More options FOR SOME PEOPLE OR PLAYSTYLES, but not for others. Why not just open it up to 5 power pools? Why not just limit it to 4 power pools like we have now? Instead of actually having a cost associated with making a choice, you just want what you want with no thought of cost or consequence.

So not permitting homosexuals to marry is fine because they had the same access to marriage as everyone else, (i.e. to a person of the opposite sex)? The OP clearly wants access to the origin power pool in addition to 4 other choices specifically because they don't want to give up any of those 4 other picks. If *not* wanting a major change to be made because its proponent cannot look beyond their own interests is selfish, then I suppose I am selfish. It doesn't change the fact that the OP has not provided a cogent defense of their position besides "it's fun".

You proposed the change that this whole thread centers around. Defend your position or abandon it.

Selfish because YOU want the change for your own reasons without consideration of such a change's impact on the rest of the game. Juvenile because you want those changes solely so you can "have fun", (again without care for the impact of these changes).

That is a very selfish and juvenile position to take. You need to think in terms of the greater scope of game balance and *not* further devaluing what are already fairly lenient power pick choices...

Then take the power and accept the consequences.

Regardless, you still haven't given a good reason why origin power pools shouldn't count towards your 4-pool limit.

I want to take 5 power pools, too, only I want the 5th one to not be an origin one - I can't do this with your suggestion. I want to take 2 origin pools, but I can't under your proposal. Both are restrictions to other peoples' choices.

So restricting other choices is fine, so long as those you find fun aren't. Seems legit!

They *are* "another pool selectable from the other 4". I just don't think that you should be able to have 5 total power pools to pick from. Taking any power should come with an opportunity cost - and allowing even more selections just lessens that. Why should I be able to take speed, fighting, leadership, leaping and sorcery, but not sorcery & force of will?

The cybertech sleeveless tanktop also has coloration issues when other parts are selected and using the same color selection. I 100% agree that it is very annoying. I often find myself having to include a belt or other separation in order to "hide" the issue...

Except that presence has that last part. Speed has that. Even leadership's 5th power can be classified as a "buff with an extremely long cool down". Frankly, it should be the other way around; If I want powers from force of will and sorcery, I should be able to take them - at the cost of 2 power pool picks...

Oh? I hadn't noticed. You can't take sorcery and force of will? Interesting. But you're still, in essence, arguing to be able to take 5 power pools, only 1 of them must be an origin pool...

What is the intent behind this proposal? Is it overpowering to be able to take sorcery and force of will? I can't imagine it's anywhere near as game-changing as being able to take speed & fighting, for instance. If it's just for thematic reasons, then why not just limit yourself instead of limiting everyone else? Also, I thought Force of Will was the natural-origin pool...

As is the case with powers in empathy, thermal, and any other set with a single target ally-only heal. Most importantly, however, it wouldn't have any interrupt.

Quick question: I'm currently playing a gravity control/nature affinity controller. She is quite fun, and having just hit level 35, I picked up entangling aura. The power description shows it as having an 80% chance of applying a mag 1 hold, and a 50% chance of applying a mag 2 hold. I was looking at some of the IO sets available, (the power only accepts "Hold" IO set enhancements), but wanted the input of some more experienced folks. Would the enhancement that give a chance of applying a +2 mag hold be good in this power, since it's a toggle? What about the ones that give a chance of applying psionic or lethal damage? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Reduce the cooldown, reduce the heal amount, and allow it to work on any friendly target.

I am currently using an older 11.6" i5 laptop, with intel graphics, (it's an HP EliteBook 2170p), to play CoH when I'm out. It runs ok, but I have to use the simpler rendering launch option to get a decent framerate. I already have a pretty nice full-size laptop, so what I'm looking for is an inexpensive, lighter laptop that I won't have to worry about getting dinged up. Anyone have any experience with something like this or this? Thank you for your time!
