  1. Very cool! Funny story - my avatar picture was one of the first screenshots I ever took; I couldn't figure out how to rotate the camera around, so I activated rest, since it locks you in place, in order to get the shot...
  2. Do you happen to have screenshots? Thanks in advance!
  3. Hydra are a group where it makes sense for them to be able to merge. I could kind of see lesser Clockwork combining to form a larger one.
  4. Energy or fire make for some good generic "ki attacks". Darkness, ice, sonic, or electricity for more of an elementalist/furies type, (think Lo Pan's enforcers from Big Trouble in Little China). Beam rifle or assault rifle can make for a good modern ninja-soldier. Pistols can give you more of a"hard boiled" type of martially-trained cop/detective/PI type.
  5. Not a merge mechanic per se, but it'd be kind of cool if members of the Carnival of Shadows/Light did things like forming a human pyramid or if strongmen threw acrobats as a sort of "fastball special". It'd also be cool if, for instance, a Rikti could call down a suit of power armor for backup, but you could try and destroy it before they were able to don it...
  6. This was taken during the Rikti invasion at the end of closed beta: And this was me trying to copy Posi's costume back in like i1 or so:
  7. Except that if you stray too far from what makes CoH CoH, you run the risk of alienating all those players that came to Homecoming in the first place...
  8. There are some nice aura effects that, when set to their "combat" versions, cane make for a convincing power effect.
  9. I'd also like an "all energy" option, like we see for some sword models. It'd also be great if we could have a "classic invisible" version, where you just kind of see the faint outline of the object, like how Space Ghost or Wonder Woman's jet was frequently portrayed.
  10. Ah, my bad - that feature only works for main powers, AFAIK.
  11. There's no macro to do that, but there should be an option under the beta\experimental features to show power recharge times as a numerical representation.
  12. Good news! The game code is out there in the wild, now; Setup your own server and establish whatever rules you want!
  13. Are you solo or teamed? There seems to be some mechanism, (whether intended or not, I cannot say), that prevents you from getting AE tickets while teamed. I get them while solo without issue...
  14. You understand that her being labeled as "P2W" is meant to be tongue-in-cheek, given that no one is actually paying any real money to her, yes? Sure, you pay influence or infamy for some of the items she has for sale, but as previously mentioned, that is more about removing money from the in-game economy...
  15. It's a tohit buff, grants resistance to tohit debuffs, and grants extra perception. Tactics from leadership is somewhat similar, but offers confuse protection instead of the resistance to tohit debuffs, and also affects your entire team. I have an extra 20% accuracy bonus from IO set bonuses, but AFAIK, extra acc isn't as good as tohit buffs...
  16. In celebration of the upcoming holiday, here is my severely misguided "hero", 'Bad Medicine':
  17. I didn't have a big budget to work with when I put my machine together, so what I did was to get one of these, then one of these, and finally one of these. It'd require minimal building from your perspective, and should run CoX and many other games just fine. If you want to splurge, also pick up an SSD to round it all off... EDIT: Here's a link for a GTX 1050 ti, which doesn't appear to need external power, so it'd be an even easier install...
  18. My point is that a bunch of people gathering in a location out of necessity doesn't turn that location into an actual "community hub" - People go in, do what they were forced to come there for, and leave. Maybe, maybe a tiny fraction actually socialize there, but that's the exception, not the norm; Most players want to run quests, defeat enemies, level up, etc...
  19. I think a lot of this is also a matter of perception: Are a bunch of people standing around the AH or crafting tables in a university *really* a community? Do you look at people crowding around Ms. Liberty and think "Yeah! This is what I want to see more of?"
  20. Weren't there talks, (from the devs or in-universe), about finally bringing down the war-walls? In general, it'd be nice to not have to zone-zone-zone quite so much - perhaps more dynamic loading of game instances and open areas. It'd also be nice to have places like office buildings or warehouses updated to have more sensible and less frustrating layouts. In a more general sense, I'd love to see contacts and other such notable people in the world be more dynamic; Add more instances where you meet your contact inside of missions, or where missions aren't just "go to point X and click/defeat/rescue object or person Y". Maybe make bus stations usable for fast travel within a zone and such, too.
  21. So Psionic Melee seems to be a mashup of 2 different ideas - hard light constructs like Green Lantern might create, and psi blades like Psylocke creates. Why not allow someone to stick to all one theme or another? The psi blade attacks could use an open-hand chopping animation, while the non-blade attacks could use a quick or upward thrust of the psi blade. Your thoughts? Thanks for reading!
  22. I, personally love gravity control. It is probably the most "blastery" of the control sets. Yes, it excels at soloing, but it is also excellent against single targets. In a team setting, it really shines once you get wormhole and if you have a secondary where you can setup a "killing field", (such as traps); Teleport a group of enemies onto your caltrop-laden mine field and let your team mop up the stragglers!
  23. Quick question for you fine folks, if anyone can help: I have a character I'm currently playing called "The Brave Woodsman". He's a BA/WP brute. I've got a pretty good look going for him, (I'll post a screenie if I get the chance later), but I can't quite find a plaid shirt. I've been able to kind of simulate it by using a rough-leather top, which has vertical lines in it, along with a red & black horizontal pattern. Can anyone assist? Thanks in advance! Here's some pics:
  24. City of Heroes takes place in a world where teleportation and inter-dimensional travel are commonplace; To imagine that ordering an item from a specialized auction house for heroes couldn't be sent to you instantly, from anywhere, is actually more of a break from the game's reality, than forcing them to go to a few select buildings. I also find it odd that one couldn't, with enough resources or reputation, simply buy a portable crafting table outright. I do agree that it'd be nice to bring more life to some of the lesser used/visited zones. See my first comment regarding Oroborous and time travel in general, and see my comment about the AH/crafting for respecs...
  25. So I have a level 43-ish BA/WP brute called "The Brave Woodsman". He's pretty fun to play, but I wanted to make him very well rounded, so invested in leadership, (assault & tactics). I have tactics slotted with 1 end redux & 3 tohit buffs, 1-2 acc IOs in each attack, and several IO set bonuses granting me extra acc and recharge bonuses. I took energy mastery for some extra end, recovery, and regen, but skipped focused accuracy. Since I'm running tactics, is it still worth it to take focused accuracy? I have 3 power picks left, and I still haven't taken my taunt or self-rez. The only pool powers I've taken are mighty leap from force of will and assault/tactics. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
