Thanks for the clarification. How are you slotted? If you aren't running any tohit buff powers, like tactics, you'll probably want the equivalent of 3 acc SOs in any power you need to hit vs enemies that are higher level or applying tohit debuffs on you. Going back to the character you mentioned - war mace excels at single target damage, so perhaps focus on fewer higher level enemies...
-
So a few notes: Many enemies from the Skulls faction use dark attacks, which debuff your tohit chance, thereby making you whiff a lot, and if you have any AoE powers that normally buff you, since they'll miss more often, you won't benefit from them as much. Second, since tanks generally lack in the damage department, you'd be better off sticking to a more normal setup for missions - especially since war mace lacks a lot of AoE damage. Also, and unless I've misunderstood what you wrote, are you trying to run these missions solo? If so, what exactly are you "tanking" - there's no team to protect and no one backing you up. I'd suggest rolling a brute or scrapper, if that's what you want. Otherwise, grab a few teammates who can bring damage and buffs/debuffs, to make your questing more enjoyable. Cheers!

Another thing to consider is that with illusion, you get spectral wounds, which is fairly unique among control sets, since it's a direct damage attack - but you pay for that by the enemy eventually healing back the damage if they're not defeated in short order. As a dominator, you're already getting those, but without that drawback. At least with gravity, its direct damage attacks come with some useful control abilities, (knock up and knockdown). Still, it'd be awesome to be able to blast and punch along with your phantom army!
-
Well, the same could be said for controllers not being able to use their powers for more direct attacks - I mean, if you can surround enemies in fire, and even summon living embodiments of fire, why does it take so long just to fling around some fire balls? In the case of forcefield, what they could do is add a mutually exclusive alternative to personal force field, which has much lower defensive values, but allows you to attack and interact with objects, while it's running. At the same time, Champions Online allows you to target yourself, and as a result, (and if you're Freeform), you can make godlike characters quite easily...

Well, when the game launched, blaster Assault Rifle was basically the "frankengun", because it fired bullets, shotgun shells, grenades, and jets of flame. I suppose a set that utilized a "do anything gun" or some sort of large-bore canister gun, could work, (though it seems really specific for a power set). Personally, I would love to see customization get to the point where you could choose gun animations for any blast/attack/ranged set... Want a sonic gun? Choose those animations for sonic blast. Want a freeze ray? Choose gun animations for ice blast, etc...

TBH, I don't recall ever encountering this arc while the game was live; Perhaps I left before it was added. I finally played through it about a month ago, and while it was a little interesting, I did wish I could take a "3rd option" at several points during it. It's just one of those things that would require a significantly advanced AI, (or much better branching options), in order to satisfy everyone...

I can just imagine this character's battle cry: "Stop looking at me!" or "Stop leering at me!" LOL!!!
-
I like that costume a lot as well, but I may transpose it onto a different character; The mind control/pain domination controller just isn't working out like I imagined. A slight tweak to the color scheme would work really well for any of a number of power combinations...
-
Personally, I think that, where appropriate, the game's artwork should remain original. That being said, I'd love to see some sort of unoffical power icon replacer mod added, or an official one in-game, but purely as an option...

Here's another idea: i am root 2.costume
-
Very nice! Here's my take on "I am Root": i am root.costume
-
Ooh! I like that shirt! Those jeans look great, too! May be a nice "off duty" outfit! Thanks! Question: Can you put the rocket boots on with those jeans? Oh, and I'm using the cupid bow atm. Still, really really nice! Update: Here is a "QueenBethari inspired" costume I came up with. I feel this character would stay a bit more tactical, even while off duty:
-
QueenBethari, since she's no longer with Malta, I just use one of the star logos, (you can kinda see it in my screenshots). Those are great, though! Thank you so much! Update: Here is a costume that is both a bit more armored while also being a little more risque, as well as a shot of the back:
-
Another option would be to have a new AT, essentially, where you got to pick he body type, AT, primary, and secondary for your "partner". Their powers and AI would be based upon something like your level, or otherwise tied to powers you've taken in your primary and secondary. I can't imagine this partner getting the full compliment of player powers, though...
-
Nice! So I have a character, (archery/tactical arrow blaster), that I'm really liking. She's a former member of the Malta Operatives. I have about 5 costumes for her already, and they all follow the general theme of starting off in full Malta-inspired military gear, and slowly moving toward more civilian-styled clothes, (so first costume has the helmet, goggles, a breather mask, flak jacket, etc, 2nd drops the helmet and flak jacket, etc). She uses a jetpack, (the more compact one with "wings" that fold up when not flying), so I want keep that, and she obviously uses a bow. I'd love to see some other folks' interpretations! I'm not at my computer ATM, but I'll try to post some screenshots if I can, for reference... Edit: Here are a few screenshots, from most armored to most casual:

What are these squares inside my character?

Can you provide a screenshot of your character when stealth isn't on, with the other side of them facing the screen? I have a feeling it's part of a costume piece that wasn't coded properly to become invisible/transparent when affected by a stealth ability... -
There should be some weight to the decisions you make regarding power picks and enhancement slot placement; We shouldn't just be able to max out all powers simply because we have them. Between the multiple builds and freespecs we're given every 10 levels, character build decisions are already lessened. Let's please not diminish them further...
-
Then form the team and ask if anyone would mind taking the reigns from there.
-
So you're not willing to step up, then? I'm sorry, but it just bugs me that the solution is right there in your hand, but you don't want to use it... Start your own team and get those TFs going, if you want to do them so badly...
-
Frankly, I think many character/powerset concepts could be realized if they proliferated more animation choices to more powersets. You can already color each of your powers differently, so if you wanted to simulate a magic missile, then a fireball, then a lightning bolt, you can almost accomplish that. The problem exists if you want to try and go in the opposite direction; You can't remove the runes or castign gesture from some sorcery powers, and you can't remove the tricorder gadget from aid other/aid self. I never liked how Champions Online implemented vehicles, so I hope that any instances here are either purely cosmetic, or entire powersets centered around a vehicle/powersuit, (and fully customizable to boot). More costume options are always welcome!

Maybe some kind of Shadow Shard event that the OP is putting together? *shrugs*

Well, the code is "out there", so others can certainly setup their own servers if they wanted to. That doesn't prevent NCSoft from issuing a C&D order, if they're found out, though. I certainly share your concern over NCSoft being involved in CoH once again, which is probably why the devs are taking their time and making sure to cross their t's & dot their i's...
-
Right now, NCSoft actually holds the rights to 'City of Heroes' and Homecoming has no official recognition by them, nor do they have the right to run these servers from a legal point of view. Gaining these things would give Homecoming that legitimacy and quash any fears of the devs here receiving a cease & desist order or threat of legal action...
