  1. I don't understand this push to consolidate/eliminate servers - are the more populated servers not busy enough? Should they be standing-room only? Do we want to have to sit in a queue just to login to them?
  2. I've been toying with a few different ATs and combinations to use with marine affinity, and was wondering if anyone has extensive experience with beam rifle on corruptors? It's like the only weapon set that I haven't gotten to 50, and now seems as good a time as any, what with the new marine affinity set. I'd love to hear your thoughts or opinions. Cheers!
  3. I'd wager that there's a piece of terrain, that while you can see through it, is actually flagged as "solid", so as to break LoS...
  4. The thing is, is the animation that has you drawing/extending the claws separate from the actual displaying of said claws. The closest I can think of is the cyborg hud aura, which sort of "deploys" when you enter combat. That being said, AFAIK, no aura involves a further menu to select and color specific models - even wings each have a separate entry...
  5. In general I'd love to see the claws models made available, but the problem is they aren't hand models - they are separate weapon pieces, and savage melee doesn't make any calls to said weapon models. I think the closest they could do is to either use an existing costume slot, like shoulders, and put the claws models in there, (though they'd likely have to be out all the time). Otherwise, they'd have to essentially remake all savage melee powers to make said call to the claws weapon models...
  6. Is the game able to connect specific costume pieces with specific sound effects? The closest would probably be to cludge some sort of travel/path aura that overrides normal footfall sound effects with a generic "thud" as you're walking, IMO...
  7. My understanding is that, at the time, it would take too long to implement the options via the menus, so it was either cludge something together like we have with Null the Gull, or don't have the options at all...
  8. I suppose I should have been clearer with my statement - the "they" I mentioned was in reference to the Nova & Dwarf powers, respectively, NOT the AT as a whole...
  9. No doubt. Now the question becomes - should there be *any* graphical indicator that you are actually in nova or dwarf forms, (even if you select a 'minimal' gfx option)?
  10. If you remove the forced shapechange of Nova & Dwarf, then what they essentially become is bio armor's offensive or defensive modes, only with more steps and greater restrictions. As loathe as the devs are to take this route, maybe offer an exclusive this-or-that option, where you can take a nova toggle that buffs damage, tohit, and recovery but doesn't change your appearance or lock out other powers, while having lower buff values than the current one, for balance purposes, then do something similar with dwarf...
  11. I'm pretty sure you need to be in the mission to receive completion credit - it's the same as when you don't get mission completion XP for not being in the mission instance...
  12. I wonder how difficult it would be to add the Coralax "hair" & gloves/hands as costume pieces players can use, (not to mention the shoulders and hip/waist parts): And the Red Hybrid looks more like kelp/seaweed:
  13. If you don't want to build/craft IOs, you can buy them from the AH. No need to undercut the market. SOs are still viable - I've used 50-53 SOs on characters that I either don't want to deal with a "complex" build or if I don't want to invest in one of their secondary builds as a sort of experiment, (using drops I've accumulated through normal play)...
  14. I'm no programmer, but from what little I do understand, the appearance is "baked-in" to each power and relevant upgrade - so you'd need some way of replacing the call to the relevant character model...
  15. Conversely, they'd have to do something to prevent full teams from roflstomping them - how do you make the rewards attractive enough for small teams to run the content, but not for full teams to grind them endlessly? Could the game dynamically adjust the content AND rewards? Maybe it could cap it at 4-5 players?
  16. Well, nobody "needs" 10 costume slots, but being that customizing your appearance is such a big part of the game, I can understand why someone wouldn't want to have to give up costume slots for their minions. Personally, if it's the *only way* to achieve henchman customization, then that's fine by me, but I can see why others may be against such an implementation...
  17. I wonder what it is that prevents that "other server" from simply pointing to a saved costume file instead of requiring an existing slot be used...
  18. Inspired by no one in particular, I present to you, "Hex-Claw":
  19. As the title states, I'd love to see 2 separate things added: 1. A way to invert face patterns, so the parts that currently get the color wouldn't, and the parts that are currently skin, get the color instead. 2. Similar to how psychic powers or radio waves/radar/sonar are frequently depicted, I'd love to have some "emanating circles" aura options. Bonus points if it can optionally emanate only arcs in 1, 4, or more directions! Imagine if the parts that are currently skin got the color instead...

  20. I'm giving Marine Affinity a try, so to go with the theme, here's "Madam Fathom":
  21. So, we have power pools focused around making you or others less noticeable, (concealment), and more noticeable, (presence, except for pacify). I think it'd be great if we had a power pool that centered around misdirecting or otherwise misleading your enemies. To that end, I present "Misdirection": 1. Distraction - A simple power that has your character throw a rock or some other object at a targeted location. This power, (possibly via a pseudopet), generates a short lived taunt effect that lures enemies to the targeted location. 2. Forged Credentials - This click power, for a very short period of time, makes a single targeted enemy friendly to you. 3. Falsified Orders - This power, which targets a specific enemy, very briefly marks them as hostile to their allies, thereby getting them to attack said enemy, (kind of the reverse of a confusion power). Would only work on LTs or lower. 4. Clever Disguise - This toggle power would work similar to stealth, effectively making enemies non-hostile to you. 5. Infighting - This AoE power would work similarly to a confuse power, causing a group of lower-tier enemies to fight among themselves.
  22. Rad blast gets irradiate at 2, elec blast gets short circuit at 10, and, yes, several others get a PBAoE T9...
  23. With the release of the marine support set, it got me thinking - we can certainly make some very skimpy outfits for our characters, but what about a more tasteful smimsuit that *doesn't* look like someone simply wearing bodypaint, (mainly referring to female characters, here). There's the pair of shorts that could work, but I'd love to see it get some nice patterns, and perhaps some tops that actually look like cloth over the character's top, (the barbarian one is more like lingerie, IMO)...
  24. There are many PBAoE powers in the blast sets that these ATs also get access to, yet there doesn't seem to have been a peep made...
  25. I'm not against an elementalist MM primary. The issue isn't even the models to use - it's attaching the AI and upgrade schemes. If there's one thing CoH will never want for, it's ways to create a character model that fits a theme...
