Fallout Tv Series (Amazon Prime)
biostem replied to Frostbiter's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I wonder how the show will mesh with the ending of FO:NV. They got the aesthetics right, and I am staying cautiously optimistic, but am wary of how closely they will adhere to canon. Where's the NCR, for instance? We saw their flag in a classroom photo, but not a single soldier in sight... -
And I think you've hit on one of the biggest sticking points - people wants *some* aspects of a powerset without the others, and any pushback seems to be taken as a personal slight.
-
The game cannot/does not differentiate attacks made from the front/rear/sides. That does not mean that the intent of the powerset, as evidenced by its in-game representation, is anything other than you are utilizing an actual shield on your arm to provide said protection.

Depressed at Peacebringer Light Form crash
biostem replied to victusfate's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
Well, frankly, being able to run perma-lightform wasn't really intended when the AT was introduced. For me, I generally play tri-forms and just use dwarf form if I'm tanking, and if I even bother with lightform, I use it more like a traditional T9; only using it when I need to survive a powerful alpha or when in dire need... -
I think you are mixing up the concept of a "forcefield" or armor with that of an actual, physical shield a la Captain America. Energy Aura would probably be the closest analog for a non-physical shield "shield" power set. Personally, I want something akin to how Captain America fought with his shield and a pistol in his first MCU movie, or how you sometimes see riot squad units wielding a shield and some other ranged weapon. Heck, there are also multiple examples of this in sci-fi. Honestly, I don't think it would look too wonky to just tack the shield onto your character's forearm - there are already some pretty chunky glove options as it is...
-
Or use some of the savage melee attacks...
-
Hmm... I wonder if they could move the shield to being a "mandatory" back item, then you just kind of lash it onto your arm when doing shield charge, or just replace that with some other power. It's not ideal, but it'd bypass the whole animation issue...

Just add a generic "pull the handle" animation, both with or without the slot machine there, (like how the laptop emote spawns said laptop out of nowhere), then add generic "woohoo I won" and "darnit I lost" emotes, and you're set. Fallout 76 added a slot machine a while back, then a bunch more in their Atlantic City update, and they pretty much go unused for all the effort they put into them...

It reminds me of Akroyd's original idea for Ghostbusters vs what we got - his proposal would have cost way too much, so it was reined in and scaled back, and resulted in a much better end product, IMHO.

You would have to add some interrupt mechanic to every power, and even then, it wouldn't stop you once you were partway through one. It's just part of the charm/age that CoH was made in...

The uncanny-plasticine look of the CO faces and hands aside, I think they did implement many things better there than CoH did, at least as far as the costume creator goes. The way it remembers the 5 or so last colors you used for easy accessibility is also a great feature...
-
Heck, imagine if they could implement some sort of "sort by frequency of use" option - then you could stick with your favorites or purposely go for the parts you use least often,...
-
I'd also love a way of "favoriting" certain costume pieces so they appear higher up in the search. It'd also be great if they coloration that matches the particular pattern was at the top of the list, instead of way at the bottom.

Combat jumping with a stealth IO, although not as translucent as the full stealth power, will have the lowest end cost by far, as well as providing some useful buffs and serving as a mule for some other IOs, like LotG. It, along with the inherent swift & hurdle, can also make for a nice "mini-travel-power".

It's about *not needing* to dual-box, outside of initially creating the level-pact. Oftentimes, convenience trumps speed, and not everyone cares about level speed over all else. Even then, it's easier to get 1 character on a farm or into a situation where they can gain XP very quickly...
-
Or go dp/ninjitsu/ninja tool sentinel, and simply use the click heal power as needed to represent his regeneration...
-
You aren't taking into account that this would level 2 characters up without the need to dual-box and whilst only taking up 1 spot on a farm. It would also permit 1 easy to level/more self-sufficient character to level up a character that is much less so, again without needing to dual-box, etc...
-
Maybe it's the cynic in me, but I can't help getting past how many people would probably just use leveling pacts to level up an alt on another account without having to dual-box...

Assuming for just a moment that you are asking how to get the launcher for the game, follow the below guide: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/installation-guide/

They really need to move away from this "let's create this with multiple movies in mind" and instead create the best stand-alone story they can right out of the gate, and only then, if it does well and resonates with people, consider sequels or creating an entire series/universe out of something...
