Let me quote myself... Now stop tilting at windmills of your own imagining...

Then call them "meta-humans" or "super-powered individuals". The name doesn't matter - what matters is that we have no generic "super-powered minions" MM primary set. If a MM can be a hero, and if they have no issue sending wave after wave of soldiers, thugs, or ninja, then I see no reason why they couldn't be some generic "people with energy, ice, fire, elec, or any other such powers"...

Indeed! I think the closest we have currently would be an illusion/dark controller - you have 3 from PA, the phantasm, "fluffy", then you can take a PPP for yet another pet, plus the 2 from the Lore Incarnate, and with careful picks and the phantom mirror option for PA, get pretty close. Still, it's not a full MM...

Avengers East Coast/West Coast are subgroups under the broader "Avengers" group. Batman and the various iterations of Robin, Batgirl, Batwoman, etc all fall under the auspices of "The Bat-Family". The various villains of "The Legion of Doom" frequently have their own henchmen, often sporting themed outfits for their boss. Even the Autobots have "The Wreckers" subfaction, and the Decepticons have "The Seekers". Heck, our own characters can join Vanguard or pledge ourselves to one of Arachnos' patrons...

The same could be said for most of the other MM primaries; "Why couldn't you just have a military themed SG instead of soldiers? Why couldn't you just have a ninja or thug themed SG instead of those primaries?" A subgroup or detachment of a larger organization, under the auspices of a single leader/sub-commander, is pretty common in comics, too...

Some sort of generic "super team" would make for a great MM primary. That being said, I wouldn't arrange it quite the same way you did, but the idea itself still has merit. Frankly, I think it would be difficult to come up with some sort of general appearance that would satisfy most players, (though I suppose it could also be a great testbed for some more customization options)...

You could go with elec or Mu and say it's some sort of piezoelectric effect...

The amount of influence/infamy/information you get in the lower levels is far lower than once you get to 50, and there are other ways to earn that currency besides from enemy defeats. That being said, if you don't like it, don't use it. I'm not sure why a purely optional and voluntary feature would put you off so much...

I paired AR with invuln on my sentinel - it is a very tanky set and has some nice adjustments for sentinels. Ninjitsu is also a fun secondary if you want something a bit more sneaky and defense-based. Radiation armor is good all around and has one of the best end recovery and absorb powers in particle shielding, so you'll have plenty of fuel for all your toggles.

Try out any and all the ATs and powerset combinations that look interesting to you - don't jump into the guides just yet and don't worry about messing anything up - you get 1000 character slots per server, so try everything out and see which is to your liking...

Ninjitsu on Sentinels and Scrappers is a lot different than how it is for Blasters; Think of it as a defense armor set, with some small amounts of damage resistance plus a self heal and self endurance restoration power; It has no attacks in it.

Here are a few characters I've really enjoyed playing: Dual Pistols/Ninjitsu Sentinel - Think The Shadow or other such pulp characters. War Mace/Ninjitsu/Soul Scrapper - Hits hard from the shadows and can still hold their own. I treat Shadow Meld like a defensive buildup power and moonbeam for those pesky runners or for strategic pulls. Elec Armor/Staff Tanker - A true survivor stacking great resists and defenses, with added flair! Gravity/Kinetics Controller - Take everything from your enemies and make their power your own!

The only issue is, at this point, that character if fully IO'd out, as I've continued to play them. The only downside to the build, as far as I can tell, is that things are so tight that there wasn't any room for "flavor" powers, such as APPs or PPPs; I suppose I could have skipped Serpent's Reach for one of those...

A humble cosmetic request - Orc Tusk/Jaw
biostem replied to Ishiga's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
There are some chinguard options that can make for a convincing organic jaw. That being said, I see no reason they couldn't tweak a few to have a more matte texture with tusks or such... -
Any tanker w/ elec armor will get >89% s/l res and be capped to energy dmg, if you also take tough, and with only using lvl 25 generic IOs. I've been using such builds to run a s/l farm I created. My greatest success has been with an elec/staff tanker, where, again with only lvl 25 generic IOs, can also soft cap melee/lethal defense, (this is including maneuvers, weave, and cj each being 3-slotted w/ lvl 25 generic def IOs - also may need 2 applications of guarded spin). EDIT: For reference, here is a lvl 36 Elec/DM Tanker I'm currently working on:

For the love of all that's holy, why no shields on our backs?
biostem replied to SolarCenturion's topic in General Discussion
The issue seems to be that some folks would want the shield to be treated like the weapons - stowed when not in combat, on the arm when you are, without having to toggle anything on or off, (and let's not forget shield defense's status protection is a click power that most make permanent)... -
Off topic, but somewhat related stuff, so don't read if that isn't your bag...
-
I accounted for that in my proposal...
-
Which is why, in my proposal, those support sets would have to be adjusted to account for that...
-
Some people would prefer a style of play where you support your teammates while in the thick of things, so to speak, and while some defenders/corruptors/controllers/masterminds might be able to pull it off under certain circumstances, they generally aren't robust enough to do so. A supprt/melee or melee/support AT, would be...
-
IMHO, I would take a much simpler route; Have the support powers be the primary, and the melee sets the secondary. The melee sets would pretty much remain unchanged, (though not sure if this AT would get the brute or scrapper versions). The primary/support sets are where the magic happens - For sets that get ally-only shields and status protection powers, change those into PBAoEs that also buff the caster, (self-buffing values would be adjusted as needed). For sets that don't have such powers, further tweaks would have to be made. For instance, while kinetics has an ally-status protection power in ID, something like inertial reduction would probably be removed and replaced with a PBAoE power that grants other forms of damage resistance, and also a jump height buff, (kind of like toroidal bubble from marine).

If you were a ghost, what powers would you have??
biostem replied to smnolimits41's topic in General Discussion
It's a very broad topic. You could rationalize almost any AT as a ghost, though my first inclination would be something involving fear and/or cold - so maybe something like a dark blast/cold domination corruptor, possibly with the soul mastery PPP.
