Good for them. I'm happy with what we've got here. Costume jank is my least favorite part about how other servers have made things possible. Homecoming has made plenty of quality costume additions that aren't jank.
There's a lot of names available. I checked my namesake and it was available. Aside from that I made two new characters and transferred one I plan on playing during server wide events.
Use /vis_scale 20 in-game or add it as a command line launch parameter in the Homecoming Launcher.

I'm not for or against it.
On one hand, how many personal story missions or character change missions are there in the game to warrant the developer time to change?
On the other hand, the inconvenience of having to turn powers back on is minor, but enough that a player would create a suggestion thread about it.
No reason to exceed Veteran Level 99 beyond vanity, no offense.
Some folks have kept at it since Homecoming launched and put up huge numbers, but at the end of the day it's meaningless.
A farming character could reach well in to the thousands and still not know how to get in to the Midnighter Club or send an in game email.
A player could hit Veteran Level 99 two months after starting on Homecoming and then disabled experience ever since then...
Origins are currently irrelevant to gameplay outside of player title selection options. Players can make a Magic origin character that has technology based powers and Science origin characters can use stone tools. It doesn't matter what players choose because it's basically as aesthetic choice anyways.
My Arachnos Widow (both Night Widow and Fortunata) are Mutation Origin. Based on how I wrote her Description, it could be assumed she is a Natural Origin character. But she's not, she is Mutation Origin. And she also received Magic Origin powers from choosing Ghost Widow as her Patron. And she's an Incarnate Origin also.
I dunno. If you're referring to the most recent Matt Reeves version - Batman, Alfred, Catwoman, the Riddler, the Penguin, Jim Gordon were all in the movie and were all played by major actors. How many does an ensemble make?
