That said, I've also got a 2014 Mac Mini with 4 Gb that's perfectly happy running the game (and you cannot upgrade the RAM on those.) I don't recall the settings - but it's running Big Sur and isn't on minimum - probably "upper midrange" at least. I just wouldn't have a lot else running on it. (Can't check the other settings as it's packed away in preparation for a move.)
@Greycat That's fair & I do build new systems that way. A few points though.
1. Again he did not specify if he was buying all new, used or upgrading and I have
in the past both seen and built systems having only 4GB that could do what he asked.
I wouldn't want him to pass up on a great deal for a used system just because it has 4GB.
2. RAM is one of the easiest things in the entire PC to upgrade. As long as you have open slots
available (or are willing to give up the current RAM) & buy the right upgrade type (seriously look
it up or ask a tech not all RAM is interchangeable) even a novice can do it with the help of a YouTube
video or two. On laptops it's usually two screws, two pop up brackets and a couple retaining clips
and about 1 minute of time. PC's? Unplug, discharge, remove a side panel and 2 clips per stick.
I haven't personally or professionally built a system with less than 8GB in years and my 3
personal use main PC's all have 16GB in them so I hear you and it's good advice going
forward but because used hardware is a possible option I wanted to account for it.

1st thought. Great artz! Love the warm ambiance and I approve
of the abundant amount of orangeness on display.
2nd thought. Either the photographer is a tank who forgot to detoggle Fiery Aura
or they tried to get a "better angle" from the fire pit and are currently on fire.
3rd. I have a new artist's gallery to explore. Thanks!

@Chaos Ex MachinaGeneral rule of thumb for gaming. Video card is most important, then RAM quantity second (up to a point),
then CPU cores & speed. Finally use a good SSD for your operating system if possible. A HDD is okay for game storage.
Also you didn't mention what resolution your monitor is as this can make a significant difference. 720p is much
less demanding than 1080p or 4k (which is 2160p) You also didn't say if you were upgrading or buying new.
For this game specifically to run high settings or better @ 60fps GENERALLY SPEAKING you'll want...
Processors: Any quad core or better made in the last decade should be fine. 2.0 GHz or faster
should be fine as most modern CPU's can ratchet up the speed when needed on the fly.
RAM quantity: 4GB minimum, 8GB the current sweet spot, 16GB unneeded but
nice to have if you run many things alongside your game, 32GB Overkill.
Videocard: Midrange GPU or better. How can you tell? In general terms the first number in the videocard series tells you
when it came out. The second or third number will tell you where it is in the stack for that series. Ideally want 6 and up.
So a "GTX 1060" the 6 says you're most likely set whereas a "GTX 1010GT" the 1 tells you it's not gonna cut it. On the
AMD side it should start with HD, R# or RX and again 6 or better so an "HD 9870 PRO" is good but a "R5 430" isn't.
Again, these are meant to be general tips only! If you have a specific
parts question it's always best to research or ask before you buy.

You make a good point @EmmySky there's something to be said for figuring out what colors are
closest first before you decide what to create and it does give some wiggle room but it could
also be a barrier to entry for some. An extra step they had to "figure out" before getting
to the "fun part" if you will. Several people ended up asking others to solve the "what'n the
heck color is this?" for them (SKIP!) and I wanted everyone to feel they could just jump right in.

Added flat colors. Still a ways to go but progress is being made.
Somehow he got a little bit cross-eyed (on his left side)
along the way but no worries Mike, I promise I'll fix it in post!

Many thanks for the feedback, I will go that route then.
I noticed people like @Techwright, @Cutter, @biostem, @EmmySky
and @Kingfinger having to ask about or guess-timate what the palette colors
translated to in the CC and I would prefer to avoid that confusion.
The question now is if I build it how many will show up???

are these the prize sketches you are referring to? I think I could do something similar.
Out of curiosity though why use a website like ColourLovers instead of just picking colors right from the CC
so there is no confusion and debate (e.g. is the dress blue/black or white/gold). Thoughts?

Thanks @Troo, I'm glad you like where it's headed.
Yeah I've always had more control with traditional media. Digital coloring can be kind of hit or miss for me.
It's not that I'm bad at it, I have an eye for color, just untrained. I don't always know what the digital equivalent is.
I'm sure if I keep practicing I'll get as proficient with a stylus as I am with a brush or pencil. One of these days.

Thanks Icanav I do too.
This was a drawing I started way back during CoH live but the person I was making it for disappeared
from the forums and so I never bothered to finish it. Aside from the reference picture all
I remember being told is that he has ice powers and a very joker-like grin.
I've been branching out and trying different coloring techniques lately so I'm going to
experiment on this and color it up even if Arcturus, most likely, will never see it.

Ha! Nice one @Troo. I think I've posted somewhere on these
forums that I used to do themed TF runs and classic arcade games
was a popular one. I did most of the Street Fighter and Tekken cast at some
point. Zangief & Paul Phoenix came out best, I never did get a decent E.Honda though.
Also if you have not been paying attention to
my art thread this is now even more of a thing...

My first thought upon reading your text is "What about Praetor Tillman (Mother)?"
She is one of the most powerful psychics in the world and totally devoted to Emperor Cole.
She's not about to let one of her precious "children" leave to join powers division or have anything to
do with (as far as the public is concerned) the sworn enemy of her Emperor. I believe at one point you even learn...
SpoilerMother Mayhem is literally "trimming" the seer's psyches! She cuts away
any fragments of their being that are disobedient to her will. So any
talk of reporting "other voices" or different frequencies and SNIP!
This is where the apparitions running loose in First Ward come from, they are the snippets that she
cuts out of her seer network. You could still work something like that into your story but you
may need some mention of how she is able to hide her abilities from Mother's sight or
some reason (mysterious or explained) why Mother would allow these defiant bits to exist.
Alternatively maybe Alice was rejected from her school as being too weak and then accidentally
absorbed one or more of these snippets or felt a connection to an apparition that used
to be part of someone close to you. Just some things to mull over for you.
Some good points @AzureAngel, @Erratic1 and I like the stories you both came up with @stealthnight and @Dacy.
Stealth's does touch on how Mother was doing her "work" but was interrupted by a DE attack and from Dacy's
I get the sense that Mother feels she completed her work on "Alice" and considered her a success but once
out of her care Alice ran into a force even more compelling in the call of Hamidon and you could even
weave in the mutations you mention into this story as they were latent Mother didn't notice them
but something in nature triggered them and once active she could now hear the Will of Earth.

Caemgen will say he is too lazy to finish writing his own heroes to help someone else and Darth Delicious
will say she doesn't play enough Gold Side to be much help (I just threw them in because they
are good at writing and I am being a pain in the tucas) but perhaps the others
can give you some good suggestions for why your character exists?
