So my Goldsider now has a badge for Ouro, an exploration badge for a place I still cannot visit. ROFL.

How do people feel about being able to access Incarnate powers down to level 45? I'm mixed about this. Some of the time, like if I'm solo, I like it and they keep me alive (depending on the notoriety levels), and some of the time I hate it, mainly in teams, because even at a tough notoriety 45+ material was never designed to stand against an Incarnate PC. I don't see an immediate solution that wouldn't rack off at least a fair amount of people, no matter which way you leaned, UNLESS, taking a cue from above, like the Kheldian identifiers, an instance could generate Incarnate NPCs to deal with the Incarnate PC. Then again if I'm the ONLY Incarnate and have exemped to play with level 40s then that, unlike the Kheldian issue where their nemesis really only affects them, could wipe a team out.

That's just TV execs (a) being lazy and (b) not wanting to deal with possible law suits, however frivolous. Case in point. White Wolf (ha!) the RPG company (back before it was entirely poisoned by EdgeLords) released a Sci Fi RPG called Aeon...for all of a month. It had to be withdrawn and renamed as Trinity because Aeon Flux (anyone remember that garbage?) filed a suit against them. The two are nothing alike, there's no look and feel to it, there's just one word and both are set in the future. I was lucky enough to snag one of the original printings but the case was nonsense. It looks like the TV execs are box ticking against Elric in that respect.

Incarnate stuff...ugh...the UI is fiddly, shards are simply unnecessary nonsense. They're part of an unfinished section of the game and unbalance anything where they were never meant to exist. If you were to Respec Recluse and his lieutenants as full Incarnates what would the Ms Liberty Task Force look like then? I can see an uproar in certain quarters if they were to vanish, and I wouldn't suggest that because they do tie into the Lore and so on, but tidy what is there. Fix the UI, scrap shards for only threads (and any associated material such as being able to get Gr'ai Matter from the Vanguard base table, let that convert straight to threads). Yes, "The Coming Storm", whatever. The Coming Storm material in the AMA is directionless and dull waffle aimed at (a) more bottleneck end content and (b) paving the way for COH2. If there's going to be one of those it needs to be different. It's one of the few things where I am happy there is only a tiny volunteer dev team, because we're not getting that any time soon. And add actual incarnate material to the AE. That would give many a taste for what possible future Incarnate material might feel like at the least. I'm probably the wrong person to comment here really. I'm 100% against driving the game into a bottleneck with end content creep and Incarnate powers are part of that. But it is what it is.

Goldside Content and Primal/Praetoria crossover
Darmian replied to Panthonca7034's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm doing a complete cut & paste from a post I made in the PEATs discussion, but I think it worth doing. Here it is: At the very least ... a possibility of the Refugee Praetorians eventually being dealt with (no, Marchand's New Praetorians do NOT count), with the option of Praetorians gaining perhaps a Praetorian Refugee badge perhaps at level 40+ if they haven't done the Rift Enclosure mission (locking them out of doing that mission even via Ouro, necessary I think, you can't have both!) (Though the Refugee badge SHOULD be an alternate to complete the Tempered Through Fire accolade instead of Escapist) and being able to cross to Primal earth then without losing their distinct identity. I'm going to emphasize this next bit! Either that or Dark Watcher (who they do meet in Praetoria), gives them access to the same missions that Number Six has except entering via the Night Ward portals. It is a bugbear playing a solid gold toon when there is an entire section of missions dedicated to your place of origin that you can't access at all without becoming a Primal character. So plant Dark Watcher somewhere in Praetoria (could even be Nova, he's a time and dimension traveler after all, the same way that other high level contacts hang around in low level areas, like James Harvan in Atlas) and he'll speak to you when you're the right level and give you the exact same missions that Number Six does. The exact same ones but you just enter via Night Ward. Or hell, it COULD be Number Six talking to you via the Static! Again just enter via Night Ward or in Six's case the map for the Rift Enclosure mission could be used back to back, whereby you are simply shortcutting local space from one portal in Neutropolis to another in Last Bastion and so on, rather than crossing an alternate dimension. -
Architect Entertainment - Untextured non-human contacts

Looks like this is an extra thing then. Down with that sort of thing! -

I'm wondering is that an EXTRA bug or the one lots of us already know about, that being if you attempt to recolor them that happens. -
Get out there and raise some hell! WB!

Lockdown 2020: Badges, New Content & Issue 27
Darmian replied to Troo's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
As an advocate of AE, @Troo (just saw your cross post there) I'll recommend people check the Dev Choices and then check for Hall of Fame+SFMA (Hall of Fame on its own will give you a slew of farms to wade through, and some do have story content but only some), and then I'm going to show some biases by listing a few authors (in no particular order) that I personally enjoy the work of, whether they've done merely one or many more. @cranebump(also writes under @cranebump2and @cranebump3), @Take One, @Ankylosaur, @Peacock, @Grouchybeast, @leese, @Shockstorm, @thunderforce and plenty more. Those are just a few off the top of my head without referring to my "BIG LIST OF AEs WHAT I LIKED". And I've written a few myself. ( @Darmian) -
Hopefully the content in Beta goes live soon! Outside that? Well, there's actually some pretty good content in the AE. Now finding it is the issue with the proliferation of farms and all.

What kinds of badges would you like to see added?
Darmian replied to EmperorSteele's topic in Badges
Yes we do! That's me there in the avatar! And those accolades would be very nice. And the Rikti may not invade but I want to know where the Trading House got that Rikti tech they have in the back room! There's no real way to build TFs into Praetoria without levelling out of the actual content at the moment, an issue more to do with lack of further Gold zones rather than with the initial zones, but possibly some form of Safeguard missions? Destroyers rob a bank? I'm thinking of how Invader is acquired in this example. And yes, we COULD just go to Primal Earth, that's not the point of us. I'd like a Commuter Day Job badge in Praetoria for the Train stations. Law Enforcer badges for the Police stations, and Studio 55 should also offer the Clubber badge. -
Well, YOU don't need more maps, @Ankylosaur....yeah you do!.... but you won't object if they show up! Maps that are doable at the least could be prioritized, and by prioritized I mean moved to the top of the AE To Do list as opposed to prioritized over something more important. That said, their being no outdoor Imperial City maps when there are definitely some in missions is a glaring gap for anyone attempting to write Praetorian material. President Marchand's Office is a pain. There is an enormous outdoor area that cannot be used at all, along with the issues mentioned above.

Architect Entertainment - Content Ideas
Darmian replied to Arcanum's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Reichsman. Actual Tyrant. The Engineers from the Skyraiders (why they are missing is odd) And the Seed of Hamidon. -
I like this! It's an interesting payoff for a player that should they succeed at their mad scheme then they will lose control of their character BUT what a way to lose control of your character!
-
Sure. Be warned! I am a pain in the ass.
-
But funnies aside, yeah. Why not? Personally I've sketched some of my thoughts elsewhere (see link above) but those can be refined and hammered into other things. On a more granular level tying that macro effect that I'm looking at into something like @Ultimo's suggestions, or yours, @CrudeVileTerror, would take a bit but is entirely doable. Then breaking those down into things as "simple" as factions/story arcs/individual missions, yeah. So. What's first?

"Design document" "work" "the", all strange words to me!

There are lots of ideas. Implementing them now...sheesh.
