How do you run... Mender Ramiel's Honoree mission?
ZorkNemesis replied to Greycat's topic in General Discussion
I did the Honoree last night on a Scrapper. While more durable than most, I still try to approach this mission with paitence. First, it helps if you crank the difficulty down a bit. If you're solo, no need to go in x6 or else you'll be drowning in Rikti spawns (often while still fighting off all the Crey tanks). Try to avoid approaching the Honoree until you've got the ambushes under control since the portals won't spawn until you're close but once they do they dump Rikti everywhere. Pop inspirations as needed, especially purples to avoid Psi attacks and especially the Curse of Weariness. Get the portals down ASAP and then prioritize the captain before Honoree to minimize the odds of getting that damn curse. -
My guess is that sometimes interractable objects placed as NPCs, like a computer, might be coded as part of a group. Larger team sizes might cause the group to show up, even though they're not supposed to, and they're flagged as friendly since the main NPC object is also flagged friendly. One instance of this I can think of is during the Valentine's Day story arc in Pocket D. The summoning circle for reviving Red Widow tends to spawn with a group of friendly Council if the team size is increased.

I'm curious about what missions people consider worth using your once-every-three-days auto win on. While it's sort of intended to be saved for missions that bug out and can't be cleared I know a lot of us, myself included, use them periodically to skip specific missions that just suck (it does point out difficulty as a valid reason to skip). It might also be a good way to see if there are specific missions that might be worth looking at for future revisions maybe? The handful of missions I almost always autocomplete: Defeat Atta and Guards (Tashalk the Mystic) - A really long slog through a massive Troll cave. This mission just feels like it overstays its welcome. At least Frostfire's lair has ice physics (never thought i'd say that) and is more straightforward, I always take a wrong turn looking for Atta. Stop 30 Fir Bolg from entering the portal (Skipper LeGrange) - Who doesn't skip this? It's a kill-all in disguise across a giant outdoor map and it's super boring guarding the portal solo. Get the News Out (Dark Watcher) - Something about this mission, Amanda's never easy to find, the generators are made of paper, Silver Mantis is there for some reason, ugh. Defeat the Malta Group's Invasion (Daedalus) - Another kill-all not advertised as such. The main Cimeroran city map it takes place on is too damn big. Plus it's Malta. Defeat Romulus' Forces (Sister Airlia) - Pretty much the same exact mission as Daedalus' but with Cimerorans instead of Malta. Either way both missions are a giant slog, the map is too large for a kill-all, and if you fall and can't fly (or knock enemies off the bridges) getting back up is a pain. How about the rest of you? What missions are "must-skips" in your book? I know a lot of people skip that kill-all in Black Scorpion's arc for speed, and Buck Salinger's last mission since it's a 15-minute nap time.

List of reward merits per story?
ZorkNemesis replied to DarknessEternal's topic in General Discussion
That list appears to be incomplete, a lot of redside content missing, and no gold. It also looks out of date to Homecoming as nearly all of those TFs and story arcs give way more merits than listed. Looks like that's how it was in i13 on live servers. -
An attempt at a witch costume, and my third attempt at making a rainbow powers themed character. Hopefully i'll keep going with this one. Prisma Witch - Radiation/Regen Sentinel. A young girl who was fascinated by magical girl style cartoons and aspired to be one herself. Thanks to MAGI and her local library, learning magic in Paragon City isn't difficult. So with some study, she learned how to project beams of light as a form of attack as well as some defensive healing magic. Also I had been playing Touhou Luna Nights the other day (great game, play it even if you don't care for Touhou), largely unfamiliar with Touhou in general, and Marissa's design as well as her color attacks in that game inspired me. An older outfit not pictured takes a lot of inspiration from hers. The current outfit borrows a bit more from the Cabal in Croatoa, but keeps my old color scheme. I was a bit disappointed that the tattered looking skirts the Cabal wear aren't an option.

While true, I personally love to put my Fury -Res proc in Soul Drain, which would help Judgements. Also the extra ToHit doesn't hurt.

Beast Mastery pets can't path to vault doors
ZorkNemesis replied to ZorkNemesis's topic in Bug Reports
It could also have to do with where the target actually is, maybe? I've noticed a few object targets that have a completely different spot for hitting PBAoE attacks and Vault Doors are among them. My Spines Scrapper can't seem to hit the doors with Spine Burst or Quills even if i'm standing directly in front of the door. And while they're low enough to not cause too many issues, the Arachnos Submarines in Faultline are awful about this as their AoE target seems to be the propeller and not the rest of the sub. Maybe this spot for the Vault Doors is what our pets are trying to path to, but it's so high up they just can't reach it. Now i'm wondering, can they path to the door if Group Fly is active? -
Skulls...Girlfriend? I might have misread this one, but if I did, easy mistake. Skulls Girlfriend: Oh yeah. Can you believe it? She dumped in for a Legacy Chain guy.

issue 27 Patch Notes for May the 4th (be with you), 2021

Random Hellions in the Hollows. I swear the Hollows has some of the best random conversations. Blood Brother Chopper: Well, i'm just saying, we fight great and stuff. But how can we really make a statement? Blood Brother Chopper (a different one): Flamethrowers. EDIT: Also PPD COP: Standard stuff. Hellions and Skulls beating each other senseless. I could break it up, but why?

issue 27 [Beta] Patch Notes for May 2nd, 2021
ZorkNemesis replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Patch Notes
Hmm, I think you guys have now updated the Sewer Networks more than they were updated back on live. Are there further plans for sonething down there? -
I was a little slow on the draw, but I got this cool shot of the sun setting behind that dead tree in St. Marital during a Rikti attack. A little faster and I could've gotten the sun in a higher and better position.

Pretty much as the title says, I took my Beast Mastery Mastermind into a bank robbery paper mission and tried to sic them on the vault door. Only the Dire Wolf was able to attack it and all he did was use his ice breath attacks on it. None of the other pets did anything, all just standing there in a combat pose. In order to get the pets to attack the door I had to manually tell them to approach it with a Go-To command.
-
I have one hovering at 30. Mastermind in general isn't my thing but this is one of the few combos I've given a decent chance. From what I've seen it's pretty solid, good damage and debuffs. Flash Arrow is a must, I find I have to replace the wolves a lot less often if I blind everything before sending the pack in. Glue helps keep things from fleeing, your pack is 95% melee so keeping mobs in place is a huge help. There's a lot of setup with all the debuffs so fights might be slow. There's also some good proc potential if you yourself want to deal damage. I need to play a bit more for some extra numbers. Need the level 32 pet upgrade for starters. You also can't light the oil slick naturally with this combo. You'll need the Apprentice Charm or a Fire/Energy based epic.

I don't really get why we need Toxic defense. Toxic resistance is pretty common (many self-heals offer it, as do a number of other defensive powers like Patron shields and even Deflection Bubble) and I feel like using positional defenses to avoid it worked fine. I'm not saying it's a bad thing that Toxic defense exists now, it's just something I never really thought we needed. Electric Armor seems like the only set that really has trouble with it, but given what that set offers it needs to have a weakness somewhere... Another thought, how many sources of "pure" Toxic damage are there to defend against? Beyond Vahzilok, Hydra, Devouring Earth and Halloween Zombies i'm not coming up with too many. Most Toxic is delivered as a secondary effect like Spines or poison bites/weapons. But as for the topic at hand, I'm pretty sure no IO sets offer it, since it didn't exist prior. Anything that offers Def(All) works on it though, including Combat Jumping, Hover, Stealth, Weave Steadfast Protection/Gladiator's Armor, Field Operative, Shinobi, Hide, etc. And as before, positionals still work for it; that Vahzilok spit still isn't going to hit you if your Ranged defense is good.

Wow, I had no idea Frostfire was responsible for creating the Rogues Gallery! (This was from a Villain tip mission where he spawned as an ambush)

non issue Movement Increase temp power not stacking?
ZorkNemesis replied to Wavicle's topic in Bug Reports
Pretty sure Movement Increase from Mayhem/Safeguards is a buff to movement speeds rather then actually just adding speed. If you check the power description it says "+15% strength to run speed" as opposed to "+xx.xx run speed." In a sense it's like how Power Boost buffs your movement for a few seconds. This sort of buff won't show in your combat attributes unless you already knew the values prior. -
Homecoming's 2nd Anniversary - Echo Plaza, Festivities & The Future
ZorkNemesis replied to Jimmy's topic in Announcements
So i'm actually a little curious. What's up with that chappel-looking building in the northeast corner of Echo Plaza? I couldn't find a way in but it looks like a nice little lounge area to kick back in. -
I believe the ToHit check is only against players. It should be autohit against critters.
-
Spines/Ice is my current Scrapper project. Pretty nifty combo with all the slows, dual damage auras and a lot of AoE. A little fragile at times though with defense based defenses, and no Psi protection without some IO investment. Still powerful, Build Up and Spine Burst/Ripper with the dual auras usually kills most anything not a boss, and Ripper crits tend to delete Lts as well; nothing escapes attack range with the stacking slows which is nice considering the lack of taunt. End is mostly a non-issue with basic IO slotting. Energy Absorption keeps me topped up (even without EndMod slotting, +15 per mob autohit) and Icy Bastion is also good for a brief window of recovery (+200% recovery for the 30 seconds it's up). Planning to pick up Hibernate from Leviathan Mastery so that will also be a good recharge button if needed.
