  2. Melee attacks are not affected by range boosts. They are indeed great for ranged characters and especially for cones. My Sonic/ blaster actually grabbed Clarion Radial to try to make all those Sonic cones a little sexier. A little range boost also means you can usually hover blast outdoors with impunity.
  3. Many will have IO’s of some kind already unless the team is for all noobs or all psychos 🙂
  4. By choice, sure. The devs themselves have said over and over how very accessible IO’s are nowadays. But self-gimping is not a popular means of creating challenges. Some players want to be challenged on maxed out characters, and good MMO’s provide an outlet for this, like HC is working towards here.

  9. Arcane Bolt is great as is since last buff. Lowering the activation would make it too strong for a pool power.
  10. I like the shiny special icons tho! Would people really be struggling to remember what a couple of unique power icons do? Also note I’m pretty sure the Meteor icon at least is already a part of the live game. Think it’s my icon for casting Bonfire on target.

I was very intentional for a good while about trying to give this poster the benefit of the doubt and plenty of encouragement, because it was abundantly obvious that a little game knowledge and experience is all they needed. I also reached out privately via forum PM’s to offer in game help or teaming. Really not my problem that they’ve pissed off a number of users whilst ignoring all my attempts to help. If the optics look like a dogpile, well it looks like that’s likely their own damn fault. What we do know from experience thus far.. is that it’s now kind of a stretch to suggest this poster genuinely wants help.

Well, let's not pretend like the pressure is really on for being "that great at the rest of the game" unless you're using soloing TF's or using special challenge settings. 🙂 We'll see how hard mode goes, but, short of that, my new interest in pylons is probably the most challenging thing I do in the game. Considering I have pretty much all of the powersets at 50 save a few MM primaries and Dom secondaries, someone has to be a weak link 🙂 But at least you can always focus on what you're good at in a team. And Traps/ is pretty darn good across the board even if AR took some cheap tricks to improve.
  15. Running it, yeah. I made general improvements since last 4+ min time - the addition of Dominate and whatnot, but here's the real caveat: I cheated a little and respec'd into Ignite, knowing it would never be as good anywhere else but here. Knowing I would feel dumb about picking it up just to kill pylons, I picked up Web Grenade too and used it to mule a purple set. At which point it's not horrible in general play anymore. As long as you use it to kill off bosses instead of making whole mobs scatter. My attacks here are basically just Sniper Rifle, Dominate, Ignite, and Full Auto. Can't be chained, but I always have a Caltrops/Acid Mortar/Poison Trap/Triage Beacon up to fill in the gaps. LOTS of procs all over the place (5 in Caltrops, 3 in Acid Mortar, 4 in Poison Trap, 4 in Dominate, 4 in Full Auto...). All this with soft capped defense, capped s/l res, mez protection, and good regen is a fairly good deal 🙂 Note I don't know anything about how Ignite procs, if at all, so I put ATO's in it. But I wonder if it does crazy things like Burn does..

  18. No thanks, Traps doesn't really need to be stronger. Mobility balances it. Well, Time Bomb and Web Grenade should get tweaked, but that's it.

  22. FYI, you should be happy to know you have repped the dark/dark dom so well I decided today to make it one of my last 50's (I decided I should take a break from alts after the 100th 50, lol). I have a dark/savage dom and a dark/ta troller but I wanna lean into the hard target AV soloing thing a little more..

  24. Well once the big tanker buffs and the BillZBubba tanker v. brute rants struck, I eventually got addicted and wanted a tanker of every primary, so the "not going to add more power to a build" bit was going to happen to someone.
  25. -res procs already accounted for unfortunately. FotG in Golden Dragonfly and Achilles Heel in Soaring Dragon. Also note I am very new to trying to actually think about attack chains... most of my characters, while attacking all the time, are hitting buttons with some degree of randomness. Sure I'm going to do things like prioritize Freeze Ray or Bitter Ice Blast over Bitter Freeze Ray, but, in general, the WP/Kat/Soul is the only one tested so far that has a complete chain with no variation necessary. Most things have a partial chain, say maybe 3 consistent attacks but with some awkward gap to fill. EDITS: A few more tests: WP/Kat/Soul w/ T3 Assault Radial, T3 Reactive, T3 Vorpal RP Run 1 - 4:31 (my toggles dropped again right before my next Ageless before 4:00) Run 2 - 4:05 (detoggled super speed at the start, detoggled maneuvers a couple minutes in) Run 3 - 4:01 (kept maneuvers also detoggled from the start now) Run 4 - 4:08 Some other improvements - When FF procs are firing a lot, sometimes can chain Gloom->Soaring Dragon->Golden Dragonfly without Cross Punch. Trying to be aware of recharges enough to do that when possible. - When doing the 4 attack chain, tried rotating in Dark Obliteration when up instead of Cross Punch for the extra -res proc. Its DPA is not bad with 4 damage procs either. - Also tried to be more aware of Build Up being available. In normal play I typically just use Build Up type moves when running into the next mob or firing up a nuke, not used to being incentivized to use it as much as possible. Poison/Ice/Psy w/ T4 Assault Radial, T4 Degen Core, T4 Pyronic Core Run 1 - 2:37 (!) Run 2 - 2:34 DB/Rad/Soul Scrapper w/ T4 Assault Core, T3 Reactive, T3 Void Run 1 - 2:19 Run 2 - 2:38 Run 3 - 2:32 The times look so much better when you do run Hybrid Assault, don't they 🙂 Holy crap at the improvement to Poison/Ice vs without Assault.
