  1. Rad/Fire or Spines/Fire brutes for active+afk farming. Irradiated Ground may be a victim of the Aprocalypse so beware. Any /Fire brute for mainly afk farming. I have the two above plus Ice/, Fire/, and Dark/. Ice/Fire or Fire/Fire blasters for active but no afk farming. Find my Fire/Kin troller pretty slow compared to those, wouldn’t recommend it. Plant/Kin might be better. Plant dominator might be as fast though. Got the idea from a Plant/Fire but mine’s a Plant/Psy. Pretty damn fast at meteor. All capable of capped Fire defense and nearly capped Fire resistance. Only other option I might try for fire farming is a Fire/Kin/Fire corruptor, just to see.
  2. The Aprocalypse will bulldoze so many of my builds 😕
  3. You guys are probably right. There’s probably a reason I have like 16 level 50 defenders vs like 5 level 50 corruptors (similarly have about 3-4 non-/fire brutes vs 8 tankers). And some of those defenders feel like they do mini-blaster damage, like my rad/rad with nothing but proc bombs.
  4. Eh, I’m not positive it’s the same issue because it’s been demonstrated that Brutes still do more damage, just not as much more as the mitigation gap implies. I don’t know that such in depth testing has been done for corruptors vs defenders. It feels pretty clear to me that corruptor damage comes out on top, but I couldn’t speak to the margin over defenders. The tanker issue is also a little different because, unlike defenders vs corruptors, you’d rarely slot tanker armors like you would for a brute. You get tons of slotting freedom on tankers because you hit caps way sooner. This is kind of the case for my Time/Water vs my Fire/Time, but not so much the case for any others.
  5. I typically make my ice/ and fire/ toons corruptors more often than not because rains seem like the main exception to scourge only showing up often as kill shots. That said, I don’t really see corruptors needing a damage buff.
  6. My cat and I have persistent disagreements about the touching rules. He definitely vacillates on what’s permissible. I don’t know if my wounds were intended as play.
  7. Why would anyone play a defender with a debuff set if corruptors do it just as well with better damage? I think they’re just fine as is. You can play either AT depending on if you want more damage vs more support.
  8. Was a shortage still observed after checking the availability of the purple variant?
  9. That’s just fine. Do what you enjoy. My point was more that you came here declaring yourself to be the neighborhood badass whilst not doing anything particularly hard.
  10. Yeah, you said that already. I don’t agree that you’re an AV killer if your build can’t handle the job without outside help.
  11. If you’re going to brag about what an OP AV killer you are, you’re going to get asked about the circumstances. Anything short of level 54, no temps, and no email insps is pretty meaningless. I don’t care how you want to solo AV’s, but don’t brag about the training wheels stuff.
  12. If the temp powers don’t make it an AV killer, then go forth and solo one with no temp powers and report back. EDIT: you also said nothing about the level of the AV.
  13. Sounds like they just needed someone with temp powers 😉
  14. DFB is for people that don’t powerlevel 1-50. I’m pretty sure everyone here knows it’s not as fast as powerleveling. I don’t play my characters until 50+1 either though.
  15. Yeah every powerset combo can solo. Not every *build* can solo, but every powerset combo can build to solo if needed and respec later.
  16. I don’t really care which distinction you use, but it’s good to be transparent if you’re just talking about some even con situation with temp powers. I don’t much care for the hard AV solo’ing gigs one way or another. It’s just more tedious than it is difficult IMO. Maintaining completely constant clicking for that long is plainly annoying to me. When I read this thread this afternoon, I loaded up a Nightstar mission with my SR/BS tanker. Went with level 54, no temps, no insps (though I have no qualms about insps). Took me 5 whole minutes to whittle Nightstar down to like 90% HP. About a month ago I solo’d level 54 Infernal with an Ill/Dark but it took north of half an hour. Just ugh no thanks all around from me.
  17. Interesting. I’m guessing that was to balance out how much MM’s can do with zero endurance.
  18. Yeah idk about the end tax. Doesn’t sound like an MM specific problem. Just keep in mind that level shifts would be giant boosts to a lot more than pet survivability. You’d have to be ok with dramatic nerfs to pet power scalars to balance out the effect level shifts would have on them.
  19. There was a lengthy period when “caging” was every bit as meta as blasters and empathies in PvP. I’m not sure where they stand on it anymore though. People that have found legit uses for the power as is, of course, are my big concern.
  20. Singularity’s effect is balanced by being harder to control (pet movement) and by the enemies being pulled into an AoE KB, so, besides cottage rule concerns, it’d need to be balanced against some other con. Nowhere-near-perma uptime is by best guess.
  21. Well, Traps can still be useful if you are just toe bombing Poison Trap, Acid Mortar, and Caltrops the whole time. I think you mean teams move too fast for Traps to be “fully utilized”. Also, even when I’m soloing, I find FFG so annoying to stay inside of. I’m a very mobile combatant, whether because of kiting or because of setting up cones or whatever. Trying to stay in the high defense zone is very restrictive. I find this very annoying on my Traps/AR but not so bad on my Grav/Traps.
  22. Could I interview you for my Muggle Studies thesis?
  23. I haven’t touched my Masterminds since the last round of major changes. I suspect whatever endurance troubles they have are already gone though: ^Barely anything left to Masterminding that costs endurance. It’s not obvious to me that any such “Endurance Tax” exists. As for level shifting henchmen, that’d be a very radical change in need of extensive testing (would require that henchmen need a *massive* boost in effectiveness and not an incremental one), but, even if they do decide it’s not overpowered, I would be strongly against tying it to set bonuses/procs. Masterminds have a hard enough time working all the enhancements and procs they need into their few pet powers as is. I can’t see wanting to 6 slot any pet set what with all the aura procs (6 of them?) and 10% recharge bonuses (3 of them) I’m already trying to squeeze out of them. If they do level shift, it seems more likely they’d have that baked in from the start and would then lower all the base damage/etc dramatically to compensate.
  24. I mostly huddled in the fetal position for warmth while my dopamine reserves slowly leaked away.
