  4. Yeah Rebirth would do the trick too but I’m using Ageless Core at the moment. Can’t recall how necessary that was. But yeah awesome toon, but although I don’t think I’ve died yet... the health bar isn’t as immovable as my Invuln tanker or - after it’s already moved down a big chunk - my SR tanker.
  5. I’m sorry Sue, but I would be opposed to making any defense set bonuses easier to get at this point.
  6. Do you need One With The Shield to get to unkillable status? I built my new one without it initially and am sort of regretting it. Defenses and DDR are spectacular but without the capacity to cap resistances sometimes I wouldn’t say I feel unkillable. Outside of the fact that my health bar can still move a bit though, it is indeed an incredible pairing. I’d say I’m currently sitting at capped defenses, ~88% DDR, ~60-65% S/L/F/C res before SMotT procs and ~45% other res before SMotT procs. Think I need that T9.
  7. I would be in favor of this. 4 Freedom Phalanx seems to make the most sense as a mirror to the villain patrons.
  8. Smashing isn’t really any more resisted than lethal or psionic damage, if not less resisted. How many sets are we gonna be buffing to make this proposal fair? Sounds like broad power creep, no thanks.
  9. Don’t see EM needing any buffs in its current state. It’s now firmly back in the “one of the best sets” categories. It’s single target damage is so incredible that it has to have relatively weak AoE. Think it’s time to focus on other sets.
  10. Pretty much impossible to have endurance problems at level 50 thanks to incarnates, so there’s that silver lining that this will only ever be a problem when exemplaring. SR tankers are awesome.
  11. I still don’t understand “where’s the crime?” when an acknowledgment like this is made. Guess there’s those lower levels, but then how many sets are late bloomers? Feels like plenty of em. Then there’s those roleplayers, but I don’t totally get what they’re going through that’s so hard. My imagination usually handles that kind of stuff, not my power names and descriptions.

  14. (1) Sometimes. Some of my fav heroes sure get tired. (2) Why is it a problem for a set to not be #1? As long as it’s not one of the worst in the game I sure don’t care.

No. “Good balance” does not mean Super Strength has to be the strongest set in the game. “Good balance” merely means that, at the end of the day, the various sets perform relatively well compared to each other. Which they do. Maybe not some, but Super Strength is probably closer to the top than the bottom in overall performance, which is a perfectly good place to be.

  19. The only purpose of the crash is to offset how much +damage/+tohit Rage does compared to Build Up/etc. If you think Jab/Punch/Hurl need to be buffed, why not say so instead of this confusing argument about their problems being somehow Rage’s fault?
  20. Each power would need to be balanced on its own terms *and* within the set. Not sure what the hypothetical 1 damage powerset argument is doing for the conversation though.
  21. The penalty balances the damage buff power. Not the set.
  22. Damage buff magnitude =/= powerset DPS or DPA or pylon time or whatever you’re getting at. No one has ever claimed SS is the clear winner in damage output overall. But ofc there’s zero reason it should since all sets can’t be the best.
  23. It is factually and indisputably the best when averaged over a two minute period or longer with the possible exception of Claws/Dual Blades if activated every 3-4 seconds. I’m going to take the liberty of reading between the lines here though and say your problem sounds like it’s with Jab/Punch/Hurl, not Rage. Am I really wrong?
  24. Alas, I suppose that’s why we have thousands of possible powerset combinations we can create. In case someone likes one and not another or something like that.
