  1. It was just an example of a power in a pool.
  2. If you insist on picking up Hasten on every build, and: - in one universe, that costs you a power slot and a couple of enhancement slots, and, - meanwhile, in another universe, that costs you a power slot, a couple of enhancement slots, AND the opportunity to pick another pool, the latter set of challenges is objectively greater. You are confusing number of options with cost, and cost is what yields the challenge.
  3. Fewer choices = higher cost / tradeoff per choice = more challenging building. So disagree.
  4. Easy now, this thread is not the place to be telling us what a pleasant person you are
  5. Well, I can assure you it’s pretty great on the new Singularity. I have a Grav/Sonic Sorcerer specifically for abusing 4 ally toggles working with the AoE pull effect.
  6. Good AoE damage. Very good DPA too if you think about it.
  7. Yeah I was planning on that - I’m more wondering what else could come of it. Like how Arcane Bolt is suddenly a pretty good attack. I even have a couple characters that dug into Sorcery but didn’t take Rune because all 5 powers are good for something now.
  8. I just want to say that I seem to have a ton of characters with Sorcery now so the changes must be pretty damn good 🙂 It seems to be firmly up there now with Flight and Concealment as the best alternatives to the SS/SJ/Fight/Leader meta. Any word on revamps of the other origin pools? Experimentation is already pretty damn good but can’t wait to see what you guys do.
  9. Energy Blast is still your best bet. I would do Storm instead of Force Field though. That or make a Kheldian if you want knockback masochism.
  10. A lot of people have zero tolerance for difficult choices and completely overlook the fact that trade-offs and challenges are a very large part of how games are made interesting in general.
  11. I slot 2 Annihilations, 2 Positron’s Blast, 1 Bombardment, 1 Javelin Volley. That’s 2 Acc/Dam/End, 4 Procs.
  12. My resistance to it is strictly that, IMO, the thought that Ice Blast of all sets should get more single target DPA is completely ridiculous.
  13. Well someone’s backpedaling 😉
  14. Ok that’s pretty much what I thought. Verifying I’m not exactly screwing myself out of much if I put, say, Superior Avalanche or the ATO set (the one that doesn’t need to go in AS) there. Made an Electric/Ice Stalker yesterday and studying your threads. Stalker is one of my most neglected AT’s alongside Sentinel. Each AT currently accounts for only 2.6% of my level 50’s 😉
  15. I notice you put Armageddon in Lightning Rod. I thought damage procs were pretty much useless there because the pseudopet functionality kept them from working? Have you actually seen that go off? Often? I once tried to proc bomb Spring Attack and it was a spectacular failure.
  16. Rule #2 exists because it makes Rule #5 too much of a non-challenge, and Rule #5 is basically the most challenging part of this by far. It should probably extend to Stalkers though. Doesn’t need to extend to Controllers though because at least those have to be careful with break frees occasionally.
  17. I will accept influence instead, personally.
  18. The sleep makes sense conceptually, but since it’s pretty much useless, why not just make it a higher damage power so the sleep component can just be ignored (the Frozen Aura treatment - which turned into a great power). Then lower the cast time for Shout. Those two steps would constitute a good incremental start, and we could reassess the set’s position from there.
  19. Hard no. Ice is already top tier s/t damage without a snipe, so this would be overpowered. Would be down to consider adding a snipe to Sonic though.
  20. Probably a good idea, but sad and telling that a power’s preferred state is doing nothing. Makes me wonder if it would be better off as a power built-in to pet classes somewhere rather than a pool power.
  21. I send myself messages to [...] powers and see their info. Often use local chat if alone, or send tells between two accounts, but a self message feature could be good for that too.
  22. With its AoE powers. S/T powers are not the problem. Forge is good. Painbringer is good. Temporal Selection is good. All come from good sets. The current state of healing as opposed to buffing/debuffing is not so good. Fortitude and Adrenaline Boost are working great; focus on the powers that aren’t. I’m curious what the buff on the RA’s would look like if they scaled them down to match however much they’d have to scale down the recharge to get them perma (presumably with some work required like with Eclipse or Domination).
  23. Fortitude and Adrenaline Boost do not need buffs. No vote there. More comments on other possibilities later maybe.
  24. If the vendor name wasn’t so on the nose, misconceptions would spread like wildfire and people would start assuming that Pay2Win products should be every bit as much a part of the balance conversation as inspirations and enhancements. When in fact it’s highly debatable whether or not the devs shouldn’t just nuke these vendors from orbit and erase them from the game entirely. The name as is keeps the products in their place.
