It is almost unanimously agreed upon that Serum is one of, if not THE worst, power in the game. It has also been noted that Mercs underperform in every category. Could you change "Serum" to "Swap Ammo" (from Dual Pistols)? This would give the Mercs a "small" boost to their performance while addressing the uselessness of the Serum power. Having Swap Ammo, and choosing whether your Mercs use incendiary, cryo, or chemical rounds, would give such a nice boost to their usefulness. Thanks.

So I decides to roll an Illusion/Dark troller. Trying to plan my Incarnate powers, and not sure what to take for my Alpha. I won't necessarily need the Recharge from Spiritual as I'll have Hasten and PA perma. But the end and defense would be nice. What do you take/any suggestions? Thanks!

Greetings all and thanks for taking time to read this (and hopefully provide some feedback). I'm thinking about rolling a new controller, and have it narrowed down between Illusion/Dark or Fire/Dark. I have plenty of experience with Fire, so i know how it performs. I have limited experience with Illusion. The concept i have either would "fit". My main objective is to contribute as much as possible on a team. However, I would like to go big game hunting (solo AVs/GMs) also. I'm kinda leaning towards Illusion for: 1) haven't played much with Illusion before 2) it "looks" like it should do more damage with Phantom Army and Phantasm duplicating itself 3) Group Invis,in theory, shoukd stack well with the -to hit debuffs in Dark (plus easy LotG mule) 4) Deceive seems like it might be a fun power 5) PA might help keep aggro off of myself So, experts, which do you think would perform better at bringing down AVs/GMs and being a great addition to teams? Thanks in advance!

I never use Fortify Pack. I'll check my beasts' defenses tonight.

There's my build. I hope I exported it correctly. It's rather end heavy, that's why I had to go with Ageless (plus the recharge is always welcome). I attached snippets of my stats and powers/slots just in case. I'm sure it could be made better, but for me, it works.

Greetings all! What's everyone's opinion about this combo? I played Ice Control very little on Live, and have never played Nature. Just wondering what to expect out of it. Thanks!
-
I have a fire/staff and an electric/staff. Staff has a LOT of AoE, so it "feels" like you are doing a ton of damage. I stay in "form of the body". Between fire and electric, I actually prefer the electric more. Capped resists and close to soft capped defenses.
-
Scrappers? All I can say is... NERF Regen!
-
I second Beast/Time. It's a powerhouse...damage,crits, holds,debuffs, heals, defense...you name it.

Greetings once again all! Since Homecoming has come out with new IOs, new Archetype (Sentinel), and a new powerset (Electrical Affinity), I'm curious if there's any thoughts/attempts at a possible new MM primary? Masterminds have the least amount of Primary powersets to choose from, with one being considered the worst primary of any Archetype (Mercs). What's some of your thoughts/ideas/wishlists for a new primary?

Necro/? Advice and Build Request -- Help Please! :)
Xandyr replied to Deadshot7's topic in Mastermind
I've played Necro/Dark and Necro/Thermal. I like both, but I prefer the /Dark more. Keep in mind that you'll also have to resummon Dark Servant every so often. I usually do before I go into another mob. You can slot the Cloud Senses proc in it to help with a little bit more damage. I actually slot 4 pieces of Cloud Senses in the Dark Servant, along with 2 pieces of Miracle (all of the Dark Servant's attacks will do -To Hit Debuff). This MM shines on teams as other players/tank tend to draw the aggro away. All the -To Hit Debuffs are super nice. I also use Howling Twilight (mass rez) to help stun mobs and put a damper on their regen. Overall, a nice fun effective build. Necro/Thermal is also fun and can be effective, especially on teams. Pets will still pump out some -To Hit Debuffs. While they will take damage, you can get their resists pretty high with your shields. Whatever damage they take can usually be healed fairly quickly. It's a bit more "intense" to play because you're constantly watching your pets' health and your teammates' health. I've found at higher levels, a lot of players have chased defense, so the added Resistance your shields bring is a great welcome. I've not played Ninja/Cold, but I do have a Thugs/Cold. Easy to softcap your pets' Defense. It's almost like easy mode. I was able to take a few attacks from the primary and slotted a couple of Procs in them to pump up even more damage. All in all, whether you go with /Dark or /Thermal, you can build them to be fun and effective. For me personally, "fun" is all that matters. -
I made a rad/spines tank (and took Soul Mastery for my epic just to have Darkest Night). It performs very well, and holds aggro good. Of course, it can depend on how you slot your powers as to how well you survive.

Bio/Rad Electric/Staff Rad/Spines I love my Bio/Rad. First real tank I've ever played (and I started waaaaayyyyy back in Issue 2 on Live). The combination of extreme regen, with capped/near capped defenses, and so so resists make for an unstoppable beast. Recently leveled my Electric/Staff. It's just a fun set. And if I decide to go into a fire farm, he will not die. I can walk away and come back 10 minutes later and he's still standing. Rad/spines was fun. Goal was to get as much aggro as possible and hold it. I consider him more of a tank/defender because of the team heal, and i went with Ghost Widow for Darkest Night.
-
I'd have to go with Dark, Rad, or Cold. Then DARE anyone to hit me or my team.

When i get time, I'll jump on mine. I will say that I have both sets of the Superior ATOs, and a few of the Winter sets as well. I slotted Dark Servant with, if i remember correctly, 4 pieces of Cloud Senses and 2 pieces of Miracle. Every attack(and the heal) that the Dark Servant uses also debuffs To Hit, so i wanted to capitalize on that. If you use an Achilles proc, Lady Gray proc, or any other proc in any of your attacks, it DOES NOT MATTER which ammo type you use...they will still have the chance to proc. So, it's possible to build a very proc heavy attack chain, but keep in mind that the Powers That Be have said they intend to reevaluate procs in the future. Take Fearsome Stare and love it. I went Mace Mastery just for the shield (extra defense plus another LotG slot). For what it's worth, I solo'd an ITF with mine. Overall, I'd say my Dark/DP defender is in the top 3 of my favorite toons to play.
-
I solo'd an ITF with my dark/dp defender for what it's worth.

My main tank is Bio Armor. I *could * slot one of these in 3 different auto powers. I was just wondering if it would actually be "worth" doing so. From what I'm hearing, it would be a waste to do so. Better to stick with just 1, maybe 2 to ensure I get a "reliable " proc rate.
-
Has anyone tested this to see if it's supposed to be Unique? Trying to figure out if I should slot 2 or 3 of them. Thanks
-
The KB>KD IO will pretty much do nothing for hurricane. It repels, and every so often you will see a mob get knocked down.

Hi all ! I've been wanting to play /Storm Summoning, and can't decide if I want to play as an MM (Demon/Storm), or as a Storm/x Defender. After debating, I think I've decided on Demon/Storm. I had a Demon/Time on Live, and it was extremely powerful (OK, I admit, /Time with anything is gonna be powerful). However, I'm thinking with the MM Pet IOs that give +Defense, +Resist, coupled with the Defense/Resist from Steamy Mist and Maneuvers, throw in the Ember Shield from Demons, along with the Heal the Ember demon has, and well,,,,,it makes sense that the Demons should have pretty good survivability. Especially since /Storm will help "arrest" faster. Thoughts on the pairing? Thanks

Curious as to why you say /Rad is decent and does the same as other sets but not as well? You can get an absurd amount of -to hit debuff (more than Darkest Night gives), plus you also get -resist/defense and -regen. Granted, the heal isn't as good as Twilight Grasp, but you also get AM, and in emergencies you can unleash EM Pulse. Has the values for Radiation been lowered from Live? My fire/rad troller, on Live, solo'd every GM in the game. Haven't really played much of Rad on Homecoming to see if it's still as potent as it was then.

Having played Ice, Dark, Bio, Stone, and Electric, my most favorite would be Bio. Dark was fun. Soft capped defenses and resists. I paired it with MA, and felt more like a "tanktroller" with all the fear and disorients. I'm currently playing my Electric/Staff and it's a very fun combo. It "feels" SOLID and feels like a good amount of damage (maybe bc you see so many numbers popping up due to all the AoE). Bio is....STRONG. I regen more than Regen scrappers ever thought about. It's not uncommon to hit over 225 HP/Sec. Add on Absorb, massive HP, and solid defenses with respectable resists, and well, you don't die. I paired it with Rad Melee. I've been in teams where the whole team has wiped (including another tank) and i just kept on trucking. I also enjoy the different stances that's available. Of course, nowadays, with IOs and Incarnates, most all tanks can be built to be indestructible. I'm on Excelsior. Global is @ScarlettAngel. Welcome (back) Home.

Hey all, Got my WP/Staff tank to 50, slotted out, and started on Incarnate powers. I'm having a blast with Staff. This is my first WP toon, and I've been impressed with the performance. My main tank is Bio/Rad, so I knew I had the bar set pretty high, but WP hasn't disappointed. However, I'm wondering if I could get better performance from perhaps Electric Armor? Staff seems to have good AoE, and my thought was throwing in a damage aura would add to it, plus help hold aggro. The reason I say Electric is because I've done Fire, Dark, Bio, Ice...and never have done Electric. Playing around in Mids, it looks like resists can be capped to most everything, and still get decent defenses. Does anyone have any experience with this combo? Or any thoughts at all about Electric Armor? Thanks
