Always the last one you try (psi-melee praise)
Major_Decoy replied to FenrisWolf44's topic in General Discussion
With Savage Melee, I just skip any attack that consumes blood frenzy and enjoy the recharge and endurance cost reductions. With water blast, I don't worry about it. It's all gravy. If I've got three stacks, I get a nice bonus. If I don't, I build more stacks. It's good. The one that annoys me is Street Justice's combo breakers. Because the combo system expends the combos even if you don't have three, I feel pressured to only use the finishers when I have three. -
Always the last one you try (psi-melee praise)

I enjoy my Psi stalker, but I have trouble with Assassin's Focus because it seems like by the time my attacks finish animating, I no longer have three stacks of Assassin's Focus. -
If the idea is "you break out of controls faster" wouldn't you just do 200% mez resistance per team mate? With one team mate, durations are a third as long, with eight durations are 6% as long?

As I recall from the beta thread about this change, Staff got the biggest benefit from the changes.

I have any number of Ice builds that don't exist. Or maybe you could give a clearer definition of godlike to aim for.

What's the best combo for getting and keeping aggro?

Doesn't Bio Armour also have two taunt auras? -
Yeah, I was going to say that willpower does a lot more regeneration than Bio, but I don't actually have any bio tanks built for regeneration the way I have a willpower tank built for regeneration. What I noticed is that, while Parasitic DNA (or whatever tier 9 is called) is active, depending on the number of enemies hit, it could be possible to out-regenerate willpower, and I didn't want to sit down and calculate Parasitic uptime and enemies hit, so I just went with softer language.
-
Yes. Stone and Electric both have some nice regeneration buffs, but neither of those sets have regeneration buffs that scale with enemies the way that Bio and Willpower do. And Stone "minimal armor" effects are still shoulder pads and boots.
-
Bio Armour does do excellent regeneration, it's a great set. Willpower can do a lot of regeneration too, it really comes down to the flavour you want. I kind of consider Bio Armour to be a fusion of Radiation and Willpower. It gets smashing/lethal resistance and elemental defenses like willpower and it gets radiation therapy and particle shielding like Radiation.

If this was a buffet, what build should everyone try?
Major_Decoy replied to oedipus_tex's topic in General Discussion
You might try Time. It was one single target buff, Temporal Selection, but since you can't hit the whole team with it, the team won't notice that no one on the team has it. You can skip it. Every other buff is PBAoE, so you don't have to target anyone with them. You just find a time when people are kind of clustered and cast. It's also a support set that's pretty happy being in melee, so you can almost play it as a scrapper. IF CC is crowd control: Mind/Savage is a lot of fun. I had trouble until I figured out just how useful mass hypnosis is while soloing. You just put the whole spawn to sleep, use domination on one target and fight that one held target until it's down, then move onto the next. It's possible without mass hypnosis too, but it's a whole lot more target swapping. -
Did you mean to have Blue Shift as a toggle and forewarned as an Auto? Because there are no auto powers that are debuffs. -Res is one of those "This detoggles when you're mezzed" effects.

Interesting build, but with parry bringing your Melee defense up to 55%, maybe you'd be better off building for Melee defense instead of Smashing/Lethal so you'd be better off 5 or six slotting Superior Gauntleted Fist into Parry instead of Kinetic Combat.
-
If you'd read the post, Hyperstrike specifically said "Suddenly noticed the Resist numbers were bizarre (massive negative). NEVER MIND ON THIS PART! Some dumbass *COUGH* had REST turned on." The weird part is the recovery way too high and the recharge is 100% higher than it should be. I don't have a single force feedback slotted, so it's not that, and I have no idea what would get recovery that high.

I ran a toggle-less ice tank for a while on live.

It's definitely not as easy as that. So, Sleep effects are all auto-hit in pve, but if a power has both sleep and damage, the damage will still have a to-hit roll. I believe that powers like smoke grenade and flash arrow are also both auto-hit (I think procs in an auto-hit power will still have a to-hit roll before they apply their chance for whatever it is they do). Basically, I think that if it does damage, it has a to-hit roll, but that's not to say if it doesn't do damage, it doesn't have a to-hit roll.

Yes, I know. I've got three willpower tanks and... five characters with Rune of Protection.
-
What I get from looking at these number is "If you want an emergency button, you'd be better off taking Rune of Power than Strength of Will"
-
It's possible to hit the Hit Point cap on Willpower. I did it on my Willpower/Super Strength tank. It did take Vigor though. Without vigor, I'm 36 hit points shy of the cap. Edit: I'd probably hit the cap if I took out a Luck of the Gambler and put in a Shield Wall.
-
Yes. There's a max absorb cap of around 1881. If your absorb stacks to hit the stack, then the new application only keeps the amount that it takes to hit the cap, then, when the first application expires, it gets rid of its absorb score, leaving you with just the new application. I noticed it when my absorb kept switching between 1100 and 781 on my radiation armour tank.

Soloing and destined to fail missions
Major_Decoy replied to Without_Pause's topic in General Discussion
Really? I got one of those (It was the level 20-25, I think Frankie Drake or something) on Blazing Idiot and I actually had to kite him to the door to fail the mission. He just kept on walking back to his default spawn point. The Bank Safeguard missions, however... (not Blazing Idiot, so I wasn't playing to fail) I got the boss, but there must have been a minion I never saw. And there was only one exit out of the bank. -
You're not being asked to rank them. You're being asked how you'd rank them. I would rank them in descending order of number of attacks able of being slotted with Knockback enhancements.
