  1. FWIW Frosticus has a nice Plant/Poison troller approach which (if I'm not mistaken) looks like this. Maybe there are some poison tips in there. The idea is that Seeds of Confusion works pretty well with the -res in poison to get mobs killing each other. Maybe there are some tips in the Poison slotting. Note the build basically requires Ageless and Nerve incarnates to function well. Accuracy and End are killers.
  2. I looked all through the thread and can't find the Fire/Stone build. Can you relink it please?
  3. Do you have a Fire/Stone build you like? Folks I run with were saying that Fire Armor can put out enough AoE with its Aura and Burn that the lack of AOE in the Stone Melee set is OK especially if you use an Epic that has something like Dark Oblit (proc'd) or maybe Fireball. Maybe even skip Tremor?
  4. I guess generally the answer is always FIre/* 😆 Overall I think blappy secondaries benefit from primaries that have good pbaoe (or targeted aoe you can cast near/around yourself), which Fire has (as do others) but of course FIre brings the damage and dead enemies can't hurt you. I'd probably avoid primaries with cones. Water could be good if you really want more mitigation (but dead enemies can't hurt you either). Nothing really wrong with Rad or even Psi, per se, but I like the quick animations and targeted AOE of Fire. DP/Dark as mentioned would likely be stylish but so is DP/Martial, at that point you just should find what's fun.
  5. +rchrg FF procs too in Stone attacks that take KD/KB. I'd also keep Heavy Mallet and Fault on the consideration list for this reason. Curious to see how people look at slotting this. I was torn between a Bio/Stone and Fire/Stone concept (ppl say Fire/Stone will still do more damage with the damage aura and Burn).
  6. If you're only playing at range and avoiding Blaster 2ndary melee attacks, I'd consider Elec/Bio sentinel. It's probably the only Sentinel that approaches mid-range Blaster damage and it plays (almost) entirely at range. In my build below you could swap out Mind Probe for a non-melee attack or just keep it as a set mule. It has a decent ST-chain, the AOE (Ball) is up a lot, and nuke is fast recharge - just has that annoying 10-target sentinel cap and no Build Up, but Bio's +dmg helps. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1497;709;1418;HEX;| |78DA6594C96ED3501486AF639B92369D87246DD2C11D92747012608F281D54DA8AD| |0486C232B35C1284DAA240B58F2068C62C30B74C39A8760DC319549053A53897981| |CCB1FF43142991ACEFFA3FA3EF3D37CB57677C0FE6AF9F1652CBD9BC512E67D266A| |16215CCBCBA6CE4ACAC707E0DF40CFED7332B462167AEEAB379335B295959239F99| |A6C08A567598312F9985B2A94F5BC5CCF952CE2858D9CC99D25AB1241A53C5625E4| |FAF9BE6AACF5D2E99C6BA55C835B92F73792B77B9D28CB5B3244B7076DDCAEAD5D4| |A9B29559A66266E95A809A8AD1F33922F8672BE285224452119E97CC57A0F29AF90| |6F43B81921B238BEF32695E71EC07F31778FCB7435504C85782AF241D29B0FD0483| |64936153E56EC9CDDD3827830BC8E33BC75C849EFC066E53DF2AFA56D58FF069D96| |27E814FDB43016A78EFF0A82E7722381427B621EE71633A26C12E9D99007B921E37| |A667123936A8672F7AB677294F13F288A60DF8ED91D6CCB99B63E827C0B1018302C| |38AE85DC3B7F6CE420F6D625F7B29772B722BAD21B685C1FE7EE6007310DCA77AED| |7C7EED9B1E37FFE05BE63BE67B70E803BF539D4EEEB1731B3D0EED3077C1E13DE63| |EF300D468E3BAF93CBB2784AB8D307BC8E6679B9FCF73E4AF706B7AC916844D04D9| |A6511F7DACF50DE3AC24F20BA337399C22689463051CBBC04C8387F4ED03FC1D038| |F3053638FC1C813E653E63330F61C1CA6DA1ACFB0C6331CE3198EF10C8FFF01B7C8| |7794EB8CDEC0598DDF64DE02276F33EF30EF829F2836CAB1D179CCD4D40266658AE| |7618AE721CE7312BF4FEE1145C8B41713BC9F137EF8C64FC047219B0E9B476F93DC| |BCC92E26EFEF10D54EF07C26D288BFE2DC5DF7E6D87648A9DE7DE7D5B6C5529D925| |2F8AA9322B9CA4163F5460B894FEDB0568B42FB5AAB5D444747B5DA3DECC2785DCD| |449D92AC534ED629A7EA146F1BFDBF40B11769E0937C6FFB9C3BCC7AA866DD5FB3F| |E07707CF6AC| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  7. It would be even cooler if it applied actually Scrapper-type crits and not the proc-type additional damage X-D
  8. Ok, here's my Elec/Nin rebuild attempt that was inspired by the comments above. I had to keep Tactics to deal with the low accuracy in the proc-only attacks. It basically got rid of the 2 things I hated in Elec/Nin due to anim time and low damage (Short Circuit / Lotus Drops) and focused on higher damage output / procs while sacrificing some defense - down from self soft-cap to S/L/E/R to 1 small purple from soft-cap to S/L/E/R, which is likely fine and easy to carry stacks or get buffs on teams. I'm not a huge fan of Volt Sent, but I had a spare power pick and 4 slots to use to pick up the set bonuses. I suppose it's "Free" damage. Anyway, open to ideas. 9. Cool, thanks for the explanation. I may rebuild the Elec/Nin to focus more on dmg like yours and give up def. My other blasters are generally more defense oriented (I leeroy a lot) so it wouldn't hurt to have one more focused on dmg. I think I feel the lack of AOE on Elec/* more due to the lack of FIreball and Thunderous Blast being meh-sauce. Short Circuit really sucks between low damage and animation time. on ROF, the nice thing about */Elec is you get two big-area KDs in Thunderstrike and Force of Thunder (with KD procs and +rcrg procs) that keeps stuff in your ROF - so if you open with ROF, and then rotate them with FIreball (when Inferno isn't up) you get great mitigation and stuff just ticking away in your rains. I use Thunderstike for aoe-goodness when Inferno isn't up or when I need the mitigation of the KD (i.e., Leeroying)
  10. I must be missing something. I have an Elec/Nin and while GD is nice, it doesn't make me feel like the set is OP or meaningfully better than, say, /Elec .. With /Elec you get a strong melee / pbaoe in Thunderstrike (larger radius) which also KD's stuff to keep in your Rain of Fire (vs. Nin's small radius weak PBAOE in Lotus Drops), and honestly a proc'd out Shocking Grasp doesn't feel much weaker to me than GD (even with -RES) ... /Elec also gives you two place to slot +recharge FF procs (vs 1 in GD). Sure, Choking Powder proc'd out is nice (about the same as Positron Cell in Atomic proc'd out), but it does have a slow projective travel time. In short, I think /Nin is OK but not great as a secondary and I don't see the damage you're mentioning, but who knows? Maybe I'm slotting it wrong or doing a wrong rotation.
  11. I believe this was changed to be an extra-dmg proc chance on all attacks (though it's weaker on big aoes / stronger attacks) when it's running. They call it a chance to "crit" but it's like a small dmg proc. The biggest issue with Ninja's PBAOE sword attack, imho, is the very tiny radius. Even compared to Atom Smasher or End of Time, and esp compared to Thunderstrike. As people note, /Ninja will be OK end-game esp when paired with FIre, but you won't be min-maxing your secondary. If you're OK with that go for it. And don't forget to slot -RES procs and +rchrg Force Feedback proc in GD.
  12. Love to see it thanks. I keep wanting to like Beam but I made a Beam/Temporal on test and honestly it feels weaker in every way than my Fire/Elec, Fire/Atomic and even a new Water/Atomic pbaoe blapper ... the aoe on Beam seems really lacking even with disintegrate spread (esp. considering on a team things die so quickly that dots are not great), and the single-target doesn't seem meaningfully better than Fire or proc'd out Water (I posted by Water/Atomic build yesterday in the blaster section). I want to like Beam - help me lol.
  13. 3 pages of thread and I still have no idea how to use this sheet, lol
  14. When I looked at Beam/Dev at range, it looks like you give up a lot of stuff in Dev like Taser and Trip Mine (and I don't like toe bombing at all, anyway). Plus Dev doesn't have buildup right? What is it you like about Beam/Dev -- say vs a Beam/Plant focused on range only. Any builds to share? Cheers,
  15. This is the Water/Atomic blaster I've been working on, on Test, this weekend. I have a Fire/Atomic (Inhuman Target) and a Water/Plant (Water The Plant) so I'm familiar with the sets - the idea was to put them together and live in melee to take advantage of beta decay. The KD and the +rchrg procs mean a lot of AOE is up most of the time, and Whirlpool + Fold Space is great for when they start to run. I didn't take Atom Smasher - I have it on my Fire/Atomic, but Water already brings substantial AOE and frankly the animation (long) and the radius (relatively short) made me want to do without it. Rad Cloud is up every spawn and a good oh-crap button as well as way to keep stuff in whirlpool (esp with the bonus accuracy after a Combat Teleport). I went to get S/L/R at 32%+ so they (nearly) soft-cap with 1 small purple. Positron Cell proc'd out hits like a truck and is the gem of the set for attacks (it also lets you proc Gamma Ray with Negaton Slam). 16. The great thing about this game is you can play how you like, for sure. I'm not yucking your yum. But for the OP, I'd point out that you only slotted 3 powers from /Atomic and one of those, the hold, you 4-slotted as a hold instead of proccing it out for damage which works well on blaster holds. The reason I suggested /Plant or /Energy is that for a relatively low investment in the secondary set, you get powers that can help with ranged / ranged damage. Atomic shines with Beta Decay (which requires you to be surrounded by mobs) and has OK-ish PBAOE attacks like Atom Smasher and even Radioactive Cloud. If you're not using those and Atomic's melee attacks, it could be that a different secondary would offer more. Again, play as you like.
  17. the immobilize proc and -res procs ain't too bad on blasters if you can spare the slots, for your Rain
  18. And on a related topic, it appears that damage from scrapper secondaries doesn't crit - I'm looking at you Ground Zero and Radiation Therapy, at least as far as I can tell.
  19. @GraniteAgent back on live .... i'm on Excelsior and honestly the Task Force Junkies crew is the closest I've found to RO, but always up to hang with RO folks. My current globals are @monktastic and @fusion king
  20. And don't forget 1-2 whip attacks for style points and delivering some -RES while getting that FF +rchrg! Yay Demons! Build (my live):
  21. High level: the demons have pretty good baked-in resists, including the shield they cast (one of the Gargoyle's casts a resist buff I think), and with dark you debuff the bejeezus out of everything's to-hit (effectively raising your def). And your heal in Dark, plus Fluffy (dark pet) fill in the gaps. This thread for the win:
  22. The correct answer is Demons/Dark 😜
  23. Fire/Elec blaster and get all blappy with it. Try sentinel for something new from Live -- I'm not saying it's awesome sauce, but it's worth a try to get a feel for the game again.
  24. Fireball is my standard lol
  25. I still can't get past the Neutron Bomb animation .... so sloooooow
