Fun movie. Hard to believe it is not Squirrel Girl. Flora, a girl (I'm guess around 10) sees a squirrel get sucked in by her robotic vacuum. Her dad is a failed comic book writer. She knows how science accidents turn people into superheroes, so she believes the squirrel may have become a superhero and names it Ulysses. The show is mostly about her trying to hide that she has a squirrel while bringing it everywhere with her, plus her parents are split up and she wants them to get back together. Flora is in basically every scene and is great. It's a goofy, fun movie.

Are alternate powers within powersets possible?
DougGraves replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
I don't think there should be individual power choices. I think there should be themed choices like in SoA Crab vs the weaker SoA. I would like to see Defender primaries having two sets - team and solo. You cannot mix and match. So you are just balancing the sets. But it would allow a defender to have a teaming build and a solo build. You could make a FF defender and be able to solo. -
Are alternate powers within powersets possible?
DougGraves replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
I really want alternate powers. I don't like pets. I would love to play a controller who could take an attack in place of their pets. Defenders could have alternate powers for the only affect allies powers. Give them a power they can use when soloing. -
I was on a team and someone was named Senjin. I jokingly asked if they were a beach volleyball player. They responded yes "Sinjin Smith". They knew the top American pro beach volleyball players from the 80's. I am often on teams quoting Big Trouble in Little China and other classic movies. But they also know the other details of life from long ago.

Focused Feedback: Power Changes (Build 1)
DougGraves replied to Arcanum's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I would swear moonbeam is a fraction of a second not between 1.33 and 1.67 seconds. Only sniper rifle seems to take longer than a second. But I have not timed it. -
Focused Feedback: Power Changes (Build 1)

With the rooting animation changes and fast snipes being normalized, has the long activation for the assault rifle fast snipe been fixed? It is much slower than the other fast snipes, at least the animation is. -
One request: cosmetic partial invisibility

I've used Phil Graves but not Filmore Graves, I'll have to use that instead. -

I wish I was a little bit taller. I wish I was a baller. I wish I had a contact who let me call her. -
The Warriors are boring - is that a problem?
DougGraves replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
We all know what the players really want in a Greek warrior themed group: oiled, muscled men in red speedos with helms and shields. -
Players have unlimited power. The problem you have is that they reach it. The devs could simply wipe the characters and make it harder to reach unlimited power. Remove AE farming, remove the XP multipliers, etc. Make IO sets massively expensive. But the players wanted to reach the end quickly. They wanted unlimited power quickly and effortlessly.

Colonization, Moo2, Civilization. I am replaying Lego Star Wars on the Wii with my wife. Not endless replay, but we love the Nancy Drew games from Her Interactive. There are about 30 of them and we just replayed them all last year with our daughter. So we've played each of them 4+ times.

How well does knockback/down work at higher levels?
DougGraves replied to dekova's topic in General Discussion
It depends on what you mean by higher level and if you are assuming IO set bonuses. At incarnate play with IO sets, everyone is assumed to have soft capped defense and decent resistances. And ridiculous damage. So the only thing that matters at that point is how much damage you can do. -
I can't talk about it. We have the episodes recorded but have not watched them yet.

I was very disappointed by how this all ended. The beginning of the show was fun and different. But it ended up with the cliched MCU battle between a hero and villain who was a slightly different version of themself. Wanda vs a witch and Vision vs a different Vision. This felt like they gave up on creativity and just tacked on a standard MCU fight and ending.

If I were designing the game, I would make scrapper taunt power win any taunt contest - the one thing they taunt aggros on them. But also give the taunt a buff power on the scrapper based on the difficulty of the thing they taunt (pet, minion, AV, etc.). So scrappers would want to taunt the toughest thing in the room to get the biggest buff they could.

What's Your Favorite Trade Paperbacks Old and New?
DougGraves replied to kosten07's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I read Alien Legion in the original comics. I loved it. -
I live in Seattle. Grunge is not dead here. The rest of the country just stopped dressing like us and listening to our music.

WandaVision, Quicksilver, and the X-Men - Spoilers
DougGraves replied to DougGraves's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
Yeah, I don't think Deadpool is popular so much as Ryan Reynold's version of him. If they change actors I doubt it would be as successful. Starting fresh with the X-men makes sense from a casting perspective, at least after Dark Phoenix. I don't think any of the x-men cast from that were particularly popular. I do think keeping McAvoy as Prof X would work and be a good tie-in. -
So Quicksilver from the X-Men movies showed up in WandaVision. He is probably the most popular character from the X-Men movies so it makes sense. But then he is revealed to be fake, created by Agatha Harkness. How do you want the MCU to incorporate the X-men characters and the X-men movies, and how do you think they will do it? I think they can make the movies part of the multiverse. But then would they have the x-men be retconned to being always part of the MCU? I would like to see a return to the X-men as young students. Redo X-men first class so that mutants are introduced into the MCU rather than having the X-men been secretly operating. Although antman and the wasp were operating secretly, so that has been done.

Remarkable Marvel foreshadowing
DougGraves replied to Techwright's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I've read that they put in a lot easter eggs and references in the movies to have hooks for later. They don't intend to use them, but they are there in case they decide to pick up on it later. -
Blood & Treasure - James Bond crossed with Indiana Jones
DougGraves replied to DougGraves's topic in Off-Topic
I've been trying to find a way to watch Hooten and the Lady. Blood and Treasure did not end on a cliffhanger - it wrapped up the story. -
Welcome back. It was a surreal experience randomly looking up CoH and finding out it was back. The sort of thing you think only happens in stories.
