  1. Some leagues are really good about doing the banner events, hunting the giant monsters, and doing the Zombie Apocalypse. But I have been on plenty that just sit at Motel 666. I think you will be more likely to get the banner events and the Zombie Apocalypse done on Everlasting or Excelsior during prime time.
  2. You mean like this? I thought one of the helicopters had a propeller on it, but the one I used didn't have one. So I guess none of the base stuff is animated on that level. Images converted to .jpeg to take up less room on the forum server.
  3. Any decent supergroup base can take you to any zone you want to go to in Paragon City, The Isles, or Praetoria. If you haven't built a sg base for yourself, yell out in /help and someone (probably more than one) will offer you a base passcode to get into a base (sometimes even their base) to use to get around the game. The two train lines were already connected. You used to have to go from the south side of Steel Canyon to the the north side of Steel Canyon on foot to get to the other line that would take you to the higher level zones. To add this feature, an area of each map would have to have room made for a tram station. The tram lines have a monorail running from them that snakes through the zone. This would have to be added into every zone that a tram was added. The Isles use the flyers and ferries and don't have any trams. I think that they go wherever you can go on the Isles, but I haven't paid much attention since before the Sunset. I think all of Praetoria is connected within its own system but I don't even think I've ever bothered to use that transport system.
  4. I think that they show up in Atlas Park at night still. Someone else posed a quote, but I didn't look at it. Basically, the holiday events are automated at this point and part of the automation process didn't allow for the window decorations outside of Altas for some reason or another. To turn those on in other zones would require patching and unpatching to start and end the event (as I understand it).
  5. It seem pretty clear that they would need to rename any of the names that they don't want a number after if the original name was taken by someone else while they were away from the game. I could happen to some, none, or all of their characters.

  7. If there is a zone event and you are in that zone, they should spawn around you. It seems to me that is more likely for them to spawn if you are standing on grass, but that doesn't alway seem to be the case at this point (the area in the parking lot in front of portal corps in Peregrine Island for instance). I have had them spawn around my character - solo - on a rooftop in First Ward this year, so I really don't know what is going on before. It never seemed like it was level related to me before. I don't play 50's all that often and tend to play lower to mid-range characters most of the time at this point.
  8. Hopefully, this will help for now. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Emote_Pool
  9. I think there is enough farming of ToT GMs from merits that they don't need a Monstrous Aether added onto the spoils.
  10. Interesting. Yes, I would see this as costume parts and not "material" like the have in DCUO. I do like the idea of "materials" to be used as option in the costume parts in general. That is to have costume "customization" as it were to decide if the material the costume is made out of is flat color, dull metallic, shiny metallic, rough fabric, silk, etc. I know that some of these things are already worked into some of the costume parts, but some of the ones that you would assume to be metallic don't have a metallic option. It also adds more costume variations. In another game that I played, the costume parts could be altered in this matter. The costume parts were built in a layered gif file - if I remember correctly. You basically had a template for custom parts that players could modify. Once loaded into the game files, the game knew to use that base pattern to overlay the costume onto the character. One of the things that players could do to manipulate the costume files was to add transparency, metallic shine, etc to a section or sections of the template (the template could also be used to remove parts of the costume but not add to it). Color and/or texture layers could also be added to all or various parts of the pattern. The method that this game uses to code the costume parts seems intentionally hard to manipulate based on the posts that I have seen.
  11. First, I started playing in 2004 as well. So you have no seniority over me as far as game play. You are overly defensive toward power-leveling (replying to my comment about power-leveling through AE-farm door sitting and joining level-50 radio mission teams) by extrapolating my comment into a bunch of other instances that I did not state. Sure. There is nothing in the CoC says that say you can't ruin other players game experience by doing what you are stating. I don't think that you care about what other players think if you think that behaving in that manner to teammates on a team of characters that are leveling is your right regardless of what the rest of the group thinks. If you are on my team doing that, you are going to get warned and then you are going to get the boot. ... and, guess what, that isn't against the CoC either. Also, if I'm not having fun on a team - for example if there is someone on a team that is doing what you are suggesting that someone would like to do for "fun" - then I would most likely leave the team as politely as I could at the soonest opportunity. If other people on the team complained about a character doing what you are suggest, then I would also complain to the team leader about it. And, if there were enough complaints, I would hope that the team lead woud boot that character from the team. If a teammate complained and I backed them up, and the team lead came back with ... say "Oh, he's a friend of mine. It's fine", then I would most likely immediately leave the team. Other players are free to behave as they like as long as they aren't breaking the CoC. Outside of that, we can state what we as players feel to be respectable conduct. You have expressed yours. I have expressed mine. It doesn't appear that either of us will change our minds on our stances. The game provides us with tools to use against players that we find to have issues that we would rather not game with/deal with during our gaming time when we are trying to have "fun". For example, if I feel someone is behaving in a way that I have to boot them from a team, I may very well put them on ignore so that I can't see them sending tells to try to join teams that I'm recruiting for (at least until they spill out the otherside of the very short - in my opinion - ignore list). The same could go for someone that is "steamrolling" content instead of playing as part of a team. I'm sure there are those that don't care. I do. Other players to. I think it is important in life to be respectful of other people. I don't think it is respectful to join a team and then not play as part of the team because you would rather solo because being a teammate is boring. That is how I see it. Good for you. You have found what you like. I have found that I do not like the end-game, but not simply because of the behavior/mind-set of L337 end-gamers. I have 3 50's here. Last 50 dinged probably well over a year ago, but I don't keep track. I am not going to get another 50. I'm level-locking/turning off XP at 49 if a character gets that far. Most of the time, I level-lock.turn off XP at the level of power that I feel is rational to that character's conception and/or to avoid leveling past content that I want them to play before continuing to level or to have them available to play content at or around that level. So there you go. We are looking at this from two different angles/viewpoints. Of course, you support level 50's joining lower level content, not playing as part of the team, and steamrolling lower-level content because apparently you are that kind of gamer. It is what you do. It is how you play. Therefore you support it. makes no sense. If you had been paying attention this thread, I thumbs down one of your posts because I read it while reading other posts on this thread. And, my reply was to the OP and what they are asking and not ot other people's posts. At least come of the posts on communication I gave the thumbs up or thanks ... but ... if I remember correctly ... some of them might have said things that I disagreed with so I either didn't react to it or reacted to it negatively. Yes. Communication is important if a teammate is acting in a way that someone on the team disagrees with for one reason or another. That can be through /team channel or by /t to the team lead so that they can deal with the situation as they see fit. lol. I already do that. Maybe you should pay more attention. Like maybe check my post count. I'm not "demonizing" anyone. You are being overly defensive because you support the kind of behavior that I find disrespectful. I guess I hit a nerve - which was kind of the point. Other people don't like the kind of behavior that is being discussed. Just because people that like to play that way support it, doesn't mean that the 7 other players on the team appreciate that behavior. Players that "lone wolf" - run off and do their own thing while they are on a team - should know that other players are on a team are on a team to be playing as a team and they aren't door sitters there to increase the mob-size for the level 50 that wants to steamroll the content. In general, if you are on at team. It is respectful to stay with the team and not run off and do your own thing. If you are level 50 and you can steam roll the content, maybe that player should be the one to ask the team lead in /team for them to steamroll the content so that not only the team lead, but all they team can decide on how they want to "enjoy" their game time. That way that team lead can make it clear to the team from the start that they expect. So yeah. The 50 can communicate as well. ... and maybe if you are a level 50 on a team and you are bored with the content, you can quit and find something else to do that isn't boring.
  12. Yes. If you are on a team, play like you are on a team. Stay with your teammates and help them. And, if you are way above the level of the content, perhaps make another character to play the content at level instead of bringing in a 50 to disrupt people trying to play characters on level with the that content. You have plenty of slots to make alts. I know personally, I don't like it when someone brings in a 50 to game (versus end-game) content and they steamroll everything. It ruins the challenge and the fun for me. Great. I hope that if it annoys the people on the team that you are teaming with tell you so. ... but then again, why aren't you looking for that bigger challenge to begin with? As indicated, you can make another character to run game content. If you wanted to get a badge for something, why didn't you do it while you were leveling up your character? Many people these days - or so it seems - simply get power-leveled to 50 without playing any of the game ... I don't count AE or joining level-50 radio missions teams to get to 50 as playing the game (it is bypassing playing the game).
  13. What are your notoriety settings for this "typical, normal solo radios"? Mine would be +2, x2 into the 30s and probably +3, x2 by the 40.
  14. And so the more accounts you have the more Winter card packs you can get to pass to your main account? Hard no on this one. No. They don't drop. "...They cost 25,000,000 inf on the Auction House..." - https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Super_Pack/Lords_of_Winter People have been known to run around during the Winter Holiday Event and give out card packs. Perhaps some of them will give out some Lords of Winter packs this year.
  15. I don't think most Holds will take Devastation, but I may be wrong. I don't see the point really as the hold already is a hold. Yes. I use lockdown in hold powers and devastation in some ranged powers - depended upon character conception. I tend to use devastation in low damage ranged attack powers only. I like putting the devastation on the arcane blast power - seems to fit thematically to me. If I have one target held with the hold power, I'll generally attack an active target and try to keep the held target held with the hold as it recharges. So the ranged attack with the devastation proc has a chance told another foe. If I have more than one hold on a character, I will slot 2 additional lockdowns into a power(s) that I have the proc in. I tend to use a second devastation in a power that I equip the proc into. I always tend to slot 2 accs in every thing. Hold I tend to 2 slot acc, then recharge, then hold, then as the character levels up the lockdowns (keeping the two accs and the hold most of the time - if it is a slow recharge secondary hold, I'll sometimes keep the recharge and only 2 slot lockdown) I would have to dig. I have to go stop some supernatural creatures haunting a motel for a bit ....
  16. Though you could easily simply use the option to retrieve the global when the player is online, I can see how this might be useful to some that have a large number of players (vs characters) involved in a supergroup. Myself, I would have no need for this options, so I can't really push for it. More than everyone in my supergroups are already in my global friends list and I can see them online using that feature. If you need the globals for communication purpose, I would suggest making a post for your your sg in the Shard/Server subform related to your sg and put the link to that in the message of the day for your sg in-game. This would give you more space to communicate than the sg message of the day. This might even give your sg more traction for gaining more participation in-game.
  17. Hey, if you all could control Giant Monsters and run them around the City to fight with heroes that sounds like a great time from this end. I don't know how much fun it would be for the DEVs and GM's to get swarmed by players, but it might be enjoyable to smack the players around ever once in a while. I was just on a Giant Monster team tonight again. It was a lot of fun. Managed not to get knocked out this time!
  18. I don't think that is true. There are those of us that would want to retain the drops as they are, and we could chose not to convert/tier up the insp drops by combining or not. I don't think that is true. There are still DO's and SO's even though the invention system was added to the game. No need to go overboard on trying to go against this. I think we both know it most likely won't happen at any rate. And I would be against that. That I why I put in my 3 suggestions in regard to the OP's idea. I'm sure that the players "awash with inf" aren't going to be worried if the inps become cheaper on the /AH market. Honestly, I think most players that stock on the /AH market are using it for their own or other people's convenience. I can't say that I haven't overpriced insps on the /AH market to see what it could bear for those that don't have patience or feel like they have time to go to an insp vendor to buy them at the base price ... because I most definitely have. The only characters that can make any discernible infl on the market for selling even the large insps are a new character being played by a new player that doesn't have other characters to email infl around. Come on. We can ask for whatever we want. Most of the time we aren't likely to get it for one reason or another, but we obviously always can ask. I think it is a cool mechanic to add to the "3 insp conversion" mechanic. Obviously, you do not. I agree that we have both made our points. Thanks for the discussion/debate <---- I'm pretty sure that we can agree on that 😉
  19. Thanks. I pull them so rarely that I thought the other high level ones did as well.
  20. Temporal Warrior are PvP characters that you can generate from the character creation screen that start at level 50.
  21. Reminds me of the good Ol'days when sometimes the DEVs (and GMs?) would sometimes invade a zone as a Giant Monster or AVs and actually play the characters (or so it seemed). Epic server-busting battles with DEVs running foes with gargantuan amounts of HP to make for a titanic battle surpassing Giant Monster hunting ... which I'm really glad that has been going on at this point ... but have to admit that we seem to be a little bit better than we should be against them ... most of the time. I remember this one time when some Giant Monster or another was on top of Atlas City Hall duking it out for a good long time. Not like I would want to see this happen every day or anything, but things like this out of the blue are really cool even if they happen on days/times that I can't game.
  22. UltraAlt

    Annihilus?

The game isn't built to balance player characters and enemy characters ... especially AVs. AVs have alway been allowed to do things player characters can't.
  23. Yes. You wouldn't have to any more. Yes. It would be that cheap if you wanted to take the time to do it that way. It could also be used to combine/tier up insps while in missions - which is really my take on this plan (that it is for more for in mission/adventure) versus taking time to grind out higher tier insps. That being said, I'm fine is someone wants to sit around and using their crafting time to make higher Tier insps to sell on the /AH. Yes. You can take it for free. And I do know that some players simply use it to crank out high tier insps so that they can sell them even at the slow rate of 3 per 30 minutes. I covered that. Because they are already existing in the game, and - see my quote above about the various tiers not being unlocked until the character reaches the level that they would unlock anyway. There are still a good number of us that don't just play level 50's. And there are some of us that virtually never play level 50's. I have 3. I won't be leveling any more past 49. I rarely ever play my level 50's. I do as well. We agree on somethings and we disagree on others. I see that the game has been made easier to play both before the Sunset and here at Homecoming. I don't think that is going to change. I don't see this so much as making the game easier to play, but adding something in that would be interesting. What is really the difference between a character having higher tier insps through this method versus buying them on the the /AH or using Inner Inspiration? The only difference seems to be infl. So this would help the players that don't have a lot of influence, and ... even as you have admitted ... really wouldn't impact someone on the /AH that was trying to generate infl as as selling insps is a very inefficient way of doing so. Market PvP is the most balanced PvP in CoH. Yep. And I buy hundreds of them. I think I opened over 50 last night during a 3 hour game session while another player was taking bios while we were in missions. When the Winter Packs were on sale for 10mil, I bought over 100 of them. Haven't bought any of them since then. They will apparently never go on sale of 10mil again. Like I said. I rarely ever use the ones that I have saved up from the card packs. I'm more likely to use the team ones (saved up from card packs) but that is usually only limited to AV encounters. But even if we are talking about selling drops from card packs - that 1 insp would be only 1 of the 5 drops in card packs. The H/V and V/R packs usually drop at least 1 archetype enhancement if not 2. And obviously, the idea that is proposed wouldn't stop the ability to get those higher tier inps through other methods, it would simply add an additional way to get them. Would it be easier? On a mission, yes. Out of a mission? It would be tedious, and I think many players would go the easier routes and not bother to crank them out.
  24. Isn't the whole point of multiboxing to be "exploitive"? I mean I'm assuming that multiboxing would fall within the same protection that has been given to power-leveling and AE farming, but I would consider all three to be "exploitive". Not trying to nitpick and I know that all three have been pretty much condoned as being acceptable, but they are all shortcuts to greater rewards than intended ... and I would think obviously so during an Event with a multibox team ... even if the team lead isn't AFK.
