  1. This why I would really like to see a dual pistol melee set. Close range shots (nothing outside of normal melee combat range) and pistol whipping for the win. I do love a dual pistol/martial arts blaster though. Lots of fun. Knock enemies flying with ki push and blast them in the air when they are in "bullet time".
  2. Well, too late for regrets ... I guess we must put Enchantica on "the list" immediately.
  3. Well those were actually the ones that I was trying to talk about. The lead bank robbers in safeguards. I understood that the other parts of the scanner system didn't involve signature villains.
  4. So you couldn't complete this by simply running level 50 scanner missions in Peregrine Island then - is that correct?
  5. I put an idea over here: ... for a path on this that the DEVs might be more on board with as it doesn't require scaling up enemy groups that weren't meant for higher level content nor adding more missions to the existing system. I guess in some ways it is opposite of what you are suggesting as it would level-down characters that want to participate in the radio/newspaper/? mission path structure, but it would allow characters that have reached the level of the content of a zone that has access to be exemplar'ed down (if need be) so that they do not exceed the level of the content of the zone in order to run missions in the the radio/newspaper/? system that already exists. Why do I believe this more possible and more easily executed than what you are suggesting? It allows the same missions that already exist for the radio/newspaper/? with no need to add additional missions or re-scale the enemies. All it requires is setting up a contact in each zone that would normally provide radio/newspaper/? missions (maybe just one zone to start with to test it out) that would work as a contact for the radio/newspaper/? taskforce that is tied into the existing radio/newspaper/? system so that it can pull missions from it. Essentially it worked the way that the Ouroboros system works. It seems far less complicated to implement than the other way around.
  6. Yet you did say: Which requires unlocking that content by "Defeat 25 "signature villains", initially encompassing Safeguard Mission villains, but later expanded to many different groups." - https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Villain_Disruptor_Badge Though you can technically do this at level 10 by being to teams that run the safeguard missions. I'm assuming level 50's can do this by running 25 safeguards at level 50 and regardless of the number of defeats of the same "signature villain" leading to that total. I have a feeling that the number of players that do this are actually few in number - especially based on this post: If it is a scanner taskforce, I don't see any reason that the reward would be related to another contact that has nothing to do with the scanner task force.
  7. I fully understand that some players only run level 50's. You consider that to be "most of us". They may very well be true at this point. The Community tries to push as many players to level up to 50 as quickly as possible. Personally, I think that is a bad idea and removes a sense of accomplishment for leveling up through playing the game, but we each play our own way. And it is obvious to me that some players that really only want to play end-game content would not be interested in this idea. They only reason that they would want to pander to lower level content would be for the merits. And then they really don't want to play, they just want to speed through the content as quickly as possible for the merits. Yes. And there is a reward, you even say what two of the rewards are. You still get normal drops from scanner missions. Maybe we should spice it up and add progress toward being a hero for successfully defeating the bank robbers in the safeguard mission? Or maybe badges for each zone's scanner task force? I don't see how anyone is "locked in" when anyone can leave a team or task force whenever they like. You aren't "locked in" any more than you would be for a normal task force and there is no penalty if leave a scanner tasks force before doing a safeguard - other than not running the safeguard which would mean they would not get the temp power or the exploration badge if they need it.
  8. I don't get migraines but bright lights hurt my eyes and, at some points, there is just too much of a lightshow to be able to see what I'm fighting. The main things I find to be useful: /macro fx0 "noparticles 1" Turns particles off. This will mean that you won't see the VFX for most powers. You'll still see some VFX from certain powers, but the ones that still display are still a lot easier on the eyes. /macro fx1 "noparticles 0" Turns the particles back on ... but not completely until after you zone. menu>options>graphics and audio>advanced graphics settings>suppress FX when close This used to not work, but it is working at this point. I'm not sure all that it covers as I haven't really done much testing of it versus just the /noparticles This mainly targets the character itself from what I can tell. However, if you go to a taylor, you won't be able to see the VFX of any of your character's powers to be able to customize them if this is enabled.
  9. What if radio missions stayed the same way that they are but - in addition - a contact in the police stations in each zone could turn a team into: 1) a task force with set level max of the zone (possibly have minimum level requirement to join as well so that it has minimum and maximum levels like any other task force. The task force level being that of the lead or the max level if the team leader exceeds the max level for the zone.) 2) only able to take radio missions from the scanner -or- calls go to that contact and they respond the same way the police scanner does 3) the taskforce would continue until a safeguard is completed - or -, maybe easier to deal with, until the last player quits the task force? This would, of course, change a character's level for street fighting purposes the way any other task force would. It would sort of be like the Ouroboros flashbacks but without merits.
  10. I'm sure I have. Most likely. I'm a character conception player, so generally I don't make a character based on a power set (unless a new power set is coming out and I want to check it out. Sorry, Ars Ass. [https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Arsenal_Assault] and Ars Con [https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Arsenal_Control].) That doesn't mean that I don't have a character conception that doesn't end up with the same power sets, but it is most likely that each of the characters will end up with different power picks and slotting due to character conception. However, most times that I multiverse/clone a character to another server, they end up having slightly different origin story, will have different power set(s), and, many times, won't even be the same archetype.
  11. I don't play past level 49 either (I have 3 50's and I don't plan on leveling any more to 50), but I slot sets. I frankenslot procs or for specific bonuses. I usually have at least a couple set enhancements slotted by level 20. I don't think that frankenslotting would be worthless to you. There are procs for all kinds of things. I do think that the archetype sets have very useful archetype-related procs and, most of the time, good set bonuses for slotting as few as 2 in a power. Have me beat on that one ... understood. I'm more of a wolf myself.
  12. Wasn't Back Alley Brawler the "Ms Liberty" of Galaxy City? I would rather see Back Alley Brawler replace Blue Steel in Kings Row. It seems more thematically correct.
  13. Wow. I used to run a lot of characters through Galaxy City. I would hunt the lake in Atlas and then go to Galaxy City to hunt the lake there if I didn't start a character in Galaxy City. I seem to recall that the contacts there had different missions as well, but I wasn't really keeping track. I didn't even realize that there are like 3 different Origin contacts for each Origin at the various levels until I started digging through the wikis for information for my Origin Quest. I'm not even sure how you get which of the three as they seem to give the same missions ... maybe archetype related? I remember going to Galaxy City to meet up under one of the statues for the start of Tanker Tuesdays. I still dream about running around in Galaxy City near that statue from time to time.
  14. As long as you are crafting characters to play, I don't have a problem with alting (I hope that is obvious by my name and avatar). There is difference between crafting character to play and grabbing as many names as you can simply because they have been released. When you list so many at one time, it seems to be leading toward making characters simply to get the name versus making them to play. It isn't hard to get to the level you describe. 2 DFBs, 1 Posi 1, and 1 Posi 2 will get you in that ballpark. Claiming that they are that level just seemed to be a defensive excuse to me for "getting" bunch of names that you felt were cool. To be clear, I know that this thread is about showing off "names" that people feel are cool. I have no problem with that. I try to say way from this thread, but you posted so many in one post that I felt that I needed to say something. We are all free to play the way that we play.
  15. Of course, it doesn't appear to be so for you if you have been doing the same thing. 19 names listed all in one post seems to be excessive to me. Most likely many of those names probably weren't even released due to the name release. Are they playing the characters? Two DFB's, a Posi 1, and a Posi 2 gets you to around level 18. Seems to be more like an excuse to say that they are playing the characters, but we each play our own way. It remains to be seen if they continue playing those characters or not. I understand that this thread is about getting a cool "name". Nothing wrong with showing off a shiny new "name". My point is that it wasn't "a" name. It was a bunch of names ... at least I consider what you say to be 19 as more than one. From the outside of this behavior, it is clear. I understood the point of the name release was to free up names and not for a new round of name grabbing. It definitely seems to be name grabbing/hoarding. People are free to play how they like. We are also free to discuss things here in the forums. If you feel bad or a need to be defensive about my point, then perhaps you should consider my point before trying to grab a "bunch" of names simply because they may now be available.
  16. Are we in a race to hoard names now? I thought the whole point of the name release was to stop the name hoarding.
  17. No. Most certainly not by the Malta. Excuse me. I have more Marketing to do.
  18. Yeah. I still see players running from even Peregrine Island saying they have to go train and then they run off to Ms. Liberty in Atlas to train! Sad to say, but seriously. The two players that I game with the most and I go outside after completing a mission where one or more of us level and we summon a base portal to train. Most of the time with the one from the START vendor, but it really doesn't take that much time and patrol xp to get one from the day job for logging out near a sg portal. The fast travel power takes a long time to recharge. But that won't drop me off at the next mission?! No. It won't. Generally, since we are all in the sg base, the teammate that has the star selects a mission and one of us uses TT to get us all there at once.
  19. What lack of "share mission" feature? If you do leveling content you can get the same contacts and complete missions collaboratively. You can even start all characters as the same origin and run through the game with the contacts from that origin and collaboratively complete them. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/The_Players'_Guide_to_the_Cities/User_Interface/Options_Window#Team_Options Options>General>Team Options>Collaborative Missions There are arcs where the missions aren't given in the same order to all characters, so sometimes you will need to switch back and forth doing missions. The teams that I roll collaboratively with, we run all get the next mission from the contact and run the one that the most of us have. Then the ones that could complete the mission get the next mission, then we run the mission that one of the people had that didn't match up before (which tends to match up with what the other players just gained from their contacts). Seems like your group might only run level 50's. The main group I play with works around the same issues by playing alts like you are doing, but we don't confine ourselves to task forces or Oroboros - actually, we almost never run Ouroboros. I would say we run more AE story arcs than Oroboros. It seems like you are playing for merits. I don't so I can't really address the need to struggle for merits. screenshots. Just take a screenshot when you start the task force. Delete it when the task force is over. Keep them in a task force folder. I'm assuming you have less than 10 running at any individual time. Name them by the name of your character and the name of the arc. Then you can pull up the with your character name and see the names of the other characters in the screen shots. If you need to start cross referencing globals with character names, then that is going to get more complicated. This is definitely something that your group is going to have to manage versus the game handle it for you. As you have indicated: The issue seems to be exclusive to your SG that doesn't interact with the rest of the community in-game. In no way is that to say that you and your friends shouldn't enjoy playing the way that you enjoy playing. What I am saying is this burden that your sg heaped upon itself is your sg's burden to bear.
  20. No. They don't reset to zero if you log in to check your inventory. Some of the day jobs you get a number of uses. These usually max out at 30. Some of the day jobs give you a set amount of "use time" before they need to be recharged. If you don't use all of the "use time" then when you log out in an area to recharge it, it recharges on top of the remaining "use time". I think you referring to day jobs that give you a perk for a set amount of game time. This maxes out at 2 hours. But once again, if you don't use all of the "use time" then when you log out in an area to recharge it, it recharges on top of the remaining "use time". I have no idea about "task force involvement" affecting day job recharging as think I have only logged out while in a taskforce once since being back on Homecoming if it wasn't just to have people log out briefly so that the leader could regain the star (due to them dc'ing). But that should only affect recharging of day jobs .. if it even does that. If they are online, obviously you could see them in teams window. Otherwise, you're out of luck on that one. Sounds like something your task force leader should be responsible for. They could take a screenshot with their team menu open during the Taskforce and they would have the last of participating characters. I don't think this is something the DEVs should take time dealing with when it can be done by players. yeah, you obviously don't know how the Day Job system works.
  21. To my knowledge, no Paragon City police officers are ground up and added to the incendiary ammo used by heroes. I would assume the same goes for Vigilantes. I don't think rogues could get away for using ground up Paragon City police officers in their incendiary ammo for long without being forced by the game to take on full villian alignment. Villians? Apparently, they can do whatever they want as long as Lord Recluse doesn't send his minions to successfully shut them down.
  22. Okay. So do you know the email address you used for the account that you had on the old computer? Can you log into that account here on the forums? If so, go here: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/getting-started/ See the section: Registering an Account Step 1 - Forum Account You are currently logged into a valid forum account and may proceed to creating a Game account. You must create a Game account before you can log into the game! Step 2 - Game Account You have a valid Game account with the username [YourAccountName]. If you have forgotten your password, you may change it in the Game Account Center at any time. If my account name wasn't valid, it would give a prompt to create a game account. I'm assuming you went through this process to create your old account and your new one.
  23. The only mods to the UI are ones you set up yourself. You may want to look here: I run the game at 1920 x 1080. My chat text size is set on 14. UI scale at 92% That being said, I'm playing the game on my 36"+ LCD television. My post is here: When I need to - which is rare - I grab the lower right corner of the map window and draw it down until it is big enough that I can see what I want to see. I right-click on the map if I need to go to any certain point. And then I grab the right corner of the map and pull it backup to the original position.
