  1. You are obviously on the correct path! Do not turn away! Here's the trick. Content is new not only when you play it the first time but when variables change. If you think up a good character conception, make the character. Rotate ones you play! Feel like a blaster today? pull out a blaster. Feel like "Batman" bring out that sneaky scrapper or stalker! Breath that fresh air of creativity. But what really gets me - in addition to the creativity of creating characters and playing them from their point-of-view - is teaming. And I'm talking about PUGing more than playing with a fixed supergroup team. Sure I play with a few in a supergroup. We start out with a basic theme, create characters based around that theme, and level up together. Fun enough, things change as we level up, group dynamics and tactic change. But a PUG! Oh, a glorious PUG! People that you may or may not have gamed with before. A hodgepodge of powers. People that actually want to work together as a team, and renegades that aren't paying any attention to what the other players are doing. Are you going to help the cohesion of the team? Are you going to increase the chaos?! What one might think is the same-old-same-old content turns into something entirely different. But then I have over 176 characters at this point ... I better go update my spreadsheet ...
  2. What are you doing?! Obviously, it is time to make an alt or 5! What power set haven't you tried yet? What archetype haven't you tried yet!? Don't wither away on the end-game hamster-wheel of grinding! There is so much more to explore! What? "Guides"?! The world is your to explore! But, that being said, some like the grind. But, if you decide you want to play some non-end-game content, bring in a character that is more on level with the content instead of bringing in your shiny new 50 on speed runs when other people are trying to use the non-end-game content to level up and experience playing their characters on level. Okay?
  3. Never. I have so many alts, it is random which ones I get to play outside of the gaming times with a small group that I generally play fixed alts with. no. I don't think I have ever used a converter. More or less. I tend to have some of the standards stockpiled one place or three or ... who knows how many places? I don't. They are all over the place.
  4. Oh, yeah. I've seen other Kamen Rider-like characters running around along with some of the other henshin crowd. Don't forget to "変身!" before going into combat!
  5. Welcome home.
  6. You can turn the graphics off.
  7. Yeah. I agree. Nothing I typed disagrees with that. Note is was commenting on what @Scarlet Shocker said "But the issue is you're dragging the rest of the team around with you, whether they want it or not!" It doesn't do that. It doesn't drag the team around. I agree it lifts them of the ground, but it doesn't make them move with the person that has Group Fly. In no way does saying that it doesn't "drag people around" indicate that they aren't affected by it. I find Group Fly annoying myself .... but I have used it on rare occasions ... before the Sunset. Agreed on this. The result is not the same. You are not being moved. Is your character lifted off the ground? sure. Is it annoying? yes. Can it stop you from using powers in addition to being annoying? yes. most definitely. that being said ... So we are talking about characters heading toward or in the end-game for the most part. If it happens to you once by then and it ticks you off, you should have more than enough resources like the /help channel, the wiki, and these forum to find a solution to that problem - which is Null the Gull. If you are level 50 and don't know about those resources ... seriously, you should not have a level 50 Happens to you once, shame on the guy with group fly. Happens to you twice, shame on you. Sure, sometime I forget to go to Null the Gull, or the character was created before I started going to Null the Gull as one of the first things that I do with a character once they enter the game world. That's on me. I know about the Null the Gull, and I know that they can prevent the issue. So it would be on me 100% if I get Group Fly-ed or Team Teleported .... or even have to stop mid combat to click on Mystic Fortune on me mid-combat (who even does that? is that trolling?! Why mid combat?) ... or simply to turn if off so one of my pesky teammates can stop drawing the Tower card (https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/The_Tower) from the bottom of the deck every time they use it on me! (And, yeah, if you are stealthed, the damage that the Tower card causes takes you out of stealth!) Perhaps it is time to start asking before taskforce or leagues if anyone intends on using Group Fly so that everyone that doesn't want it affecting their characters has time to go to the Pocket D and see Null the Gull before the missions/event starts rolling.
  8. None of my masterminds have Group Fly. With the end cost so cheap and the fast recharge on the henchmen summoning powers, it is not big deal to despawn when traveling great distances and respawning at the destination location. Well, that isn't what goes on. Group fly doesn't "drag anyone". As long as you are within the field you can fly. If you fly out of the field, you fall. If you stay in one place and don't move and the person with group fly runs off, you fall out of the air. Group Fly speed usually isn't as fast as the person that has Group fly so they can potentially fly fast enough so that anyone using their group fly gets outside of their group fly field, will lose flight, and fall - and this included pets. In fact the power was changes because you had to move rather slowly if you wanted to keep henchmen within the group fly field. One of the first things I do when I make a new character is to go to Null the Gull to turn off group fly, team teleport, and speed buffs ... among other things. That being said, not everyone knows about Null the Gull. It does seems that it could be potentially changed to affect pets and henchmen only. Day Job for parking in the Shadow Shard - https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Dimensional_Explorer_Badge Traveler's Jet Pack Toggle: Self Fly Your hard work from your Day Job has given you access to a Jet Pack. The Traveler's Jetpack will allow you to fly for as long as there is enough fuel. Logging out in Grandville or The Shadow Shard will earn you additional usage time for your Traveler's Jet Pack. Before a character earns this badge: For every 2 hours logged out, a character gains 1 minute duration, up to a maximum of 2 hours duration. After a character earns this badge, but not the Traveler accolade: For every 1.4 hours logged out, a character gains 1 minute duration, up to a maximum of 2 hours duration. After a character earns this badge and the Traveler accolade: For every 0.7 hours logged out, a character gains 1 minute duration, up to a maximum of 2 hours duration. Group Fly has a higher endurance cost than flight. I don't think that masterminds should be able to fly around their pets for free.
  9. I can see where you are coming from, but I have seen more team trolling with Group Fly and Group Teleport. Group Teleport is even more rare than Group Fly. The group I play with on Monday and Tuesday nights primetime has had several characters that have fold space that use it responsibly. I actually have run into well less than 5% of Fold Space to troll teams. This makes very little sense. Why should one player on a team that isn't the team leader be able to stop another player from using a power at all? And a team leader can only stop a player from using a power on a team by kicking them from the team. Null the Gull doesn't stop other players from using Group Fly, Team Teleport, and speed buffs, it just stops them from affecting your character. Seems easy enough just to leave. If you are seeing Fold Space so much, I have to ask .... "are you only playing the end-game"?
  10. The leader put their foot down, and you are still complaining about it.
  11. I think I have only been on one team where a leader was tyrannical. They threatened to kick me because I was moving away from enemies because there was a danger of getting knocked out. Not that I was staying out combat for any longer than it took to regain enough health that I didn't feel that I would fall in combat and at no point was it endangering the team. I quit the team myself, and several of the players on the team sent me tells that the leader was out of line. I put the leader on /ignore so that I wouldn't join any of their teams again.
  12. You were on their team. If the team leader asks you to do something, you might want to consider that you are on their team and that you are not the only person on that team. The Leader has the "boot" for a reason. If you want to avoid getting booted, lead teams yourself. Then you can decide to boot or not. I know for myself, that I give multiple warnings before I boot any one from a team. I don't think I have booted even 5 players from a team over the years that I have been playing on Homecoming. Honestly, if your group fly wasn't causing issues to other players, I wouldn't care. If it was disruptive to me and/or any of the rest of the team, I would have asked you to turn it off and booted you if you didn't. Yes, your time is important, but so is the time of all the other players on the team. As I said, if you don't want to get booted, lead teams yourself or listen to the team leader.
  13. Yes. Electric is great if you play to its strengths.
  14. I think that "winning" in market PvP means different things to different people. You could give it away like Yomo and who knows who else in a less publicized manner. It is still all PvP unless DEV market-seeding gets thrown into the mix. Players sell. Players buy. And then there are the other things related to that ....
  15. The end-game is intentionally all about grinding. Why would any DEV want to take that away from end-gamer that only want to grind in the end-game instead of play the actual game (the leveling part)? I'm totally against this. Plus why would someone that wants to be Deity (incarnate) give away any of their god-like powers? At any rate, trading amongst your alts is the slippery slope of incarnate stuff going into the market for any one to purchase. Not that I'm necessarily against another way of taking influence from end-gamers.
  16. I'm always PvPing you at Wentworths ... and everyone else as well.
  17. Moscow Expels 6 British Diplomats Who Would Not Shut Up About ‘Doctor Who’ https://theonion.com/moscow-expels-6-british-diplomats-who-would-not-shut-up-about-doctor-who/ Published: September 13, 2024 MOSCOW—Explaining that Russia’s patience on the matter had finally reached a breaking point, officials in Moscow confirmed Friday they had expelled six British diplomats who would not shut up about Doctor Who. “London must realize that their diplomats’ incessant jabbering about Time Lord physiology and whether Daleks or Cybermen are stronger can only go on so long before it requires a response,” a Kremlin spokesperson said via state media, adding with visible annoyance that whenever Russian officials had tried to discuss serious diplomatic issues with the six self-described Whovians, they would invariably steer the conversation back around to whether the worst Doctor had been Paul McGann or Colin Baker. “Even when we tried dosing them with nerve agent to get a little peace and quiet, these dorks would just keep on speculating about whether one TARDIS could canonically materialize inside of another TARDIS. With their expulsion, our message to the West is unequivocal: We do not care who the Doctor is. We do not care who the Master is. We absolutely do not care about whatever the fuck that big skin creature is. And so long as the Kremlin stands, we will never watch your dumb little TV show for children.” At press time, Moscow suggested that they would potentially readmit the diplomats if they got into some real sci-fi like Battlestar Galactica.
  18. Yeah, looks like a lot changed from when I was paying Champions.
  19. Several games, Everquest 1 and 2 and DCUO offer you the option to pay to get to the highest level. Of course, CoH has the AE for that 😞 that it it was intended to be for that, but ... How do they catch up if it is ever increasing? By the time they catch up to where the end-gamers were another several levels have been added. DCUO covers this by opening up the newest level content to all characters that have reached level 10 (level 30 is the base game cap). All of the "open" content (newest level and events) all have a fixed CR (combat rating - which is essentially levels past 30 that are based on gear level) so that all of the characters with lower CR's are essentially leveled up to the newest level content/event base level (with all all the extra bonus that you could potentially add to a character with extra stuff that you need to farm/grind or level up with gear gained through farm/grind). This essentially funnels a large number of players into the newest content that everyone over level 10 has access to. Basically, 3 daily hunts, 2 or 3 open world content (zone mass defeats or - basically - a monster and then later - as the new content reaches a certain point - what is basically a Giant Monster is added), and a 3 queued team content - duo, alert, and raid. The duo (2 player), alerts (4 player), and raids (8 player) have "event" (only open on newest content open to all levels 10+), normal (you have to have at least the base CR to play the content), and - I can't remember what they call the other one - Elite? (which is a higher difficulty for those end-game basically) Agreed.
  20. Honestly, I knee jerked and gave you a "thanks" because it was a Champions character sheet, but then I started looking it over and I was just "confused". That's a lot of points! I never played in a Champions game any character with anywhere near that number of points! "villain bonus"? worth 975 points of disads for that alone?
  21. The End-game becomes a focus in MMORPGs to keep players that only want to play one character (or perhaps a few). They get to the end of the game, and there is nothing new for them to do. They get bored and drop their subscriptions/stop paying for micro-transactions and find some other game to play. The End-game is there to keep those people busy. As games get older, those people that just play the end-game start telling everyone else that they aren't having any fun if they aren't playing the End-game. If population is thinning out, the DEVs have to consider some things. The people playing the End-game need an incentive to play with new players or new players are likely not going to have anyone to team with (which I think is the whole point of an MMORPG) as the end-gamers want to be playing end-game stuff. End-gamers need players to game with in order to keep them interested in playing and having new players show up in end-game play mixes the dynamics up to change the play experience. A game might have divergent ways to level up characters. As the population decreases, they start trying to figure out ways to funnel the player-base so that they are trying to run the same content (increasing the chances for form teams). So, basically, what I'm saying is - that this DEV is going to create a game where players can't level quickly to catch up with friends, they are going to have to figure out some way that friends/groups can team together regardless of level or the profits are going to drop as the game ages and players leave. I can see this as good intent, but if the money is good - they will - as they say - "sell out" and start producing end-game content for the highest level players and add ways for new players to quickly level up (if they want to) in order play with the players that are already playing the end-game. Sometimes the option of getting to the end-game quickly becomes a money making project all its own by allowing players to pay real world money in order to automatically advance characters to current max level/content.
  22. I still think you are confused. I'm not 100% sure, but I think everyone that replied to you played before the Sunset. I started playing about a week before Issue 2 dropped.
  23. Not true. er, what? I don't see why it needs to be changed. Honestly, if you put 2 recharges enhancements in a scrapper mez protection power it will recharge faster than it wears off. I always put it one recharge enhancement in it and put it on auto-fire and then add a 2nd recharge enhancement in it as soon as I level up and get slots. But you have to give it time to go off, you can very likely loose mez protection if you are in combat when it wears off and you keep queueing up new powers and not letting the autofire go off. From an archetype design standpoint, you hit on why it is a toggle for tanks and a click for scrappers. The Tank needs an anti-mez constantly going like that because they are supposed to taunting/holding the agro for the rest of the team. It seems most of the time now that Tanks just want to "Hulk smash!" and don't really care about their teammates - especially as levels progress. Scrappers on the other hand really technically don't need anti-mez running all the time if they aren't trying to "Hulk smash!" everything. As a scrapper, you weren't expected to "tank" enemies but out damage them. You look into a room and see which enemies are in here. Can some of them mez? click the anti-mez power before going in. Maybe even Challenge (single target taunt) or pull minions around the corner and jump them until you have whittled down the group to a number that you feel you can take all at one time and hit the anti-mez before running in to attack them. The different archetypes and power sets are intentionally built to play differently so that players can try different things and experience the game differently which increases replayability. That is to say, all characters shouldn't be played the same if they have different archetypes/power sets/power picks. You base how you play with a character that character's own powers, strengths, and weaknesses. To sum up your question "Why do Tanks have toggle anti-mez, and Scrappers have click anti-mez?" with the simplest reply. They are different archetypes.
