In light of the success of Striga going co-op
UltraAlt replied to Ukase's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm just replying based upon the fact that the thread is named "In light of the success of Striga going co-op". -
Based on previous conversations about other issues, I'm making the assumption that you are well on the long side of the snipe range, that you are not targeting other snipers, and you don't think it is lag related. Also I guess it should be ask if you are running it solo or if someone else might be alerting the enemies of danger.

"No Transformation" option for HEATs
UltraAlt replied to Vic Raiden's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Are you okay with the two form change powers having "no form change" power customization options? Myself, I think that would only lead to trouble and support tickets, but as long as it is just a power customization option, I'm neither for or against it. -
On before the Sunset, I had an Angel of Death character based on a Champions RPG (pen & paper/tabletop) character. This Angel was a Dark/Dark Defender. The only Angel I have at this point is an Electric/Electric Defender. But it looks like you are going more for the damage side and are avoiding the ... Of course, a corruptor would dish out more damage than a defender, but then an Angel as a corruptor somehow really fit unless they are fallen one.

It is unclear if you simply intend to power-level to 50 and then "build" your character or if you are planning to play the leveling content. Other build factors would also include if you intend to play end-game content only or if you are going to exemplar down to run content. There are plenty of power sets where the power choices are different if you are getting them as you level or if you are just getting them all at once once power-leveled to level 50. As far as I can tell, this is especially true for Stone Armor.

In light of the success of Striga going co-op
UltraAlt replied to Ukase's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It's much a "team" when players are only looking out for #1 or when one more players don't really care about the rest of the team. The frequency of this behavior seems to increase based on the level of the character that other players are playing. 50's are the most likely not to care about what the rest of team is doing or where they are. And, if it is a task force, they are only running it for the merits. -
In light of the success of Striga going co-op
UltraAlt replied to Ukase's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If I've made a character and don't intend them to get any travel power from a travel pool, the Shadow Shard is one of the Day Job my characters get. Not because I don't have enough influence to get them some kind of flight from the START vendor that they can use in combat, but just because it's there to gain for free. But I fully understand that other people play differently. Seems like the DEVs tried to makes sure that characters had a way to get a flight power to augment if not replace the geyser system. Use Team Transport Power (I posted "Team Teleport" in error. It wasn't want I intended. They are both "TT". I corrected the other post.) to get everyone on the team to a mission. Use Mission Teleport to teleport yourself to a mission. Once you are at the destination, you are the the someone on the team that can use Assemble Team to get the rest of the team there. Two ways - per character - to get the entire team to a mission in the Shadow Shard quickly. If the fastest character can get there first and has Teleport Target, they can teleport the rest of the team to the mission as long as they have slotted enough range in Teleport Target. -
In light of the success of Striga going co-op

I don't believe that they need to make it co-op. Rogues can get there. If the "red side" DEV feels like they want to create villain content there. I'm sure they will. From my point of view, it will not be a useful addition to a majority of the player base. -

You know they put a day job with perks specifically so that characters didn't have to deal with the geyser at all. I remember having to respec a character to get flight just so I could do the Shadow Shard content. After that they added a day job. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Dimensional_Explorer_Badge The day job was added well before the Sunset. You can even use the day job power along with the geysers to avoid falling. Also, we have Team Transport Power, Mission Transporter, Assemble the Team, and https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Teleportation#Teleport_Target. If you are running with a team, it should be relatively quick to get around especially if you are willing to spend some inf and possibly share some inf with others so that they can get at least 3 of those powers (obviously, one would require a power pick). It seems to me that there are plenty of methods to get around there. -
In light of the success of Striga going co-op
UltraAlt replied to Ukase's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm wondering in what way it is a success as well. As far as I know, there are no "co-op" missions in Striga like there are in First Ward and Night Ward. Striga now has villian access, villain, missions, and a villain strike force. I just ran the Striga arcs on a hero team and we weren't sent to any of the villain contacts ... because they are "villian" contacts and not "co-op" contacts. Maybe heroes can join a team lead by villians and run their villain missions? I have no idea. I have never seen this go on myself. So, yeah, I'm back to.... There really is no reason to create or change zones into co-op zones since there is an alignment system for those that really want do the content content that being a true hero or true villain wouldn't allow. That's why the alignment system was added in the first place. I don't know about other people, but I don't play Praetorian content because it is a morally-gray dystopian environment. I may not know how other people feel about it, but there aren't many that make characters over there for a reason. Even less characters are made in Praetoria than villian characters. I say, don't ruin the HERO gaming experience simply to satisfy less than 25% of the player base. -
There is a good percentage of the community that only play level 50's. There is no leveling up. There is zoning into the game and getting power-leveled to 50 before anything else happens. There is only the end-built or multiple level 50 builds. I made a couple of 50's after repeated peer pressure from a friend. They hit 50 by leveling up. I have no intent of leveling up any other characters to level 50. I enjoy the leveling process and will be level-locking/turning off XP at level 49 or below on all my characters. I'm a character conception player, so I'm not "creating" any builds. I don't use mids. I level up my character based on character conception and do my best to only pick powers that fit within that character conception. I rarely /respec. I'm not trying to mini-max or cookie-cutter in anyway. Each character is unique. I like exploring the game mechanics. Limiting my choices to what people consider to be the "best" would narrow that exploration significantly.

I ask and then quit if the leeching is acceptable to the team leader. It may very well be one of their alts that isn't even on /follow for some reason.

Well, can't really speed run an SBB 15-50 in the lfg, but wiki says 15-29 Heck. There have been plenty of times when I was on a tf that turned out to be a speed run that we could barely get in the door before someone stealthed the mission to completion. The "kill alls" are there to stop the speed runs. All good, enjoy your coffee. Sounds good. Maybe I should go get some myself.

not everyone. Not everyone by a long shot.

Can you clarify this more?

Not all players, just the players that want to take advantage of other people or a game's systems. Every player playing City of Heroes isn't doing that. I know because I'm one of them, and I have teamed with plenty of other players that aren't trying to do that ... but, of course, I'm not just playing level 50's or trying to get to level 50 as quickly as possible. I'm not even planning on a leveling a character to level 50 ever again - I plan to level lock them (no xp) at level 49 or below. I myself have always been annoyed when someone joins a team and then stands at the door and says "oh, my breakfast/lunch/dinner is ready. I'll be back" They knew they didn't have time to game, and they were intentionally not saying anything until they entered the mission. Some players are just okay with the leaching going on. Some people find a sense of superiority by allowing leaching and/or actively intentionally power-leveling characters. This brings the sense to some players that it is fine to be AFK power-leveled or to join teams that they really can't help on. That being said, most of the time recruitment messages aren't clear. You almost always will end up on a speed task force if you don't ask in advance and, even then, it will often turn into a speed taskforce. Clearly defining what going to happen or expected from/for a team and/or minimum level accepted for team membership when sending an /LFG message goes a long way.

I can't argue with that dark/dark is an end hog.

I'm trying one because people have been commenting on it. I have a stalker with kinetic that I haven't really noticed and issue with but I haven't run that character that much. I made a kin/elec scrapper. I usually can fight mobs at +2/1 or2 but that has really been an issue. I've rolled it back to +1/1 for the next round. I'm still in the lower levels so I don't know if it improves a some point or not. As indicated, still trying to figure out how to tactically use the set without going out-of-character to use teleport target to narrow down the numbers. It seems to rely heavily on knockdown and disorient so I'm trying to buff those as I level. As per normal, I always put 2 accuracy enhances in any attack power. I'm hitting fine, but it doesn't appear that I'm disorienting or knocking down as much as I should seeing as the set relies upon it.

There are set enhancements (https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Blessing_of_the_Zephyr:_Knockback_Reduction_(4_points), https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Karma:_Knockback_Protection, https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Steadfast_Protection:_Knockback_Protection) and other set bonuses that help mitigate knockback as well.
