  1. I think it is debatable if the Halloween masks are currency as they are used to purchase a costume slot. I was against the merger of these currencies. I understand why it was done from a DEV point-of-view, but it never made sense to me that the reward for doing good things was equivalent to the reward for doing bad things. I'm sure some of you remember what it was like. There was plenty of influence. Goods flowed pretty freely in Wentworths ... because most of the players were playing heroes, gaining influence, and trading good with influence. People were working together for the good of Paragon City. Meanwhile, the prices were high on the Black Market. Items were scarce. Infamy was fairly limited as well. You could try to sell high because of the rarity, but few had the infamy needed to purchase high priced items. Basically, it's what you got for being a villain. Now that isn't to say that I didn't have villain character back then ... because I did ... I do now, but I still mostly play on the hero side in Paragon City. What? Praetoria? Information? Mean nothing to me. ... is where I'm at and with that I get most of my .... ...through card packs (though I do like hunting Giant Monsters!) And I don't really use Merits all that often because I have enough influence to meet the meager needs of my myriad pre-level 50 characters. I'm sure I'm not as rich as Yomo, but I get by. When it comes down to it there are those of use who give Influence to other players when they need it. Like Yomo GM Crumpet I don't advertise it, but I'm out there lurking somewhere and have been known to help people out from time to time as the situation arises. Now if you are trying to fill out 50's with all bells and whistles... well, then ... you are on your own. If you are a level 50 and you are a "have not" then you built your own cage .... or is that made your own bed ... something like that.... The only thing that forces me to engage in content that I would otherwise not engage in is "friends". I guess there is my Origins Project characters too. Some of that is getting and some origins arcs have been quite torturous. ...and sometimes I forget and join a team for a task force and confused it with another one and figured I had to deal with it to completion once I joined the team ... but that is very, very, very exceedingly rare. Oh, I guess you are talking about grinding. Yeah, I'm not going to grind for rewards if I can help it. The whole point of Prismatic Aethers is something for end-game L337 to grind for. Leave it there for grinding. The L337 need stuff to grind for. They like showing how much they like to grind. Grind on Grinder! Meanwhile, I'll be enjoying playing the game. Plenty of costume parts to choose from. Tons and tons of them that I haven't even used yet. As should be obvious, Influence is really the only currency that I'm concerned with - as with it, I can easily equip all my characters. The Market is the best PvP in City of Heroes.
  2. Keith Giffen (November 30, 1952 – October 9, 2023) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Giffen My exposure to Keith Giffen's work was on the Legion of Super-Heroes as I was a long time LSH fan. I was a fan of the LSH before he worked on the series and long after. As the wiki says: "Giffen is best known for his long runs illustrating and later writing the Legion of Super-Heroes title in the 1980s and 1990s. Giffen and writer Paul Levitz crafted "The Great Darkness Saga" in Legion of Super-Heroes vol. 2, #290–294 in 1982.[6] In August 1984, a third volume of the Legion of Super-Heroes series was launched by Levitz and Giffen.[7] Giffen plotted and pencilled the fourth volume of the Legion which began in November 1989.[8]" I can't say he was my favorite LSH artist. I remember he was famed for his page after page of 9 panels per page. I'm pretty sure that this is an example of that, but I haven't gone back through my collection to make sure this was him. I don't think any other LSH artist stuck to this pattern so much.
  3. I don't disagree with your statement, but ... My point is in line with the original post that a bald option for hats should be available. I think it should be an easy graphical fix. Just remove the hair part from the already existing hat model.
  4. No clipping issue with a hat with "no hair" option.
  5. Isn't what good writers do? Make stuff up instead of copying what other people have done? ... but I think you are more aiming at ...
  6. People have been saying that for two thousand years.
  7. Trolls be trolls?
  8. I've run into a couple of situations when I have run into this kind of thing. I try changing the order of the commands first. If that doesn't work, then I find the "offending" command and make a separate macro for it. I place the two next to each other and click then one after the other.

  10. none to me. I'm a character conception player. I don't play the end-game. I play the game. I'll play any set that I have a character conception for. Sometimes I'll just build a character to check out power sets before and build a character conception based on the power sets that I want to use. What I can say is that it shouldn't be the immediate conclusion that everyone is power-leveling to 50 and only playing level 50's. It seems a lot of people assume that. It is always good to mention if you are talking about only 50+ characters (end-game) or "leveling" characters through gameplay (the game). This might help you out some: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/List_of_Enemies_with_Vulnerabilities_to_Specific_Damage_Types
  11. Well, Alexander was said to be the Son of Amun Ra. Either by granted title or by actual birth in some stories. So I think the Demigod wins out.
  12. I'm assuming that /ignore information is held locally. The number of listings in the /ignore had been limited to stop the lag of its use when chat is posted. The star/rating system as it is now, only activates in two ways that I know of. When you actively check it, and when you have your settings set to show the stars over player character's heads. I'm also wondering how even simply showing starts over character's heads may affect lag in say Motel Hell/666 situations. I'm assuming if it is going to interface with chat the way that /ignore does, that the number of people you have have starred and ignored may need to be limited to the same number that ignore is currently set at now.
  13. I think on of the prime characteristics between a scrapper and a tank is the how strong the character is. Once you gain superhuman strength, I don't think you can be considered a scrapper any more. I know that Captain America pushes this a bit, but he isn't throwing cars around. Obviously, he's shield on some levels, but I think at the core, Captain America is super reflexes as he uses the shield as a weapon as well as for resistance. There is no good way to cover Cap's shield use in CoH. And, herein, lies the problem. In comic book superheroes - to a large extent - don't fall neatly into the CoH classification system. Part of the way that CoH tries to work around this issue with the archetypes is to allow powerpools. So, yeah, I consider Spiderman to be a super reflexes/super strength tank with the fighting, leaping, and speed power pools. Of course, Wonder Woman ... Blocking bullets with those gauntlets is definitely super reflexes. Ultra Boy is often uses super reflexes to avoid damage but he basically has the "swap ammo" of superpowers. .... but, of course, he has the ... ... (originally created by Brainiac 5 before retconning) so he can fly all the time regardless I think Superman would be built as Invulnerability/Super Strength with speed and leaping/flight (depending on which version of Superman. Originally, he couldn't fly). Before any retconning, I think Black Panther was around the strength level of Captain America. I think of him being a scrapper more than a tank. Is he stronger than Batman? Sure. But the only thing between Tank and Scrapper is Brute. I can kind of see Black Panther and Captain America falling into the Brute mold as they do tend to seem to get more powerful/into the the fight when they have more opponent to battle or are in a long fight. I guess I have to give in to the fact that part of being a tanker is being able to take/soak the damage. The vibranium in his costume/armor really give him that. So since he is relying on the suit for Invulnerability, I would have to say that means he has Invulnerability. His ability to leap around and avoid attacks would come from the leaping and fighting pools. I wouldn't consider any of the Batman family to be tanks. They are definitely scrappers with stealth if not stalkers some times Sure Bruce Wayne can pull the Tony Stark and pull out some Power Armor Batsuit, but is that what he does on a normal basis? Not that I remember at least. For all I know, with all the retconning going on, Batman can fly and sucks blood out of his victims ... I mean ... rrr... the criminals he is fighting. Power Pool - https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Concealment#Phase_Shift. I've been doing other things, but I think I've put enough time into thought on this post for now. I had a good time thinking about this one. I'm sure that there are more characters that I consider to be tanks with super reflexes that I'm not thinking of off the top of my head.
  14. Sure. I use Swap Ammo a couple different ways. First is character conception. I have a couple of characters that only use Toxic ammo. I have at least one character that doesn't even have Swap Ammo. All the other characters I have try to use the ammo type that does the most damage against the group of enemies that I'm fighting. And that is really the purpose of Swap Ammo - to be able to change the ammo type in order to do the most damage to the opponent.
