  1. I don't want the game changed in that way, but that doesn't mean you can't want the changes. My reasoning for both? They fundamentally changes game design. Extra slots would be an end-game slap-on that is already dealt with through the Incarnate system. Removing the power-pick build up structure in pools takes away from a tiering system that was intentionally put into the game by the DEVs. Want the more powerful power? You need to have these skills in order to get it. It is very much in character conception/development to have the pool powers function this way. The Power Pools are basically additional skill sets to "flesh out" a character. These are my viewpoints. I understand that you and others have different viewpoints.
  2. Explain. I see the whole point of the emoji response is to not have to post a full response and better than /jranger
  3. Sometimes it is hard to tell when someone is joking without context, facial expressions, or some other method to communicate it is a joke. There was a huge transfer of knowledge along the Silk Road. There was a good deal of martial arts information that originated or passed through China that ended up in Japan.
  4. Yeah, but I liked it more when it was just them running around and small groups doorknocking all over the place. Since I'm anti-farming I have bad-taste-in-my-mouth about Motel 666 especially when it turns not a bunch of characters that are obviously AFK as part of a league. And, sure, I have been league teleported to the Great Pumpkin and Fatty. Just doesn't have the same feeling as tracking them down on the streets and fighting them. I have enough spooky origin characters so that I can switch around once I get all the badges or max of 5 level increase. I have friends that really like the Motel 666, but it really isn't so much fun more than getting to play my spooky characters trying to help force back the minions of Hell.... it would all stop if people stopped knocking on their doors and waking them up! But the League thing happens on most invasion at this point, so it is what it is.
  5. Well, then you aren't dealing with facts. Ninja are Japanese. So are Yakuza. Assassins are not Japanese. The Triad are not Japanese; the Mafia is not Japanese. You're "theory" is the same as those that would call the Yakuza the Japanese Mafia or the Triad as being the Chinese Mafia. They are mixing terms that are not equivalent. Ninja were not just hired killers either. The Ninja were also an espionage network. They had other skills and traits along with their own specialized tools and weapons that make them distinct from other groups. The ninja were at their height during the feudal period of Japan. There is no good way to judge how formidable they were against hired killers and espionage groups in other countries. To use the word "technically" is an exaggeration if not an intentional falsehood to throw shade on the ninja. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninja
  6. I have to do it every time. I have my browser set so it clears cookies every time I shutdown. It also seems like my internet provider is switching up my IP address quite a bit, but I think it is the cookies.
  7. If you don't happen to have a base portal or base teleport available, logging out of the character and logging back exits you from the mission as well.
  8. Yeah, it looks great, but the text on some of the stuff that was far too small even when I increased the UI size and text size. The game just isn't up to playing at 4K at this time.
  9. I'm always going to say "whatever fits best with your character conception" because I'm a character conception player. I think that it is alway more fun to play a character that you have created versus one that has been built intentionally through mini-maxing. That being said, I am not worried about being uber/L33T or playing end-game. How to word it. I am here to play the game and not beat the game. Maybe that makes sense. Maybe that is too few words to explain it clearly.
  10. CoT I really like the ghosts in this group. It was a long time before I had enough time in battle to really get a good look at them get to enjoy the graphics. The rest are pretty standard. I'm not a fan of the: Legacy I haven't run up against these often, so I really can't give any input on this group. Mu I had to dig a bit for the correct wiki page for this group ( https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Arachnos/Mu_Mystics ) as the page is listed as Arachnos/Mu Mystics. I fight this group from time to time, but nowhere near as often as the CoT. They seem more of a subgroup of the Arachnos when I run into them - that is to say, I see them mixed in with "normal" Arachnos .... mainly the spiderborgs to my recollection. Their costumes are pretty bland. I guess my call on them is "they are just there". Spectral Pirates! I would love to see more of this mystic group in Hero side missions. A task force with them would be interesting. It looks like it would need to be a level 10-15 taskforce. Rularuu Do the Rurlaruu count as mystics? I don't run into them too much as I don't play the end-game often. I really enjoyed when they invaded at the beginning of Issue 2! I'll never forget that. It was awesome. (Why hasn't this come back?) I mean the Shadow Shard has to be the most "Doctor Strange" of all the zones. Are they just extradimensional or are they mystical? Is Mystical the same as extradimensional? (Then is the Winter Horde mystical? I'm leading toward yes so...) The Winter Horde I wish there was more variance of appearance in this group. I don't see why this group can't be expanded. I'm fine with them just showing up for the Winter Event. I look forward to it every year. Halloween Event enemies Zombie Apocalypse Trick or treating enemies Ancient Vampires Spectral Werewolves Arisen Mummies Crone Matriarchs Hollow Reapers Oh, yeah. Lot of good stuff here. Fun character designs and probably interesting powers both of which are often completely lost in the chaos of Motel 666. Banished Pantheon I really like the look of the characters in this group. The Totems especially. I think they are fun to do battle with. Fir Bolg I really like these especially since some of them don't become active and aren't targetable when they are in their fully planted form. This is a neat Idea. The Halloween Event has become mostly Motel 666 farming, but when the Giant Pumpkin Head GMs used to be the Halloween event, they were a lot of fun fighting. Red Caps Who doesn't like fighting guys with red caps! Those little guy that get thrown onto you and cling onto your neck and head are ingenious! Hats off to the DEVs on that one! Tuatha de Dannan Okay. Nothing Special.
  11. Then I'm at a complete loss as to why you wouldn't be unlocking a Zone with one exploration badge after unlocking the Long Range Teleporter.
  12. If you have the Long Range Travel power unlocked, open up your powers window. Drag that Green one that says "Fast Travel" down into your power tray and use that one.
  13. What is this? I do not know the meaning of this? I can't find a reference that makes sense when I do an internet search in it. Yeah, you really have me lost at this point. Orwellian hojawhatza or Neo-Speak?
  14. Are you using the yellow icon or the green one? I never use the yellow/gold one. The Green one always shows me the zone as being unlocked after one exploration is found in a zone (and you can get TIPS for the explore badges now if you fight (enough) enemies on the street in a zone <- but I'm sure you knew this part.)
  15. Nope. Just one one zone accolade for the unlock of the transporter (or buy it at the P2W) and one exploration badge per zone as @srmalloy said. I always unlock it in Atlas. My original path was from the old base portal in Atlas which was moved. At this point, after getting my character setup once they have zoned in and I've going to get all my P2W stuff (which includes one of the non-combat flight powers), I then start in the south inside of the vanguard building (in the south on the map below. enter, go up the stairs to the left and go a little more left at the top), fly to top of the globe, fly into City Hall (get the one on the left just before the Supergroup Registry desk and then downstairs down the hall, last door the right, all the way back, to in front of the Warbug? entrance), back out of City Hall, to the top of city hall (near the flag), down in front of the Hero Corps guy standing near the base portal, then (altering from the red line) up to the badge marked 1 (in the far north; lower roof facing east near the antennae ) and then to badge marked as 2 in the east (look for the Water tower on the building, lower rooftop far southwest corner along the edge of the roof). It usually goes pretty fast. I go this route now as the next place I go is to the Pocket D - on the East side of City Hall there is a truck with Pocket D fliers on it (and on the ground I think). If you don't have a supergroup base, just yell out in /help and some will give you access to a base that you can use at any base portal. Most bases have access to all the zones in the game that you would normally have access to. The only other ones that I bother unlocking are: Pocket D - on the hero side, go into the room where the monkey fights are held. Go up the steps. Go directly back to the couch at the far wall. It's on the floor Steel - I take the tram to the north. Exit out of the tram and go out the back way away from the entrance. Travel pretty much directly back. See a statue a little to the right. The badge is between the statue's feet. Talos - from the tram, go across the street and up the hill. It's on the top more to the far left hand side of the top if you are heading from the tram. Peregrine Island - from the base portal, head into the middle Portal Corps building. The badge is in the metal/mutant/alien/magic energy detector (don't set off any alarms! just kidding, sort of ....) Pretty much, I use the SG base portal to get everywhere I need to go. The ones above are the only zones that I might have a need to get to quickly. Pocket D - to get to the P2W vendor Steel - drops you right off where Posi 1 and Posi 2 start. Talos - It's the nexus. It drops you directly in front of the Tram. Peregrine - because the Tram doesn't link to it.
  16. I find this funny. If you looked up "Gypsy" on the internet just a couple of years ago, it said the exact opposite. I think I even found videos on youtube where Roma in America prefered the use of the term "Gypsy". It seems that it is becoming increasingly objectionable in America recently. I just did a search to check what it is saying now if I search for "is gypsy a bad word in america". Top of my search is: "Europeans used the word “gypsy” as a racial slur throughout these centuries to justify the discrimination and persecution of the Roma people." "It is estimated that there are one million Romani people in the United States. They known as American Gypsies." - https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romani_Americans#:~:text=It is estimated that there,They known as American Gypsies. I agree that there seems to be some rampant word "connotation" changes recently. Lately, some seem to be good at (actively) attempting to take control of words and altering their meanings. Thanks.
  17. I agree with this as well. I don't even know when I last heard any term for alternate sexual preferences used in a derogatory manner in real life/out on the streets/shopping, but I'm pretty much a hermit at this point. This being said, sometimes it is greater to side with caution. This gaming community is much more accepting of practically anything when compared to many gaming communities (and real life communities when it comes down to reality).
  18. I can't speak to how "most" other people control their toons other than to say "mouse and keyboard". Though I do use a mouse and keyboard, I mainly control my characters with ...
  19. I'm probably a good bit older than you, but "queer" was used as an insult to people and some used it as profanity in the past. Using the word to embrace one's sexuallity wasn't "a thing". Times change, but simply because someone has decided to embrace a word that was used against people in a derogatory manner does not mean that it still isn't being used by others in a derogatory manner. If you want to turn the profanity filter off, then feel free to do so. I want you to be free and I hope you enjoy your life, but this borders on being political.
  20. That's the whole point of those rewards. They are meant to funnel players into that content in order to get the related rewards.
  21. They shouldn't be seeded. If they are "rewards", you should have to "earn" them.
