Lost merits and Inf in the mail after a layoff
GM Crumpet replied to JulioThom33's topic in Help & Support
I see a lot sent to Heracleo that were sent in February and claimed and deleted, then a lot to CyFighter that were sent in November that were claimed and deleted. I see nothing with blank attachments -
What is the Stance on Public Domain Characters?
GM Crumpet replied to Arnabas's topic in Help & Support
Stuff that's definitely Public Domain is allowed, stuff that's partially Public Domain aren't. So some countries have 50 years from date of first publication, America has 95 years. Then there is the 70 years from the death of the author. Doc Savage will (possibly) be PD in 2029 or 2030, but there is still some doubt as the copyright was renewed in the 60's, and Tarzan is PD as the first few books entered PD in January 2024. My advice? Avoid this minefield and create something that's similar but different. Doc Delilah is an obvious Doc Savage tribute for instance. There is nothing from stopping you making a pulp era character based on Tarzan or Doc Savage or any number of popular characters from the 30's. TV does it all the time. Just keep the level of similarity far enough away that you fall under the tribute/parody rule. As for Trademark, that's a whole different kettle of fish. We generally don't allow other peoples trademarks as a rule. Wendy is fine. Wendy's isn't. Old MacDonald is allowed, MacDonalds isn't. While a controller dressed in spandex would never be mistaken for a restaurant chain we still don't allow it. Hope that clears up any confusion. -
people still hang around to farm Adamastor? Do they know you only get rewards for him every 18 hours?

I had the same. I had the name on Defiant and someone else had it on a different server and they were demanding I give it to them. They apparently had it on every shard except Reunion and wanted the set. It was a big fat no from me. Later as a GM we would get the occasional ticket demanding we took a name off someone and it was always a flat out nope. You can ask someone nicely if they will give it to you, or even offer them lots of inf, but they have every right to keep the name and no is a complete sentence 🙂

Some people have dozens, if not hundreds of alts under level 10 they haven't logged in for months or years. There has been plenty of warning that we are going to implement the policy, and plenty of time to start logging the alts in if you don't want the chance of someone sniping the name. Chances are most names are safe anyway. Unless it's something incredibly obvious you were lucky enough to get in the first month or two of the game starting up then the chances of someone taking the name is low, but not zero.

You need to do several missions before they allow you to call them

Would it make it any easier if I told you "I don't know?"

Pizza works too, as long as you don't put pineapple on it

You need to go to the game account management page and change your password https://forums.homecomingservers.com/account/ Type the new password in the first box, type it in the second box to confirm, voila!!

The Council change was not good
GM Crumpet replied to jthequietone's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I mostly avoid council as I hate their maps so haven't actually met any on the new difficulty -
I do it a lot when someone is a jerk to my dogs. "Did the nasty man say bad things to you? That's because he's a fuckwit and will die alone"........ "I'm talking to my dog, do you mind?"

Also a GM not a lead or admin!! We aren't monsters. We aren't going to kick someone sitting quietly in a corner doing no harm and not getting in the way, even if for some reason they are AFK for hours. I've done it myself for damage received badges, standing AFK in a fire and going shopping. When I come back a few hours later, Voila!! The badge!! You may have a good reason to be AFK. You might have forgotten to log off and gone to answer the phone then gone out and not come back until the next day. As long as you aren't causing lag in the murder hotel or are in the way of a portal, we'll probably just leave a tell as a welfare check and hope you reply at some point. (Please reply, we worry).

I've passed your thanks on to Manga. I'm so glad you are sorted, and it's something I've not come across before so I'll keep it in mind moving forward

Squid Rotations: A Kheldian DPS Rotation Analysis
GM Crumpet replied to Koopak's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
As Koopak says, this issue was investigated by Cipher who determined that using diagnostic tools on the test server is perfectly acceptable. Perhaps there was some unintentional confusion around the methodology, but that's what the test server is for. As long as the process using outside tools is kept to the test server then it's fine. Using macro's is allowed on all shards and servers, and there is no sign of outside app automation to try to cheat the system. I get it, it's an emotive issue. Botting and cheating to get big numbers is always going to make people upset, but from what I can see real life human interaction seems to give the same or better results. Laucianna and Americas Angel (to name just a couple of the well known players) do incredibly well and leave the rest of us (or at least me) face down in the dirt. Much as I enjoy playing Kheldians I'll never achieve the skill necessary to get close to their power. I have great builds, I've spent a lot of inf making my Khelds as good as I can get them, but the human factor kicks in and I have to bow to the experts. -
It's a manual thing so we pinged the people responsible. When I say days or weeks it's often immediate, but it's a high level admin thing so if a combination of circumstances happens then it can take a while.

Spoke to Manga and for Mac they suggest moving to LaunchCat and only using Island Rum if LaunchCat doesn't work for you https://launchcat.powermadsoftware.com/

Tequila isn't supported so the manifest can be days or weeks before it's deployed. Swap to the launcher for instant access.
