  1. Right click on the desktop, click show more options and open the Nvidia control panel. Make sure you are set for this under the open GL setting which should override the auto setting
  2. Vigilante can't do it, you need to swap to rogue or villain
  3. necro thread, so locking it
  4. Yep, definitely sounds like patrol XP
  5. just wondering if there is any value to not locking a necro post so old it makes Snarky look young
  6. Have you double checked it's white listed in your firewall and antivirus? I had a problem where mine deleted the exe file thinking it was naughty. Was fine once I slapped it with a spiked mace and told it to allow it through
  7. was it a different account? I can't find any trace in our history and the only one on your account is Nurse Rona. Which you correctly assumed was because of coronavirus. There were a plethora of alts with a variation of that and it was deemed insensitive with the number of people suffering from it. I myself spent 3 weeks in hospital being pumped full of drugs on an oxygen machine until my body finally cleared it. For some of us it wasn't a happy time.
  8. I agree. We have many characters in lore that have complicated backgrounds. Blue Steel, Scirocco, Ghost Widow, Manticore. Some did bad things and became hero's to make up for their mistakes, others are freedom fighters who have done awful things they felt justified in doing even though they regret them. As for real life individuals, the game isn't really deep enough to do much nuance. It's very much Bam! Pow! Kablooie! in the best possible way. I think people are overthinking it. Have fun, write your stories, use your history to add flavour and depth, but ultimately you'll get the people who enjoy reading the text and dialogue, and you'll get people who'll just want to wander about thumping people. Be respectful to the truth of the individual, but don't feel too tied to the history. There are many untold stories of the worlds villains and hero's. Napoleon wasn't short, he was average height. Hitler liked cats. Catherine the great died after having a stroke while on the toilet, not crushed to death in the embrace of her horse. Countess Bathory never actually bathed in the blood of virgins (though she was a vile woman who committed the most atrocious crimes). Stories are told and not all of them are true. They might be in your AE arc though 🙂
  9. Open your game folder and find the folder with your user name. Open it and find a text file named playerslot. Delete that file. Your character will be back.
  10. that's very odd. How long ago was that?
  11. I think you made every point I was going to make but a lot more eloquently than me 🙂 As unpaid volunteers we have a lot of quality people involved who can dip in and out when we need to rather than have to be available at set times. We do it for love, not money 🙂
  12. As I say, AE historicals have more leeway. "Doctor Time has kidnapped the most evil historical figures in history!! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to defeat the evil army and use a modified version of the medical teleporter to send them back to their correct place in the time stream. This message will self destruct in 5 seconds" I'd play it 😛
  13. Hear that folks? There is no age limit on fun!!
  14. As for player created AE, as long as they are NPC's and it's part of a time travel plot we tend to allow more leeway. Stopping Nemesis going back in time to assassinate Elvis before he became famous and having to rescue him and lead him out to safety? I don't have a problem with that. Going back in time to stop the 5th column giving Hitler modern weapons and meeting Hitler? Give him a slap for me. Time travel exists in CoH lore, and as long as the scenario is appropriate I think it could be fun. edit I'd have a problem with a more modern idea though. Going back in time to assassinate a current political leader (mentioning no names) would be problematic. Keep it old, keep it historical. Don't make it too modern.
  15. The general rule is nobody who died when someone now is still alive. So we go roughly 70 years from death or post World War 2. If anyone over 70 is playing, welcome and I'm glad to see you. I know I'll still be playing at 70 😛 There is also the infamy rule. Nobody who is an awful individual is generally allowed. So Hitler, Mussolini, Vlad the Impaler, Caligula etc. People who's crimes were so horrific their infamy will never die. One more we don't generally allow is religious figures from current religions. So no Mohammed, no Allah, No Yahweh, no Jesus, no Buddha, etc. The only exception for Jesus is if it's an actual name as pronounced Haysoos by Spanish speaking people. I know a Jesus and didn't know that was the spelling for years 🙂 Also, though tangential and not what the OP asked, don't pin your religious or political flags to your mast. Those just cause issues. We don't care who you vote for or worship, or what your affiliations are, we prefer you to keep those private and out of the game. I'm sure I've probably missed something, but those are the criteria I look at when I generic someone. Nobody currently alive, nobody who died less than 70 odd years ago, no iconic religious figures, nobody who's crimes have gone down in history for their foulness and scale.
  16. Oh I know. She was dead for a long time, appearing as a force ghost astral projection. Then there were shenanigans and she was resurrected as a hot 30 year old. And obviously moisturising is vital.
  17. On a rewatch the first three episodes are recontextualised and you see things in plain sight you missed without the context from later episodes. It's surprisingly effective.
  18. I'm usually the same, but I couldn't get into the first couple of episodes of Wandavision until I saw a spoiler free review about episode 4 that piqued my interest. I'm glad I went back as it turned out to be excellent. If you can make it to episode 4 you are hooked. It's a very clever show and Kathryn is wonderful. I am not too sure about the depiction of agatha, I am old enough to remember when she was introduced as a nanny for Franklin Richards then later for Wanda and Visions children. Plus her tutoring Wanda in magic. She was neither a good guy nor a bad guy, she was one of those intriguing supporting characters that seemed to do their own thing. Later or not they made her a bit of a villain and for me spoiled a great character. My first introduction to Agatha who I fell in love with Later iteration I lost interest in
  19. This seems to have run it's course so locking
  20. Welcome home hero, or Damn you, you evil villain!! We thought we'd seen the last of you!! 😛 Either way, welcome and have fun 🙂

  22. Was me. I saw my messages and there were sooooo many reports. Then I saw all the ones that weren't reported. It took me ages to clear it all up. If it wasn't for the reporters I wouldn't have seen them as quickly.
  23. What do you play? Have I seen you in a Hami or MSR?
  24. Just a thank you to everyone who reports the spam postings we get. Without a heads up from players we might not notice them for a lot longer. If you see anything that could be spam please don't hesitate to report it. While we do have active moderation, we aren't about all the time and a report from someone can really help nip it in the bud before it becomes a problem. Best wishes to all (except the spammers), Crumpet
  25. There is so much to do as you level and a lot of fun stuff designed for the level range it's meant for. I love Freaklympics and the Vahzilok Plague. I love the Laura Lockheart stuff. The Hollows arcs and Faultline arcs are both fun and explain some of the early lore. Everything can be done via Ouroboros if you missed it, but you are limited to the maximum level of the particular story and you lose powers that are above the level range. If you don't have IO's or attuned enhancement sets you also lose the benefit from them. As far as I'm aware (and someone will take great delight in telling me if I'm wrong) the IO's and SO's scale to the level of the mission too. Where we differ to other games is that there isn't one storyline that goes all the way through the game, and there isn't a vast amount to do once you hit the level cap. There is level 50 content, and getting your incarnate abilities to maximum is always fun, but sooner rather than later all you have left is some trials and raids.
