  1. Knock back is always a topic that will forever cause disagreement. Some people hate it, others love it. Personally I think the compromise is AoE powers should always knockdown in groups. Single target knockback is rarely a problem, and when solo can be very beneficial over knockdown defensively.
  2. Back on live my Grav controller slotted Lift with knock back enhancements with amusing effects. Especially on lowbie Hellions in Atlas 🤣 It’s fun trying to lift mobs higher than tall buildings..!
  3. Combat jumping is incredible low end cost and can easily be run while playing normally. Hover costs more end to run and slows your character down unless slotted. Worth considering!
  4. Voted! HC in the clear lead. Although it is not only the website’s pick, and also the top option in a list that isn’t sorted in a neutral way…
  5. Let’s not bully Diantane. There maybe reasons we don’t know of for why they post like this. Prove them wrong for sure but don’t get too personal, I’m not a huge fan of targeted memes etc. We are better then that!
  6. My old controller was also called “Kinetic Kat” oh my…. I am so far away from those types of characters now it’s actually painful to remember 🤣🤣
  7. Yeah I figured as much. I will have to have a think, my old controller was Grav/Kin so I’d like to make something a bit different. Maybe with traps or nature. Your point about propel on a dominator sounds about right. Be more fun on a controller, plus you have containment damage!
  8. And wormhole looks fun now you can change it into a knockdown. I’ll have to take a look at what concepts I can come up with 😊
  9. Oh this thread makes me want to revive my Gravity controller from Live 😅 But maybe a dominator? Hmm
  10. Im not sure I can add anything to this thread that hasn’t already been said. However I do find the logic of ‘don’t use IO’s to make a powerset combo good’ hilarious 🤣 Plus a vague underlining theme of ‘because I’d already written off those powersets for myself and I don’t want to be proven wrong’ 😅
  11. I concur, announcing the auras can slow the team down. Just go for the majority of people and fire them off. If someone is left off then that’s their own fault 😅 As for Fort/CM, I usually just say at the start who I’ll be focusing Fort on (like, blasters, etc.)
  12. I think the better discussion is what AT to pick. Personally I would avoid blasters and scrappers as the alternative play style will always be weaker. I would go for something like a Controller or MM, where you could actually play differently and still be pretty good at what your AT does best. I think going for the entire fighting pool might be fun. As a Thugs/ MM you could get quite a realistic fighter with pistol attacking coupled with fighting attacks. Plus a secondary that adds whatever flavour you want.
  13. Streamers are advertising the game and can bring in new players. So it is good for the community and Homecoming
  14. FYI - taken from the announcement on Discord today:
  15. Nice post @Lamb Chop, and happy birthday for the other day! The 20s can be tough as you find your way in life, but the 30s are glorious 😊
  16. Basic consideration, does the extra damage you get for the -res debuff equal the damage you’d get from it proccing damage instead? In most cases, a pure damage proc will save you the hassle of having to take advantage of the increased damage on follow up hits. Other things to consider: If you don’t have many aoes then you might not be able to capitalise on the -res and the pure damage would be better if you are a hard hitting AT the extra damage may outweigh the pure damage proc, providing you can take advantage. if you are in a team your -res proc won’t stack with anyone else’s. On balance I would advise most people to use pure damage rather than -res in the majority of situations.
  17. Unfortunately you’ll never know the answer for why your accuracy was lower in your sentinel. Bearing in mind that accuracy for all players is the same and not reduced by AT, so that line of inquiry is a bit of a folly. Most likely you were debuffed or enemies were buffed. You can actually check your accuracy % in the combat text. Whenever you use a power, and it tells you what your roll was. I came into this thread expecting an articulate debate as to why we should be able to reach 100% accuracy. I was disappointed 🤣
  18. You might want to have a look at the patch notes forum under announcements. That can give you an idea of the changes Homecoming have made and continue to make to the game. They have introduced new story arcs and a new strike force. However they are volunteers who work on this around their own day jobs, so you have to be realistic about what you can expect. 😊
  19. Thinking about it he’s probably more of a gadget control character. But controllers lack natural power themes. Pistols and/or swords in their epic pools would really add the finishing touch.
  20. The problem with the joker is what does he attack with? He isn’t the most combat orientated villain. I would say traps might be good for the type of character. Perhaps Illusion/Traps, with the phantom army as duplicates?
  21. Completely agree! The music in CoH really adds to the great atmosphere of the game! I would love it if music could play for the area you log into/teleport into. The Atlas Plaza theme I don’t hear much anymore (unless I go out of my way to get it to trigger!) because all the teleports always land inside the Plaza, so the music never plays!
  22. Yeah that makes sense. I respect that. I do the same with threads and emp merits to maximise the amount I’m getting out of them. I only have 3 50s and a lot of vet levels, so I have been fortunate enough to be able to give my new 50 excess emp merits to help them along. 🙂
  23. Just a question but why do you use shard? Threads are so much easier to get and can be used to craft Alpha slots too.
