  6. That's what I'm thinking. The kb is so easy to get, not sure that mag2 will work very often. How many opponents actually hit with a mag 2?

  8. Over my head, it's a white heal number every few seconds from Absorb. Does it all the time - maybe that's why they made a 0END/Self Only power a toggle. ;)

  10. That file path already existed on my computer, before I do any editing. The Ogg folder has sounds in it. Sounds like that shouldn't be so.
  11. Capped S/L will get you through the vast majority of opponents, it's surprising how many attacks have an s/l component. I'd rather cap that or ranged than have 32.5 in all positional. Melee Dam and AoE are not nearly as important to a Dom.
  12. I think the Epic pools are probably less useful to Sents than any other AT. They really just don't add much, unless you are enjoying the renaissance aspect. They don't add much to either damage or survivability.
  13. Sure, DP and Archery won't see much of a difference. For most of the others, it's 50% longer.
  14. \sounds\ogg folder is where you would put your replacement sounds, in their respective folders. Not sure if I'm missing something or if it's differences caused by Tequila. The above address seems to be where the game installs sounds, but the files and folders are different. The folder "Frontend", for instance, does not contain a "Recharge" file. Where should I be creating the new location for silenced sounds, given the above path? Also, thanks for taking the time to do all this. Great community.
  15. Think I realized why Sentinels feel so comparable, damage wise. 90 seconds recharge for the T9's is a big deal. That has a significant damage bump in groups.
  16. Assault and io bonuses give me over 30% dam buff. That's not insignificant, and a blaster going for the softcap can't do that. Plus probably some extra incarnate damage, esp if the blaster wants some mez protection from incarnate. I just don't see sents as 60% of blaster. If so, I'm going +6/x16 when I incarnate a blaster. ;)
  17. Testing back in the day showed dam procs to be better than dam io's. I wouldn't think ppm hurt pet powers much, if at all. Don't forget Javelin Volley.
  18. There are a ton of right ways to plays the game, and only a couple wrong ways. So if it works for you, roll with it. But I don't think the 60% damage jives with my experience. Something to consider is that I put almost every io and incarnate into offense on my Sentinel, whereas the Blasters have to devote considerably more resources to defense. This certainly closes the gap. But you have intrigued me, and it's on my to do list to incarnate an i25 blaster. I'll get back to you in a couple weeks. ;)

I don't know what the right numbers are, but I do know that I have a beam/rad sentinel and a beam/devices blaster, both around level 30ish, I have a 44 pistols/wp sent and a 35 pistols,atomic blaster. And the blasters can solo on higher difficulty than the Sentinels. That doesn't sound like trading safety for damage to me. I feel safer on the blaster, unless I get mezzed. But unless there are multiple mezzing mobs in the group it's a non-issue. It is worth noting that mez is a much bigger deal at the higher levels. There are groups a Blaster will die *much* more frequently to than a Sentinel, strictly due to mez. Blaster have (almost) always fallen behind the power curve at the highest levels.
  22. I've only taken one Sent to 50, 3 more to thirty. I think their class feature is weaker than others because they don't need it. They are an incredibly balanced, easy to play class. A little bit of end issues at the lower levels, but that isn't uncommon. I even experienced the "cheap" build while leveling my first. They aren't designed to take aggro. But they can dish out a ton of damage without micromanaging their own defenses, as long as they don't take alpha. It's kind of funny. As COH players we talk about how this game breaks the holy trinity. But then a class comes along and we try to shoehorn it into the existing roles.

  24. Is there a way to edit the sound file so that recharging powers don't "whomp-whomp" when you click on them? The "+forward$$powexec" bind works great, but that sound is annoying as heck.
