  1. Nope. I used it for a while back on live because it seemed like a good idea. Some months later, I realized I had not consulted a log even once so I turned if off and deleted the logs.
  2. Sure, but I don't regard it as a mistake. I've never seen the reaction you described. If I did, I would regard it as a jackass revealing their true nature and inviting themself to my ignore list. 🙂
  3. After I get my Alpha to tier 3, I craft tier 3's for both Lore and Destiny and wait for them to unlock. Once those are tier 3, then I got back and do Interface and Judgement to T3. Then Hybrid. Then I focus on getting T4 on Destiny, Alpha and Hybrid as I think those are the most useful. Also, my characters will generally have Barrier, Clarion AND Incandescence so I'm ready for anything. Eventually, everything will be tier 4.
  4. From a science definition, a mutant is someone with a new characteristic that their parents did not possess and which is genetic so it can be passed on to their children.
  5. The title system is a terrible temptation. I constantly think about making a character named Baby Seal and then displaying the day job title from Pocket D - 'Clubber'.
  6. I haven't seen any problem with /bindloadfile. Every time I create a new character, I load a bindfile that has 58 lines of commands and it's been working fine. Then, if I edit the file, one of the keybinds in the file reloads the same file that it's part of. That has worked fine also. I think where you might be having a problem is having multiple commands in a single line. In theory, that's not a problem. In practice, I always struggle to get these to work. I think the parser is extremely particular about the order in which different types of commands are listed. For example, I use a universal keybind to enter a supergroup base no matter which shard I'm playing on. I have multiples of the command enterbasefrompasscode set up in a single bind - six commands for six different bases - and it works just fine. The chat window shows five error messages and then loads the correct base. But when I try to do different commands in a single line, like activating a power and speaking text, it seems that I never can get it to work on the first try. It's possible that some patch cleaned up the parser and slightly altered its function so that it's either wonky now, or working the way it was always supposed to.
  7. This game is a lot less grindy than many other MMO's. I mean, it's not like we have to grind high level raids and then compete for the best drops. Everyone can get 'high end gear' and they can do it by running low level task forces exclusively - if they want. Also, you don't really need high end gear. You can slot common IO's at level 25 and be done forever and you can do any content in the game. You just won't be able to solo high level content or be the main tank on 'Master of' attempts.
  8. No one is saying you're crazy. We're certainly thinking it, though.
  9. Back on live, I had a Soldier of Arachnos who was Recluse's shiftless nephew. He had the spider backpack to look like his uncle and was named Lord Footloose.
  10. The title question comes from a lack of knowledge. Victory was an existing, separate CoH server which has now joined Homecoming. As for merging servers - no. Bad idea.
  11. D&D? The phrase 'vorpal sword' appears in the poem Jabberwocky, which Lewis Carroll wrote in 1871.
  12. Honestly, I'm surprised the number is that low. I did that task force 15 times in 2024. Also, twice in the past week.
  13. Well, if someone is going to have only one name, I guess the name has to be 'Veracor'. 😛 I do, however, have Ironblade on every shard. Just started a new one on Victory this morning.
  14. Nonsense. Unless you're talking about REALLY low level. The 'good' content starts at level 8 (i.e. Positron TF).
  15. (shrug) I have 36 levels 50's and you're damn right I'm keeping those names. I guess that makes me an evil hoarder / name camper.
  16. I think you could just go with two corruptors. My ice/cold has two holds. Pair that with a strong AoE with more strong buff/debuff like fire/nature and I think that pair would be pretty powerful. With those buffs and debuffs, I think they could easily deal with AV's. I've taken ice/cold, ice/nature, fire/kin, fire/thermal, beam/kin and a second beam/kin to level 50. The beam/kins are focused on team/league damage for incarnate content. Kinetics is great, but if you're only buffing one other character, I think it wouldn't be the best choice.
  17. A retired cop down the block from me had the entire cast of 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' in his yard. I told him that, when I was walking by, I noticed one and said, "OMG, that's Yukon Cornelius!" Then I noticed the rest of them. 🙂
  18. Back in the day when I was collecting badges in PvP zones, having Tactics and Focused Accuracy was a big surprise to about 95% of stalkers. I only recall one ever being able to sneak up on me.
  19. Well, on my main character it's important to me to be able to destroy Paragon Protectors running Moment of Glory. I'll typically have around 40% in each power. Then I have +57% global acc, the Kismet +to hit unique, Tactics and Focused Accuracy. When I hit Build Up, those chumps are toast. That's a bit much, but most of my characters have Tactics or Focused Accuracy. I prefer Tactics since it affects the entire team, but some builds don't have room for it and already have Energy Mastery or Body Mastery.
  20. Cool. For me, leveling is almost never the goal, but I always want to have *A* goal. It might be a badge. It might getting a particular incarnate salvage. I have characters built for helping on incarnate trials - they're already fully finished and tier 4, but they still have a goal. And, to be fair, sometimes I do have a goal of leveling - like if I want to be high enough for a certain task force that will be featured the next week. I find it fun to have a variety of goals.
  21. Right off, the first sentence confuses me. I almost never "level" characters; I "play" them. The leveling happens on its own. If you're playing with the specific goal of reaching certain levels, then you're doing it wrong - as demonstrated by the fact that you say you're experiencing burnout. The solution here is extremely simple and practically impossible - change your mindset so you're thinking differently about the game. As for not having the time or money for other games - 1) If you play CoH less, that frees up time. 2) Plenty of good games are 'free to play'. Also, some REALLY good games are super cheap. I've got like 1400 hours in Valheim and it's only $10.
  22. Don't get me started on that one. "Wait, the head of the City Council is named Robert ALDERMAN? ALDERMAN?!?"
  23. Right. I just wait until I'm done playing for the day and the team has disbanded, then I go train.
  24. Make them look like a shiny, sparkly vampire.
  25. How I read this: "Since I don't play a toon much past 50 (if I even get there at all), I CHOOSE not to use invention origin enhancements - since reaching 50 has NOTHING to do with using IO's." I buy all my characters IO's when they're approaching level 30 and start slotting them around level 35. Why would anyone think they have to wait until level 50? Everything EXCEPT purple sets can be used long before level 50. (shrug) Your choice. I'm over 60 and have been retired for 10 years. I use IO's.
