  1. Also worth noting - you only actually need to do the last mission. Now, if you're doing the contact yourself, you have to do all the missions to get to the last one. However, you will often see people advertise in 'Looking For Group' that they are about to start the final mission of one of the patron arcs. If you join for just the final mission, it unlocks the pools.
  2. Per the wiki: Automatically change world detail for performance. So, reduce resolution for better performance I guess. If you're on a decent computer, you have power to spare so I wouldn't expect it to have to compromise on graphics.
  3. It's not that you're missing anything or that anyone is wrong. A lot of people will build for defense and you can get really effective levels of defense on characters that start with none. *BUT* it's expensive. Building for +regen or +recovery is pretty easy and cheap. Building for defense is neither of these things. And, IN MY OPINION, building for defense when you start with none means giving up too much. Instead of defense, I could build a DPS character for massive recharge and the recovery to support it. If I'm building a resist tank, I'll focus on +regen and +HP rather than defense. This is just a question of personal preference.
  4. 1. Personally, I don't take any leadership pool on tanks because they get lesser effects than controllers, corruptors, defenders - UNLESS it's a defense based armor set OR I want to mule a Luck of the Gambler +recharge. Taking Assault or Maneuvers on your tank, in my opinion, would be a wasted power. Your armor doesn't give defense, so the tiny bit Maneuvers gives is pretty much useless or a tank or brute. A tank is not focused on damage so Assault adds on from a low starting point. I think it makes more sense on a brute. My main scrapper and my only brute both have Assault. In a team context, I would have no opinion one way or the other on such a minor build decision on someone else's character. 2. Take whatever epic pool you want unless you are having endurance issues. So, play the character and, once you get to level 35-40 or so, you'll know if you need to worry about endurance. When I get to around level 35, I start slotting IO's and decide how I'm going to address endurance issues (if the character has them). 3. A brute is a brute. Unless they are offering to tank, I don't give a second thought to their power sets. I view them as DPS. Go nuts. 4. You don't need "high-end sets" for fancy bonuses. The EASIEST (and cheapest) features to build for are +regen and +recovery because, in any set that offers them, they are usually (always?) the first bonus. I built a tank with over 300% regen CHEAP. You can just as easily focus on recovery. And I wouldn't expect you to have any troubles with endurance. Electric Armor gives you two powers to help with end usage and recovery - assuming we ignore Power Surge, which you said you're not taking. However, you might want to reconsider Power Sink - BUT I would wait until you're in the 40's and then decide if you need it or not. So, general comments: - Probably don't pick a tank for your first character. I think you'll be disappointed by the damage output. Brutes are fun. - A lot of IO sets are shockingly cheap. And, yes, some are very very expensive to a new player. - Electric Armor is a fine set. I took an electric/electric tank to 50. - Staff is fun and has some cool animations. I took an invulnerability/staff tank to 50. - Going back and looking at your post, ditch Weave. Same reasoning as Maneuvers - your armor set starts with zero defense so Weave and Maneuvers are a waste. And, last comment: By the time you get into the 30's, you'll know from personal experience where the build has problems, if any. You'll know what works and what doesn't for you and your play style. At that point, come back with more questions. You'll have a better understanding of what to discuss and people can offer more detailed advice. And I'm not saying don't come back for advice before then. Come back with any questions, any time, please.
  5. Right, because I'm the boss of the forums. Interesting that all of your posts got exactly one confused face emoji, while the people making opposing arguments are getting the likes. Just saying. But never mind, since you were going to leave it there and not keep at it, right? One condition. Do we get to throw things? Yelling is so much more fun when you're also throwing things.
  6. Oh, please! Your posts are loaded with speculation. You have no inside knowledge and are drawing conclusions based on your own experiences which may, or may not, be somewhat applicable.
  7. Bad PR. They got plenty of that after shutting down the game.
  8. As I pointed out, they SAID there is an external factor. I'll quote it again. "What we can say is that setting this up as a non-profit is complicated, if it's even going to be possible at all. There's no precedent for what we're doing here, so we (and the attorneys we're working with) are kinda going to be writing the book on it."
  9. For anyone interested, the link to extract costume files from a Sentinel xml file is: https://cit.cohtitan.com/senticon/
  10. Cool. I just edited my bindfile and tested it. Works fine. Thanks for the info.
  11. No, they were very clear about this. On August 8, 2019, Jimmy said: "The primary reason for setting up the LLC was actually tax protection. An LLC can spend money on server costs and write it off as an expense, essentially ending a financial period with zero income. An individual cannot do this, they would be taxed on the income before being able to spend it on server costs." And on September 3rd, he said: "What we can say is that setting this up as a non-profit is complicated, if it's even going to be possible at all. There's no precedent for what we're doing here, so we (and the attorneys we're working with) are kinda going to be writing the book on it. Essentially, this is less of a "wait and see, trust us" and more of a "when we're confident in a plan then we'll talk about it".
  12. Right. I was reading about the NY City court system where they have held less than 10 trials in a time span that they would normally have hundreds. I also know some lawyers and those that don't do criminal law or litigation are pretty much unaffected. Eh, not so much. As I recall, one of the factors mentioned was getting non-profit organization status. Now that means everything is proceeding at the speed of GOVERNMENT (specifically, the IRS). So we should expect this to take about five minutes less than eternity.
  13. Standing in Steel Canyon, on the other side of the big statue from Positron, talking on a cell phone, while standing next to a pay phone.
  14. Also useful for 'erasing' binds. With one keypress, I load about 20 binds onto my numeric keypad for running the Abandoned Sewer Trial. When I'm done, one keypress loads a new bindfile that assigns NOP to every one of those keys.
  15. Sounds fun. I have a rad/rad tank. You'll want the Fighting pool for Tough. Aside from that.... I dunno. Radiation armor is a really good set.
  16. Most people? No. But there will always be some. Personally, I always take Taunt, even on the tanks I build for soloing. It's unique to tanks and a defining power. And, since you were thinking about taking Acrobatics anyway...... Oh, hell no. I have Hasten on two characters - one is a stone tank and one so I could get perma Accelerate Metabolism. I plan to take it on a third character at level 49 since he is built specifically for maximum DPS in the Magisterium incarnate trial. Even back when the game was live, I only had Hasten on about 4 characters out of just over 40. um, not a clue since I don't use Mids. Having said that, I had a dark/dark tank before Incarnate powers existed and you can easily manage the endurance situation by partly focusing on +recovery IO set bonuses. Dunno, but the way I did my calculations, my dark/dark tank had +48% recovery bonus. That is not counting Stamina or the slotting in it, but it did count Physical Perfection and IO's. Enhancements and there are many options. On a tank, you'll probably want two of them for 8 pts of KNB protection. Any other AT can get away with 4 pts. Oops, back to Mids. Can't help ya there.
  17. He said he wants her WINTER EVENT costume - i.e. the Santa version she is wearing in the Winter zone.
  18. In all of your posts addressing this, you seem to forget the existence of the Ouroboros Portal, which has a cooldown of FIVE minutes. Due to the shorter cooldown, that's usually MY first choice when I need to go somewhere.
  19. Kind of. I went to test this today. They fixed the places that used to work, apparently by removing the doors on the buildings. However, I found another spot that worked but there's no point now. It used to be the only way to get into the 'matrix room' but you can just walk in from the arena now. Also, when I did the /stuck command from under the arena, it put me all the way upstairs in by the terminals instead of in the matrix room.
  20. It's in the big lake. There are a few doors around the edge of the lake. One is the hidden base while the others are mission doors (and normally inaccessible).
  21. Your forum name and password are different from your game name and password. At the top of the forums is a menu item called Account Center. You need to go there and create a game account.
  22. Pretty much everyone is useful. In fact, for Hamidon raids, you need ranged damage, melee damage, holds and tanks. So a variety is very helpful. I've taken almost every archetype to 50 and they're all good. The only one I haven't done yet is Sentinel since it's new and I've been busy recreating characters I had back on live. I don't know anywhere you can find all that information compiled but, to be honest, that's probably because it would not be that helpful. Most sets are a 'defense set' or a 'resist set' or a 'regen set'. There are some that cross over; Invulnerability is considered a 'blend set' (resistance and defense). And most armors will have different stats vs smashing / fire / energy / psi / etc damage so it would be very hard to compile the stats in a legible format. Decide what you're going to do with the brute and that will narrow down the options for you. Do you plan to farm? Do you mostly play solo or on large teams? Are you creating this character for end-game content? And I wouldn't use endurance recovery as a factor in a decision since it's super easy to deal with endurance issues (IO set bonuses, incarnate powers, ancillary power pools).
  23. Oh, I used to know some of these. I think Killing Crew became the Freakshow.
  24. That has not been my experience on Everlasting. Even though the 'Zone' base on Everlasting is nowhere near as fancy as the Cosmic Transport base (I play at least a little on all the North America shards), every time I have gone through the base in the past few days I have seen people there.
  25. I would strongly oppose this *UNLESS* the chat system would automatically block the message when it's just a wall of emojis. I play Black Desert Online and that's the new 'cool' thing to do - a line full of emojis repeated multiple times to produce a wall of them. No thanks.
