Fixed that for you. I see. You subscribe to the calendar I saw that show Nov 28-29 as 'Thanksgiving' with all the rest of November and December marked as 'Christmas'. 😛 Considering that this is the third version and each version has had less revisions, I would say . . . . shortly. (Hah! I didn't say soon.) And by 'shortly', I mean maybe just before Thanksgiving but probably early December before the Winter event starts.

Beats me. I have two accounts but I linked them to different email accounts because that's what I ALWAYS do in a game where I have multiple accounts.

The update currently on the beta server addresses the Gun Drone problem. Now it has more armor and a bit less aggro. Gun Drone Now has 80% resistance to all damage Taunt aura reduced to 8ft, mag 3, max of 4 targets Death explosion now has a knockup component

Solved. Even though my character is dual pistols, I had to go in to the costume editor and change the ASSAULT RIFLE. It was set to the default Legacy Assault Rifle which seems to be broken. Change it to something else and the LRM Rocket uses that Assault Rifle model.

"Toxic" Community?.. My thoughts, feel free to add your own!

Eh, it's only a three week necro. -
Hey. People took Long Range Teleport. 😛

Here is a screenshot of my character firing the LRM Rocket. When he draws it, his hands are empty. The blast appears about where a gun barrel would end, but no weapon is visible. He is dual pistols / devices.

Anyone mind looking over my Desktop build?
Ironblade replied to BassAckwards's topic in PC Builders's Forum
I'll offer some comments. I've built all my computers for the past 20 years or so, BUT I have never built around an AMD CPU, only Intel. I'm not familiar with the AMD CPU line-up but the specs on that one look good. Lots of power. I also bought an unlocked CPU because, if the cooling solution is good enough, the chip will overclock slightly on its own. I don't know if AMD chips do that too. Still $100 difference between the locked and unlocked versions is pretty stiff. Current pricing on my i5 10600K is only $15 above the locked version. My CPU runs at 4.1 vs your 3.8 but I only have 6 cores vs your 12. So your CPU is a good choice on that basis since more cores is important for most tasks while higher clock speed matters more for gaming. GPU - Well, I would go with a more powerful card. My general guideline for a 'gaming system' is that you want the CPU and GPU to be in the same price range. Now, you say you only plan to play City of Heroes on it, but you also say you want it to last 10 years. Some other game might come along that you want to play and the video card is a bit weak compared to the rest of the hardware. My CPU only cost about 2/3 of yours, but my video card is the Radeon RX 5600 XT. Motherboard - Looks fine. I like Asus boards. I have an Asus Prime Z-490P. Memory - Again, looks fine. I have 32GB DDR 3600 also, just a different brand (G.Skill) but Corsair is a big name in memory. SSD - Looks good. I play A LOT of different games, so I have a 500GB NVMe SSD on the motherboard for Windows and all non-game software and then a 2TB SATA SSD for my games. I would expect, however, that for photo/video editing that you would need a lot more space. Are you planning to add a big hard drive or do you have an NAS or other external storage? Additional Comments Cooling - Get a better HSF than you actually need. My CPU draws 105 watts (same as yours) but my HSF is rated for CPUs up to 150 watts. Thermal stress kills CPUs. Memory/motherboard compatibility - Take this seriously. I used the memory finder on the Asus web site *AND* double-checked it against the motherboard compatibility guide on the G.Skill site. Newegg - I've spent thousands there. Every build, I compare pricing on Newegg, Micro Center (I live near one) and Amazon. In my current system, everything except the HSF came from Newegg. My HSF is from 'be quiet!', who are a U.K. manufacturer and Newegg doesn't carry them. -
What's the European population like on Everlasting?
Ironblade replied to Soyuz's topic in Everlasting
The load markers after the login screen aren't very precise. Using the Server Status page I linked to will give you exact numbers and also tell you how many are on each side (red/blue). Right this minute, both Excelsior and Everlasting show 'medium load' but have very different numbers of players online at 535 and 341 respectively. -
Controversial Opinion of Population Decline
Ironblade replied to Solarverse's topic in General Discussion
I'll answer that, as a person who doesn't power level. I think it's good for the game and helps player retention because it's DIFFERENT. It adds one more way to play the game. People who want to get their character to 50 quickly can do so. -
BATS! We need to be able to turn into a cloud of bats for Flight for all the vampire characters.

There may be a solution to this: badge tours. Paragon City Search And Rescue and The Taxibots used to do badge tours (and possibly other groups I'm not familiar with). With this new accolade to unlock, I think that there will be a big demand for badge touring for a while. The way it works is tour guide A invites six people to a team and Recalls them one by one onto the badge marker. Tour guide A then invites tour guide B, makes them the leader, then drops from the team. If it's a single zone tour, Tour guide B Recalls people to the next badge. If it's a cross-zone tour, tour guide B Recalls them to the entrance to the next zone or a base portal, etc. Meanwhile, tour guide A has begun inviting the next group of 6 people to a team. This can get people the badges really fast. Both Paragon City Search And Rescue and the Taxibots required all members to have Recall Friend (among other requirements). I don't know if there are currently any SGs that do this - except on Everlasting, which is the only shard Paragon City Search And Rescue is currently active on. I'm a member and I am going to post about this on our Discord and link to this post.

What's the European population like on Everlasting?
Ironblade replied to Soyuz's topic in Everlasting
Are you specifically looking for European players or wondering what the Everlasting population looks like during EU 'prime time'? If the latter, you can check all server populations at the time you normally play at https://forums.homecomingservers.com/status/ -
It could be. This is why, after I have gotten all the other day job badges, ALL of my characters log out in Ouroboros.
-
My thought is *HELL NO*. Do not touch that flight pose. If YOU don't like that particular pose, don't use it. There are others that look like the pictures you posted. This one deliberately has the hero's body at a different angle. Variety is good. Of course, adding a new flight pose that fits your description would be great. But removing a cosmetic effect that doesn't break anything would be nothing less than stupid.

Controversial Opinion of Population Decline
Ironblade replied to Solarverse's topic in General Discussion
I didn't say I agreed with Solarverse's premise. I just said that even if it was true, it didn't really matter. Different people like different content. My girlfriend does iTrials constantly, leads iTrials and leads badge runs. I mostly do task forces and flashback content. -
Controversial Opinion of Population Decline
Ironblade replied to Solarverse's topic in General Discussion
But here's the thing. Even assuming you are 100% correct, so what? If the people you're describing didn't have the option of PL'ing their characters straight to 50, THEY WOULD NOT BE HERE AT ALL. If that's the way they want to play, getting rid of PL'ing isn't going to change them. They'll just do the PL'ing in some other game, burn out, and leave it. -
At first glance, I figured they would be changing the name to NCHard to tell us how tough they are. I used to watch a music show called 'Reggae Strong'. At the beginning of every show, the intro would explain that they were going to call the show 'Reggae Week' because it's about Reggae and it's on every week - "but Reggae not weak, mon, REGGAE STRONG!" I thought that was brilliant.
-
Good question. My guess would be that a one-click macro is not possible since the system currently opens a selection window. However, based on how the game is actually coded, this might range anywhere from 'easy enough to add' to 'not possible without a major code rewrite'. I would be interested to see a reply from the devs on this.

Focused Feedback: Teleportation Pool Revamp
Ironblade replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
But that's normal. Many powers are better for some people than others. What use does a Willpower tank have for Hasten? Contrast that with how useful Hasten is to a Dominator. Most people don't take Teleport because they feel it's difficult to use. But it seems that most Stone tanks do take it. -
To paraphrase what Jimmy said to another player in one of these threads, you've made YOUR opinion perfectly clear. Constantly harping on this doesn't help anyone. The original implementation on the beta server had shortcomings, there was feedback, and now we have an improved version. Based on the thread replies, most people are now satisfied. We ALL know that you aren't happy with it. I get that you're passionate about this game. So am I. But arguing and arguing is not productive.

It's not just beam rifle. I was attacking with melee (broadsword) attacks and I would constantly be pivoting from facing it straight on to aiming off to the side.

Do we actually need to point out that the team of VOLUNTEERS who are actually doing the work are the ones who set the priorities? Should I also mention that, since they receive no payment for their efforts, they are clearly doing this because of their love for the game and are doing what they think is best for the game?
