  1. Badge titles..... yeah.... <.< >.> I keep planning to make a character named Baby Seal and then park them in Pocket D to get the Clubber badge.
  2. Yes. It lasts two minutes even if you go through it, leave the zone, etc.
  3. Gaming is serious business. I typically set up my Excel workbook for a game while I'm downloading it. 😛
  4. And people really should be backing up these files. When Homecoming launched, I had copies of all my costume and keybind files from back in the day. I back these files up automatically every night to a different drive.
  5. Back on live, we didn't see a problem with the system even with 25-30 active players. The limiting factor back then was that we could only have 150 characters in the SG so I limited how many characters one person could have in the main SG and we had two alt SG's. I think that, for the most part, storing salvage in the base is a waste of space. When I'm crafting enhancements I just have the auction house window open and buy whatever salvage I need at the time. We currently have four salvage racks - one for common, one for uncommon, one for event salvage and one that is EMPTY and used for transfers between characters.
  6. Back in the day when farming took place in Peregrine, level one characters routinely made the trip to Portal Court.
  7. Also from the most recent patch notes: Missions in Bloody Bay and Siren's Call are no longer limited to level 25 / 35 and can now be run all the way to level 50
  8. It used to. It was standardized. . . I dunno. A while ago.
  9. Yeah, I didn't mention the PSU since the OP didn't. I actually give myself a 1/3 overage in my builds.
  10. Question: Referring to the section in another part of the patch notes where it says the Passport badge will no longer be awarded upon character creation - will the Passport badge be REMOVED from existing characters who do not meet one of the conditions listed above?
  11. I noticed this on my tank Chromatic Cat. I think the item name got changed, or maybe a pointer to it. It told me it was invalid but I reselected it and it worked fine.
  12. They have a purpose. My girlfriend took a repel power and says it's extremely useful in some of the incarnate trials (which she runs a lot of).
  13. I see only SIX objects on that cat.
  14. Interesting. I was wondering why all the public bases I saw had 4 digits but my base only had 3. That might explain it.
  15. Actually, it is a hack. Not by us and not a malicious one, but it was created for developer use only, therefore it was not properly designed. It was a shortcut that did not follow proper validation and design principles - which is pretty much the definition of a hack.
  16. Fixed that for you. I see. You subscribe to the calendar I saw that show Nov 28-29 as 'Thanksgiving' with all the rest of November and December marked as 'Christmas'. 😛 Considering that this is the third version and each version has had less revisions, I would say . . . . shortly. (Hah! I didn't say soon.) And by 'shortly', I mean maybe just before Thanksgiving but probably early December before the Winter event starts.
  17. Beats me. I have two accounts but I linked them to different email accounts because that's what I ALWAYS do in a game where I have multiple accounts.
  18. The update currently on the beta server addresses the Gun Drone problem. Now it has more armor and a bit less aggro. Gun Drone Now has 80% resistance to all damage Taunt aura reduced to 8ft, mag 3, max of 4 targets Death explosion now has a knockup component
  19. Solved. Even though my character is dual pistols, I had to go in to the costume editor and change the ASSAULT RIFLE. It was set to the default Legacy Assault Rifle which seems to be broken. Change it to something else and the LRM Rocket uses that Assault Rifle model.
  20. Eh, it's only a three week necro.
  21. Hey. People took Long Range Teleport. 😛
  22. Here is a screenshot of my character firing the LRM Rocket. When he draws it, his hands are empty. The blast appears about where a gun barrel would end, but no weapon is visible. He is dual pistols / devices.
  23. I'll offer some comments. I've built all my computers for the past 20 years or so, BUT I have never built around an AMD CPU, only Intel. I'm not familiar with the AMD CPU line-up but the specs on that one look good. Lots of power. I also bought an unlocked CPU because, if the cooling solution is good enough, the chip will overclock slightly on its own. I don't know if AMD chips do that too. Still $100 difference between the locked and unlocked versions is pretty stiff. Current pricing on my i5 10600K is only $15 above the locked version. My CPU runs at 4.1 vs your 3.8 but I only have 6 cores vs your 12. So your CPU is a good choice on that basis since more cores is important for most tasks while higher clock speed matters more for gaming. GPU - Well, I would go with a more powerful card. My general guideline for a 'gaming system' is that you want the CPU and GPU to be in the same price range. Now, you say you only plan to play City of Heroes on it, but you also say you want it to last 10 years. Some other game might come along that you want to play and the video card is a bit weak compared to the rest of the hardware. My CPU only cost about 2/3 of yours, but my video card is the Radeon RX 5600 XT. Motherboard - Looks fine. I like Asus boards. I have an Asus Prime Z-490P. Memory - Again, looks fine. I have 32GB DDR 3600 also, just a different brand (G.Skill) but Corsair is a big name in memory. SSD - Looks good. I play A LOT of different games, so I have a 500GB NVMe SSD on the motherboard for Windows and all non-game software and then a 2TB SATA SSD for my games. I would expect, however, that for photo/video editing that you would need a lot more space. Are you planning to add a big hard drive or do you have an NAS or other external storage? Additional Comments Cooling - Get a better HSF than you actually need. My CPU draws 105 watts (same as yours) but my HSF is rated for CPUs up to 150 watts. Thermal stress kills CPUs. Memory/motherboard compatibility - Take this seriously. I used the memory finder on the Asus web site *AND* double-checked it against the motherboard compatibility guide on the G.Skill site. Newegg - I've spent thousands there. Every build, I compare pricing on Newegg, Micro Center (I live near one) and Amazon. In my current system, everything except the HSF came from Newegg. My HSF is from 'be quiet!', who are a U.K. manufacturer and Newegg doesn't carry them.
  24. The load markers after the login screen aren't very precise. Using the Server Status page I linked to will give you exact numbers and also tell you how many are on each side (red/blue). Right this minute, both Excelsior and Everlasting show 'medium load' but have very different numbers of players online at 535 and 341 respectively.
  25. I'll answer that, as a person who doesn't power level. I think it's good for the game and helps player retention because it's DIFFERENT. It adds one more way to play the game. People who want to get their character to 50 quickly can do so.
