  1. I think it's underpopulated for one simple reason. The villain content is newer than much of the blue content and has better mechanics and design. It's just better content but it's less popular because a lot of people don't like playing the bad guy. I don't think the devs should be trying to incentivize people to play content that they personally find distasteful. The rewards should be balanced uniformly and people can decide on their own what content they prefer. If that leaves redside a ghost town, then so be it. We shouldn't be pressuring people to play content they would normally choose to avoid.
  2. I am doubtful about Atlas Park. I can tell you with certainty that characters in Atlas Park will normally show 50+1 because I just checked. Maybe someone who is on an iTrial league with people already on the trial map will show as +3? I'm skeptical of this, but who knows. Ouroboros: 50+3 Echo Plaza: 50+3 Atlas Park: 50+1 All checked by me just now. I didn't bother checking Pocket D because I would guess it works like Ouroboros so no surprise. I also didn't bother checking the Hive because it takes longer to get there. Edit: Okay, I went and checked Pocket D to be sure and it shows 50+3. Also, if there's any confusion, I was checking *BOTH* the Level Shift combat attribute *AND* the information displayed to other players when they target a character. I did not check The Hive because I don't have a character high enough level to get in on my second account.
  3. Or I'm just a pack rat. I had that file (and all other zones) on my computer.
  4. There's a way to do this. I saw a demonstration years ago. You plug some kind of doohickey into an outlet and then go to the circuit box with a sensor that can pick up the signal in the wire without having to connect anything or expose any wires at the box.
  5. Where are our jetpacks?!?
  6. Seems like both the boat to Striga and the boat to Peregrine Island were called 'Ferry". Here's a map from 2010 which show both marked with an F for Ferry. Edit: A response with corroborating evidence in just 22 minutes!
  7. This. That is the correct channel name (don't forget the S at the end) and there is stuff going on all the time. The channel MotD will tell you what high level content is scheduled each day. A typical week day has a Master run for a TF that caps at level 50 (Lady Grey, Kahn, Recluse, etc), followed by two incarnate trials going for badges. There's also a bunch of Hami raids and additional fast iTrials (BAF or Lambda) when things go fast enough to leave time in the schedule.
  8. I'll second that. On characters where I'm trying to max out recharge I'll get the Concealment pool and Maneuvers in Leadership.
  9. I just read that it seems that demo editing is the best method. Information about the process is here. https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Demo_Recording https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Demo_Editing
  10. It's spelled 'expletive'. 🙂 I was lucky enough to live in NY City so I have seen Broadway shows, operas at the Metropolitan Opera House, various musical performances at Lincoln Center, etc. Now I live near Boston and have seen a decent production of Carmen since moving here. 🙂
  11. Actually, it's one word 'wherefore' and it means 'why'. So the line, "Wherefore art thou Romeo?" basically means "Why did you have to be born into that family?" She's not asking where he is.
  12. This line reminds of Dr. Hubert Farnsworth. "Sure, everyone is in favor of saving Hitler's brain. But put it in the body of a great white shark and suddenly you've gone too far!"
  13. Now I'm picturing them all wearing cowboy hats and gun belts while robbing the stagecoach.
  14. 1. She's at the northern end of the huge suspension bridge in Independence Port, where the approach ramp takes a 90 degree turn. 2. The old way is to get your location with the /loc command and navigate your way to the coordinates you want. The new way is to use the new /thumbtack command. From the April 20 patch notes: Miscellaneous Coordinates & /thumbtack Added a /thumbtack <x> <y> <z> command to set the thumbtack in the minimap with world coordinates The /loc command now displays the current position as a thumbtack link Writing a location in chat surrounded by square brackets will generate a thumbtack link to that position They will only be considered valid if they consist of exactly three numbers, separated by spaces or commas Added the $loc chat variable which translates to your current coordinates into a clickable thumbtack link The /whereami command will now also display your current position as a thumbtack link
  15. I use it during a couple runs of Death From Below - until I'm high enough level for the Positron TF - then delete it and never use another on that character.
  16. Ah, my confusion. You were talking about the thread title. I would think most people would get that. I was looking at the forum name - Vulnavia Phibes - who, as I noted, is in two movies but is dead for the entirety of both movies. The Abominable Dr. Phibes Dr. Phibes Rises Again Both films star Vincent Price. The first one also had Joseph Cotten and Terry-Thomas.
  17. MOVIES - plural. There was a sequel. And how often is it that a character appears in a movie AND the sequel and is dead for the entirety of both films? (And vampires don't count, because they're UNdead.)
  18. Yep. I'm on Everlasting and I can tell you the TF channel posts a schedule each day. The first thing is a Hami raid at 7PM EST (which is midnight your time - other times of year it could be 11PM or 1AM). Next on today's schedule for 7:30 to 10 is Master of Miss Liberty TF, Dilemma Diabolique - all badges, Magisterium - all badges. Those will all get finished within an hour or 1-1/2 hours and then it will be BAF and Lambda until the Hami raid at 10. So, clearly, you need to completely rearrange your life and sleep schedule. That's the only reasonable solution.
  19. First task, do Mender Ramiel's arc. It unlocks the Alpha incarnate slot NOW so all future XP can go toward unlocking the next slots. I always do that immediately after training to 50. On a blaster, I would recommend you handle the arc the way I do on any 'squishy' - ask a friend to bring a tank. If you're on Everlasting, I can bring a tank to help you out. Regarding IO's, before you spend a single inf, pause and think. You've played the character to 50. What aspect of the build falls short? What do you find annoying? Do you run out of END? Do you miss too often? Do you need more recharge? Even an inexpensive build can make a huge difference. My personal example of this - getting my invuln tank over 370% regen bonus. Regeneration is usually the first set bonus and a lot of the sets are cheap. I 'frankenslotted' bits and pieces of different sets. I'm pretty sure it cost me less than 40 million if you leave out the Numina and Regenerative Tissue uniques (which only give him 45%). And, as multiple people have pointed out, there is no hurry on slotting IO's. Your build worked well enough to get to 50; it's good enough to keep playing while you plan. Focus on slotting your Alpha incarnate power. Figure out which power you want. A lot of blasters go for extra damage, but if you've been wheezing for the past 20 levels, maybe you want end reduction. My advice is use IO's to fix any 'problems' and then go with the damage. For max damage, you want Musculature, on the left side of the power tree. You'll want to get your Alpha slot to tier 3 ASAP because that gives you a 'level shift' and effectively makes you level 51. This will make hard content easier and/or let you turn the difficulty up a level to increase your inf gains. Run some incarnate trials. The servers I play on run multiple trials every single night and there are typically a few runs of the 'starter' ones - the Behavior Adjustment Facility (the BAF) and Lambda Sector. The only requirement for those is that you are level 50.
  20. On my one scrapper, many tanks and any defender or controller with strong debuffs (like my earth/rad troller), I solo it without any prep work. I clear every enemy possible before touching the debris pile. Then I charge in, take out the portals, take out Holtz and then the Honoree. On squishier characters (my empathy defender, blasters, etc), I do ONE critical piece of prep work. I ask my girlfriend to bring a tank. 🙂
  21. Yep. Every single one of my characters gets a Shivan Shard and Vanguard HVAS as soon as possible. That would weed out most of my characters. 😛 It can be, but I don't use it that way either, generally. You never know (especially with PUGs) when someone will faceplant and lead to other deaths and then you really need Howling Twilight to be available. Filthy casuals everywhere! Go purple your warshade.
  22. I'm not counting anything. I used Google and found a bunch of tables and spreadsheets that said Fire was best for AoE damage and Beam Rifle was best for single target. I surely don't care enough to do my own analysis of the blaster sets.
  23. My understanding is that Fire is king of damage when you have multiple targets, but Beam Rifle is number one for single target damage. Hence, when I made a character specifically for assisting with 'Really Hard Way' badge runs of the Magisterium, I went with a beam rifle / kinetics corr. Beam rifle for damage output. Corrupter for the scourge damage as Tyrant's HP go down (and his resistance goes up). Kinetics to crank up the team/league damage. It's a really effective combination for teams. Probably not the best for soloing since only some of your secondary powers can affect yourself, but good enough for me.
  24. I have to agree. They've always done it. They're stalkers.
