  1. Whats wrong with having a skippable T9 ? Almost every armor set has a rarely useful T9. Easily capping defenses isnt a problem either, use the slots somewhere else. My SR gets a ton of extra slots to use in other powers. I can skip elude, weave and combat jumping and still be above 45% defense. Thats 3 other power picks and 1 pool freed up (still taking tough). Having capped defense and decent resist that increases as your health drops pretty much makes you invincible as you drop below 40% hp. Its not comfortable playing at low hp when we are used to being full all the time but the reality of it is SR is the easiest set to become super with, you can do it with just SOs. Buffing over capped defense to add resist would require a nerf somewhere else. Do we lose the low hp damage resist? Thats about all there is to take because the other option would be lower the defense values and the suggestion is to add a buff to those high defenses, not lower the values. So the suggestion boils down to change the scaling damage resist to be at full strength while at full hp and remove build flexibility by making more slots and powers needed for defense abilities. And im not considering what this means for other ATs and power sets. They can cap defenses too, do they get free resists? Positional defenses add resist to all but typed defenses only add resist to that type? Seems a bit imbalanced for positional defense to give 8 resist types and typed defense only gives 1. Sweeping defense changes would destroy the games balance. It would be easier to make a new game than to gut the defense system from the inside and rebalance everything when its been balanced for the current system.
  2. Just dont to go the city information terminal and check the missions failed. That '1' cant be unseen.
  3. Grab them temp powers and heal the reactor core.
  4. I imagine there isnt a specific guide since no way is the always correct or only way. But ive made several builds from scratch through mids and ill share my process. I generally build with survival in mind since dead heroes do no damage. 1. I take every power that i plan to use in the primary and secondary. I get my movement power, hasten, and boxing/tough/weave. If the ancillary or patron pool has a survival ability i plan to use i will take that now. The level and order of taken powers is not important at this point. 2. I put 6 slots in every defense and resistance power. I place 4 pieces of luck of the gambler in every defense power and 4 unbreakable guard in every resist power. Then i slot both the +3% defense IOs in tough and the +resist IOs in weave. 3. I look at my defense/resist totals. This is where you find out how much the set bonuses in the rest of the powers need to be. Generally im looking at typed defenses since topping off the positional defense is difficult unless you have some powers already that boost it. 4. I add slots to powers and place sets in them based on what bonus i need. This includes swapping out the defense and resist sets from earlier to get the bonus i need. I try and keep the +recharge luck of the gambler. This part along with step 5 are the majority of time in making a build. 5. Those few remaining unchosen powers become set mules for bonuses i need. Choosing cross punch gives melee AoE sets if your primary and secondary dont have one, some good bonuses are in there. Combat jumping for more defense or maneuvers and tactics if i have a ton of extra stamina. I go back and forth with step 4 quite a few times at this point. Sometimes i will change a power to have access to different set bonuses. 6. Then i move the powers into the order that i would want if i were to exemplar. You can drag and drop powers in mids and it will swap their locations. 7. I call it good and get ready to do the respec or start the character and then realize i can get better stats by making some changes. So i fiddle around again for awhile until im happy a second time. My way isnt the only way but i hope it can help you to get started on some of your own builds.
  5. Do the thing ! I only said Eochai because its already a giant monster.
  6. Color Eochai green, give him a santa hat and spawn him in place or along side of the winter lord 10% of the time. Then he can steal your candy cane salvage and winter present inspirations......ok maybe not that last part.
  7. I think its an eliminate the extra steps suggestion. I buy crafted enhancements because i dont like to spend time crafting. I sometimes spend merits on purples or winter enhancements sometimes to bring the influence cost down on a particular build. My most recent i didnt use any merits though and it ended up really pricey. Next time i will probably use a few thousand merits to keep the influence cost down.
  8. With a team of 8 they will spawn a full group with LTs and bosses. Setting your notoriety to x8 might work also. Its useful for.....farming winter horde.
  9. You get the giant monster ambush in whatever zone the first person to exit the mission zones into. If you use long range teleport to exit mission to atlas park, it would spawn there. I *think* if you go to pocket D or a super base the ambush waits for you to reach a regular zone. It might be possible to log off and 'store' the ambush for later, i would need to test that out though.
  10. I missed that one, we could probably get several kronos timed with babbage instead of one. Coordinating everyone to go to kings row to add in paladins might be more difficult though.
  11. That sounds fun. Ill have my people contact my other people.
  12. Joking aside, increasing the aether per mission chance by 1/5 of the bonuses i used above would be a good starting point. All 3 at the same time would be 85*.2=17 Plus the normal 2% would give 19% chance for aether per mission. Lower level arcs would need to be lower values, this is meant for level 50 stuff.
  13. If seeing a boss when bosses are turned off equates to not solo friendly then the new content has nothing on the maria jenkins arc. With bosses turned off she sends u into a mission and u get to fight an elite boss. Then her actual story arc starts and you get sent into mission after mission with an elite boss even though bosses are turned off. Most of the time the mission giver will warn that a mission is difficult and recommend bringing a team. If we choose to ignore that and get our *cough cough* handed to us then its our own fault. Players concerned that the team is only making hard mode now should give them some time. Hard mode only recently was released and there is hardly any content for it. There are 2 TF/SF with hard mode and 2 story arcs that arent hard mode but are above average in difficulty. There are hundreds of other choices that dont fall under the hard mode umbrella. I would let the team flesh out some more hard mode options before getting concerned that they arent making normal difficulty content. With how they integrated hard mode into an existing TF the second time around, its even more possible they could seperate future story arcs into normal and hard versions.
  14. Any boost would still leave it lightyears behind AE farming. And ive also thought some of those settings should increase rewards as well. My thoughts would be a percentage boost to xp and inf from kills and not a flat reward at the end with higher bonuses when multiple options are enabled. Players debuffed +10% Enemies buffed +10% Enhancements have no effect +40% Players debuffed and enemies buffed +25% Players debuffed and no enhancements +60% Enemies buffed and no enhancements +60% All 3 at the same time +85% Thats just my thoughts on how it might go. I ran a low level mission with all 3 at -1 and those enemies were nasty. I had to be careful when there were more than 2 minions. It was like when the game first came out and pulling a second group was basically a guaranteed death. Edit: throw Jiro more aether.
  15. The butt cape clipping while you fly is a different kind of ugly compared to a full length dress using martial arts. Unless you like your leg sticking out through the fabric every time you kick. Certain mobs get robes because they dont have any abilities that would clip badly. We have certain power sets that allow for additional costume parts (weapons, shields, VEATs) but none that are restricted by choosing a power set. There is hope since the atlas park flag has collision with the player character but i imaging a cone shaped cape glued to your belt wouldnt behave correctly with the current programming.
  16. Do /whereami next time as well and post the generated message. It will have the name of the mission map so it can be found more easily. Depending on what map it was, the prison doors may have been part of a hostile faction. There is an orange force field door in longbow but there are also doors under different factions.
  17. I had to uninstall and redownload the new version to get back up and running. I think the MIDS guys input all the values manually so human error and missed a change in a homecoming update can occur. And if possible, place your mids install in a file path without spaces - 'MIDSReborn' instead of 'MIDS Reborn'. Ive heard it wont update if there are spaces in the file path. I recently did a small database update on my mids since necromancy>soul extraction was still 600 seconds recharge instead of the new 150 seconds this page. There might be more but im not making builds for all the powersets and paying less attention for errors when i do.
  18. You wont be booted while in the world if you are on a TF. Some people fire up an arc through ouro to get into TF mode and stay online forever. Connection quality used to be especially poor and they added afk logout timers to lighten the load on the server.
  19. but that screenshot is amazing. if they were enemies trying to kill you instead of henchmen and some tense music was playing.... on a more serious note, removing pet collision with each other like they removed it with pets to players would probably fix this issue.
  20. When you click someone who is online in another zone, whether its from your friend list, team, or league, the target window displays their name and says not in range or offline. When you try to target someone who is actually offline, the target window just says no target. Can the target window say what zone the person is in instead of saying not in range or offline? Obviously they are not offline because you can only see that particular message if they are online. On a team you can click the arrow to show everyones buffs and it displays the name of the zone for players that are in another zone but for your league it doesnt do the same. It would be helpful when forming large leagues to get an indicator if players are on their way and to help with giving directions when others are having trouble finding the zone the league is in. The game already knows what zone your team members are in, its possible to see it by showing team buffs. Im hoping that piece of information can be added to the target window, especially for when you are in a league.
  21. it can be troublesome when they get stuck on a previous floor and you want to just dismiss and resummon. I had a time when summoning all my henchmen only gave me 1 zombie. I backtracked and found a few of them but in the end i only had 2 zombies, 1 grave knight and the lich. I couldnt find the others. Hitting the shield during a MSR had my pets teleported away and i couldnt find or resummon them at all. i tried the slash commands and got nothing. I just killed myself for that one because i wasnt going petless for a MSR.
  22. Babbages for days dropping babbadges like candy. Spice up your Synapse runs with a few extra 24 merits instead of 6. Saturday night Synapse has been running on torch for awhile now and what started with a single weekly run has grown to be multiple teams running simultaneously. Its put together by @Kalikamata and starts around 8pm eastern time on Saturdays. They time the Babbage ambush to all occur at the same time and the league has a fun battle against the Giant Monsters. Heres a shot from this week with 4 Babbages Last week also had 4 Babbages Stop by Torch on Saturday if you enjoy smashing clockwork. Im sure if we fill out 6 teams, we would just start a second league and run even more. At any rate, this many Babbages in the same location at the same time isnt something you will likely come across on accident so enjoy the screenshots.
  23. Here we have Hugh Mongous. He is as big as they come, literally. His presence never goes unnoticed, partly because of the burning sensation in your retinas after he passes by. The screenshot above doesnt do him justice. Below are a few of his size comparisons. Here he is next to Ms Liberty Here is a shot of Hugh with Recluse Back Alley Brawler can almost look Hugh straight in the eyes....if Hugh had eyes. Finally we have Hugh on the character select screen. He doesnt fit.
