  1. Name it Spray and Pray and you have my support.
  2. I know you Truer words have never been spoken. Herah can sample the soil within 2 seconds of starting her Hami raid with amazing consistency.
  3. The trusty Zorg ZF-1 Pod weapon. We are missing a few of the better features though. Name it Pod Rifle if you dont prefer comedy, but i think the Zorg portion would possibly step on copyright or trademark toes. Of course we could just withhold information about the red button from the lawyers.
  4. Incandesence has the best buff to healing received in the game. It even improves the proc heal from power transfer and pancea. It increases healing by 80% on the tier 4. I use it just after the last pylon is destroyed on a MSR so everyone gets larger healing during the bombing and ukon battle. Some people might use it after ukon is spawned and there is a purpose to that as well - if your team doesnt do at least 10% of the damage, you dont get badge credit for the kill. With how often people are trying to still plant bombs while ukon is already up, several people say they never even saw him or didnt get credit. If there is a way for pets to share the same teleport option as their owner then i would say its worth it.
  5. The way to fix Assault Rifle is to rename it to FrankenRifle and make a new set called Assault Rifle that uses bullets for most of its attacks. Frankengun users get to keep their mashup of gun-ish related abilities and the new AR could employ updated mechanics.
  6. One fulcrum shift tends to hit for 5 to 10 buffs if you are in melee range (120% to 240% on a controller). With a single target i move my controller into melee range so i get the buff for hitting the enemy and the buff that eminates from the player for 60% in a single cast. Ill double stack fulcrum shift and siphon power for a sizable buff of 80% to 160% as buffs expire and get refreshed even against a solo enemy. Double stack against large mobs and a single kinetics can easily damage cap the team.
  7. I mentioned this farm in another post but i figure it needs its own highlight since the low level elite boss farms are almost completely broken since the last AE update. They either no longer scale to elite boss so you are fighting bosses for low xp or they are elite bosses but hit like a semi and you quickly die. In my not too extensive testing i was getting 3.5 times the xp/min compared to killing bosses and infinitely more xp compared to fighting the broken elite bosses since they kept killing me. I dont farm much and i never door sit, when i need some quick xp on an alt I hit up my elite boss farm. Here is the meat and potatoes for those who just want to get to killin' Arc ID: 48471 Dr Meinst EB Farm-Quick XP -set AV Off (Updated 12-12-22) This farm also takes advantage of placing the player at lvl 3 to give access to your lvl 8 ability while exemplared. The extra attack really speeds up the kills compared to being level 1 or 2 and not having the level 8 ability. You will want to set notoriety to +1, no AV. Setting it higher actually forces AE to reduce your exemplar level and block access to the lvl 8 ability. If you think you are hot stuff then you can set it to +2 for about 25% more xp per kill but without your level 8 ability your kills will probably be more than 25% slower. The Buff Bot is set to the imprisoned in green fire emote. Take a quick look around the map for the huge green fire and head over. I recommend flying or a jet pack when you head over to the Buff Bot. He has almost everything - fortitude, forge, accelerated, fulcrum shift, speed boost, painbringer, enforced morale and alot more. If you are squishy, let him toss a few buffs on you before you commence the slaughter (the enemies arent very strong but they arent helpless). You will become essentially unkillable after buffs, and even if you do take a hit, he has 2 single target heals that he will toss on you. It was necessary to set his behavior to aggressive in order for him to buff while out of combat. He is also set to melee to keep him close for fulcrum shift and siphon power. He will occasionally choose a target and run towards it as a result. Just follow him and kill that target. For the most part, he will behave. Have fun, and remember you cant spell slaughter without laughter.
  8. I know certain maps have issues if you move away from the entrance. My experience has been to open the mini-map and if all the markers for mob placement arent shown then the testing options dont work. Since i play with the map open almost all the time, ive seen the markers disappear when i move away from the entrance and reappear when i move back. The options greyed out and became available again when i moved back as well.
  9. If the tank and brute are on the same team and receive the same buffs and benefit from the same debuffs then the brute will have whatever the fury bar is over the tank. If buffs brought the tank to +300% damage then they brought the brute to +300% also and the brute generally maintains 90% fury with relative ease meaning its damage buff will be +480% while the tank is at +300%. I guess we could try and make a team that buffs the tank while ignoring the brute, but in that scenario anyone would out damage anyone else. In a realistic scenario with equal(ish) buffs, the brute will have fury% more damage buff than the tank. Im not gonna pretend that a tank cant ever out DPS a brute when AoE is involved, but for every non trivial encounter such as AVs, GMs, Hami, iTrials, ect., a brute will provide more DPS than an equally built and buffed tank. These scenarios that have the tank somehow buffed up to the level of the brutes fury but the brute managed to miss out on those same buffs makes no sense. The same is true with tanks somehow getting the benefit of -RES but the brute hits the same enemy and doesnt benefit? All these examples that place the tank and brute on different teams or getting different buffs to point out that the tank is somehow stronger are utter nonsense. In the 'example' that has the brute only reaching 569% damage and claiming the brute isnt caught up to the tank neglects to mention that the tank is only buffed to 369% from that same process. Tanks dont magically pull 200% damage buffs out of their....places....in order to nullify the additional bonus brutes have from fury. also as a side note, is there something im missing about the damage cap? everyone keeps saying tank is 500% and brute is 700% but im ingame right now and my combat attributes clearly max out at 400% and 600% respectively. tank brute
  10. I was at the damage cap and im sure the enemy was wrecked on resist. But it wouldnt matter at that point what the resist was, we would both be punching the same enemy and benefitting from any -res it had.
  11. A Winter Lord is what can spawn when you click on presents. Lord Winter is the enemy that you fight through the LFG que system - they arent the same enemy. But if you just want to kill powerful snowmen, the instance version will scratch that itch.
  12. My brute hit with knockout blow for over 3200 while in a league (or was it 3600?) with all the buffs and debuffs. There is no way my tanker could achieve that much.
  13. Give brutes weaker tanks is a strange way to ask, so yes, i did word my post through the lens of give brutes more damage. I did have an idea for a fury rework but it would probably step on too many toes and be better suited for a new archtype. Then it runs into the problem of how many melee/armor ATs do we need. I could probably make it work with assault/armor or armor/assault if i can come up with a name for this hypothetical AT.
  14. Well our good friend and thread necro expert is slavidormalecha. A relatively new account that only has 2 posts. 1 post necroing this thread after a year to link to another site that wants your money and their other post necro'd after 2 years to another site that wants your money. Id say it just uses AI to scan the thread and insert a halfway decent looking post to get you to click the link and lose your money. Sketchy at best, malicious at worst. I recommend not using those links.
  15. I do want Maelstrom's teleport kick attack. But thats probably better suited to a new power set instead of the gimp version that would end up in a pool power.
  16. That is the very rare Super Harvest Blood Blue Lunar Wolf Moon. Its first appearance is unknown but so far it had only been spotted in City of Heroes despite researchers best efforts to find it elsewhere. Legend has it that those who see it are playing City of Heroes and have line of sight to the night sky.
  17. Tanks damage was very low so it got buffed. Some might say they have even got over buffed. But buffing brutes because tanks got buffed isnt the answer. 2 months after a brute buff someone will be asking for a scrapper buff because brutes are doing as much as a scrapper. Then an AoE buff for stalkers, then they will say tanks damage is too low. And the cycle will repeat.
  18. I dont like adding slots to travel powers so its hard for me to take teleport because it gets so much better with some slots, combat teleport as well. I have a character planned that will use teleport exclusively for travel and combat but its not made yet. But pretending combat teleport got added as a popup to teleport after recall friend and teleport foe got combined into teleport target to make room for it, what would be put in its place? What does teleport need that it doesnt have? Long range teleport was given to everyone in the entire game to make room for fold space so it doesnt need that. Should it get an attack? Teleport limbs to leave your targets torso writhing in pain on the floor, unable to do anything as they bleed out. Im sure someone more creative than me could come up with something but as far as the teleport pool goes, it seems like it has everything it needs.
  19. Another reason given by a dev is the author would have to give up the rights to their work and accept any edits and be unable to take it down if desired. That doesnt mean the suggestion is dead on arrival though. If there were a location on the forum or even a checkbox in the AE interface that had something to the effect of 'i authorize homecoming to use any or all of this content and modify it as desired', even if the team doesnt ever rewrite an AE mission into an official mission, they could without having the above hurdles. I would be happy with a contact on the street somewhere that gave a random AE mission and sent you to random doors in the zone to enter those missions. All normal AE rules for xp and rewards should still apply. My least favorite thing about AE is getting a mission that is well written and have it watered down by using the AE portal to enter.
  20. since we're necro'd, someone might find this useful
  21. Didnt these cost real $$ back on the retail servers? I dont feel like them not going on sale is unfair to anyone. I actually feel the opposite, winter packs going on sale gave the advantage to those in the know at the expense of those who dont (new players). When i was new, i had no idea how people could manage to sell the contents for a 'loss' and couldnt afford to buy them as a result. It does mean the cost of their contents will rise but nobody has a 10-15M advantage over someone else.
  22. U got half a team worth of 'yes', 10 if you count the yes disguised as a no. Too bad the poll is anonymous, they could have gotten together for some missions.
  23. The standout for me is when i got Mercedes Sheldon as a contact....twice. I did her missions from the midnighter club and later got introduced to her again as a contact in pocket D. The second one never gave any missions and never left my active tab. Its been awhile now but i think there was some jumbled text when she was given as a contact the second time.
  24. The functionality is already in game. AE places you into some sort of psuedo TF mode. It blocks out your other contacts, exemplars or sidekicks you when necessary, puts the 'TF' logo under your level, requires you to open the team window and choose leave team when solo, but most importantly it lets others leave or join as needed in the middle of missions. If the AE taskforce mode were adapted for ouro and outleveled contacts without ouro, then alot of the functionality people are asking for would become available. We would run into a problem with merit rewards at the end of ouro arcs this way but i think its solvable by either only giving merits to those that were there from the start or only give them to the team leader like in a normal story arc. The option to run in normal TF mode should remain though and run in AE TF mode would be an added check box.
