So far Cutter has the winning design, I think, but is it missing a colour?

Weekly Discussion 51: Kallisti Wharf!
ArchVileTerror replied to GM Miss's topic in General Discussion
I'll be a strong dissenting voice and say "Yay" to Arachnos. They clearly already have a presence in Kallisti. I think that should be built off of and explored more deeply. Arachnos has a LOT of potential, but writing for them is often split between treating them like a complete joke, and taking them seriously. I feel there's a line that can be walked down the middle. Serious, but with enough comedic beats as to remain fresh and engaging, rather than demoralizing. In other words: Include Arachnos, but take care and take your time in ensuring their involvement is written well. -
Tough palette . . . Made a troll and/or mutant sort. Heavy drinker, hence the shades during the day.

Monkey Fight Club (It's Not a Secret Anymore)
ArchVileTerror replied to VileTerror's topic in Everlasting
A Whole Weekend of Rikti Monkey Fights! Friday the 29th, Saturday the 30th, and Sunday the 31st will each have Rikti Monkey Fight Events! 8pm Eastern for each of the three nights! Same place as ever: Sharkhead's Rikti Monkey Fight Club! -
Our latest planning phase has taken place, and we are now actively recruiting Judges for the contests! We will have two costume contests: Singles and Groups and one Biographies contest. We already have people tripping over each other to be judges for the Biography contest, but we're happy to have more volunteers. Please contact me here in the forums, or in-game at @VileTerror if you want to contribute to the judging process. Thanks!

Weekly Discussion 51: Kallisti Wharf!
ArchVileTerror replied to GM Miss's topic in General Discussion
As discussed in other threads, Kallisti demolishes my active memory, and has been the single leading causes for my game crashes since Homecoming started. I would greatly appreciate that optimization efforts are the first thing on the list for that zone, and that any player-run or official events take place in less resource intensive zones until that issue is addressed. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. -
-Maybe- the engine will deliver on some of those promises, but I honestly don't think it will have as much as a positive impact on workflow as some are hoping. And efficiency and optimization are still VERY important. Just because an engine can allow a dev team to be sloppy, doesn't mean they -should- be. For example, Darkest Dungeon is a fantastic game, with a beautiful aesthetic that doesn't require a lot of processor power . . . in theory. But the game is so poorly optimized that is ravenously chews through active memory like some kind of shambling monster. Shortcuts are only beneficial if the trade off doesn't end up causing more severe issues, as far as I'm concerned. Bloat is a horrible, horrible thing that needs to be carefully pruned.

Go with Super Speed or Speed of Sound, and call him Bullderdash? -

I think you're actually pretty golden with Mechanibull, or change it up a smidge like: Mechanobull. -
Weekly Discussion 50: Darkness Control
ArchVileTerror replied to GM Miss's topic in General Discussion
I am okay with a pile of wispy canines under the condition that the Shadow Beast can be a not-doggo. Of course, for ultimate parity, we must also make the option of kitty Haunts too when we add a Jaguar as another option for the Shadow Beast. -
Those stats can not be enhanced, due to those stats sharing functions with their opposites. It apparently makes things quite screwy. HOWEVER! They -could- all be given IO Sets. Those Sets wouldn't directly enhance the problematic aspects of the Powers, but could still enhance things like Accuracy, Recharge, Endurance Cost, and Range. These could then be given Procs which improve their inherent function. In fact, they could be given TWO or THREE Procs each. HELL! There could be a six Proc Set, if that's what we really wanted to do. So, short answer: Not conventionally, but there's a workaround just waiting to be implemented.

That's making my stomach churn. I thought videos of over-hype like this died out a couple of generations ago. ugh Edit: He's annoying some times (most of those times), but frankly . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_tUYiK-0IM Jim Sterling hits a few points which sum up my feelings pretty well. This tech demo isn't really anything -new- . . . it's just more iterations of the same old cycle. I don't want photo-realism from my games; I want an enjoyable experience! I do understand that not all resources are equal, of course . . . but there's something to be said about plunking down thousands of dollars on a graphics engine, and then even more cash and work hours to "live up to" that engine's "full potential." And what's to be said is: "ugh" Maybe I've just seen behind the veil too much. The horrid downward spiral which the cycle of new "upgrades" in hardware or rendering brings about. It used to be that I just wasn't very interested, but lately it actively makes me grow weary.

Is work on page 6 ongoing or stalled?

Is work on page 6 ongoing or stalled?
ArchVileTerror replied to aethereal's topic in Open Beta Testing
Not that they -need- to tell us in advance, but I figure this team deserves holidays and vacations from this game. It really helps avoid burn out if you can take occasional breaks, even from a passion project. If they're on such a break right now, I hope it's a restful and rejuvenating one! But, yeah, on the other side of this: I'm always an advocate for greater and fuller lines of communication. I know not everyone agrees, but I still think there's no such thing as an "over-share" or too much information. -
"Rising Pinnacles" Roleplay Game System Rules (working title)
ArchVileTerror replied to ArchVileTerror's topic in Roleplaying
. . . *glances back and forth* . . . . . . considering what one of the two campaigns I'm running right now under this system are . . . Ahem. NOTHING. DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. -
"Rising Pinnacles" Roleplay Game System Rules (working title)
ArchVileTerror replied to ArchVileTerror's topic in Roleplaying
Part of what I intended for this system is for players to take it and use it however their personal groups wish to. I don't harbour any "but it was meant to be X, and you're playing it Y" as ill-intent. I consider it the whole point. If someone takes this system and does their own things with it, and the people they play with are all enjoying themselves, then that's all I really want. But, yeah . . . your reading of the Positive/Negative Traits seems to be on-point for what I intended, @chase. -

Aye; Epic Archetypes can't start on the opposing side or run the Tutorials. But any Hero/Villain Character can visit Null the Gull to switch sides. Note: Praetorians do not have this option, but you can't have an Epic Archetype Praetorian either.

P2W Option: Reject White Salvage Drops
ArchVileTerror replied to Zeraphia's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Can we just have a "dump all X Salvage to Auction" context menu item? Followed by a "List All for X" button? That'd be nice. Everybody wins. -
Rightio! You wanna take the credit?

Damn. That is a BEEFY boi, there Joe. And I imagine he doesn't even have any beef in him! Impressive.

Any time you have a spare 1,000,000,000 . . . spend it on a random Tier 1 Inspiration. Make someone feel like they just won the lottory.

I believe that's where if you get defeated, you delete the character.

Likewise, Mass. At least until Exemplar'ing was a thing. At that point I would keep a series of characters between 5 and 3 levels below my main, and run content while having that lower level character artificially reducing my main's level. If someone delves in to the old Legacy forum archives, they might find my occasional posts during the first couples years asking the Devs to add an Experience Toggle. When they finally added it, it was one of my most appreciated additions. The fact that it provided double Inf was especially appreciated . . .
