You have an excellent point, srmalloy, and the change does negatively impact the way you used the Power. But that's not "DPS." What you're experiencing is a decrease in Practical Damage, which is frankly the more realistic measurement of damage as it relates to gameplay. DPS and DPA are both great tools for theoretical applications of damage, but your example highlights why they fail to be ideal measurements for how people actually engage with the game mechanics regularly.

Monkey Fight Club (It's Not a Secret Anymore)
ArchVileTerror replied to VileTerror's topic in Everlasting
No bar fights (yet), but there has definitely been some great roleplay and character development at past events! Last night didn't happen; couldn't find any interested attendees. Hopefully things will go better tonight or tomorrow evening. -
Ugliest/most useless costume pieces?
ArchVileTerror replied to Jawbreaker's topic in Art & Multimedia
Head Hunter Belt, maybe? -
My first-ever screenshot. Taken so long ago, it used the old "screenshot_0001" format for naming, and therefore I have no idea how old it actually is. Another one so old I don't know how old it actually is, other than to say: This was a dance party we held on the Atlas globe when the Dance Emote was added to the game.

I may have been you in Everlasting Help talking about this last night, but even if not: Yup. Specific neighbourhood Hunt missions are gratuitously frustrating. That one in particular. I think they should all be looked in to and adjusted for ease of completion.

That's not just affecting AE; I've noticed that bug in all content.

April 18th Black, White, & Grayscale Costume Contest!
ArchVileTerror replied to GM Miss's topic in Events & Contests
Depends on the turn out. Back in the days of Yore (ie: Last year, during the population lull), the turn outs were less than 20 people sometimes. THOSE contests flew by quickly! The last two? Hoo-geez! I can't speak for other Shards, but there were so many people on Everlasting that it took quite a while to get to the winner announcement, and that was with the two GMs moving at a very brisk pace as they glanced at the various contestants. -

Monkey Fight Club (It's Not a Secret Anymore)
ArchVileTerror replied to VileTerror's topic in Everlasting
I think we're going to have another one of these some time this weekend! Please contact @VileTerror in-game to find out when! -
Gambling? Like Rikti Monkey Fight Club? https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/15702-monkey-fight-club-its-not-a-secret-anymore/ But, yeah; I'd be okay with the game taking over for me. It's honestly a bit of a hassle to run these things. As for the roleplay and narrative contextualization of the gambling of Inf: Inf -includes- money, favours, and resources. Hell! Someone can even bet on their reputation. Gambling with Inf is entirely justified with in-game lore!

Remove the Gender-lock on Costume Pieces
ArchVileTerror replied to Nayeh's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Not in Canada nor Germany, where the game servers are now located. In fact, I may need to double check, but I'm pretty sure -most- countries that aren't run by religious government bodies tend to have decriminalized (or never criminalized in the first place) depictions of topless women. Because, you know; people are people. It's really very much a u.s. thing to get up in arms about women's breasts, for some reason. Be that as it may and sorry to get ranty (hot button topic); but naturally it won't be a matter of just flipping a switch. Even with texture swapping, I've seen what the male topless texture looks like on the female model. There are other concerns . . . like the musculature. And then there's the statement from Jimmy already that the Homecoming Team have a standard for quality which they intend to adhere to. Now that asymmetrical costume pieces have started to roll out, we might see some attention to gender parity and/or NPC costume pieces making their way in to the player rotation. Time will tell, since I sure haven't been able to find any other reliable source for information on the subject. -

issue 26 Patch Notes for April 1st, 2020
ArchVileTerror replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
I got "A Nemesis Plot" Badge by being AFK in the Cap au Diable Facemaker last night on my main. Apparently simply being in the zone during the event's conclusion is enough to earn the Badge. -
City of Heroes timeline was always messy, but yeah . . . any semblance of time progressing based on level was totally thrown out the window (again) with the Galaxy City Tutorial. But then stuff like various Praetorian invasion missions obscures the timeline even further by flip-flpping between the "in the now" timeline AND the "level progression" timeline. In short: Use your imagination and play pretend that it makes sense! There's no guarantee that anyone else will be playing by the same rules you are, but considering how many player-characters are "The -ONE- who single-handedly X, Y, Z'd" . . . yeah. Tis a silly place.

I could not begin to fathom what Homecoming would be like if it were being run by Emmert.
-
Thanks for getting that! I would just like to recommend throwing a "2020-04" at the end of the filename to represent when it was compiled. I believe there are plans to make adjustments to rewards, as indicated by Jimmy in the discussions of the recent patch notes thread (that was split off and made in to its own thread in General).

Dark Astoria is fiiiiiiiiiiiiine. I certainly don't see any ruined buildings there. Do you?
-
I don't remember seeing any Neo-Shivans in either Dr. Graves or Twinshot's missions which take place in Post-Meteor Galaxy City. I figured that they had contained the Shivan somehow at that point, and just need to haul the meteors out of there to initiate the restoration process. Then again . . . look how long it's taken the City to fix Boomtown.

Take Your Child to Work Contest! ONE DAY ONLY!!
ArchVileTerror replied to GM Miss's topic in Events & Contests
I'm fairly sure it has been shut off, Obsidian. If you're still seeing Baby New Year in-game, I would recommend filing a /petition to report the problem. -
You certainly aren't alone. Even if Galaxy City is not restored, one may be able to take solace in knowing there are others who share the passion.

It's a Fifth Column base. The whole place is already a toilet full of filth. -
Electrical Affinity "seizure" animations on allies
ArchVileTerror replied to Keen's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Generally, Naraka, it's my understanding that it comes down to context, situational expectations, and the perceived risk of griefing. A player can "psyche themself up" before going up against an enemy which they know has interactions or content which they find distressing or personally harmful (or simply avoid that enemy all together in some cases) and still have the opportunity to play the game. However, should a fellow player be able to perform a "drive-by buffing" with absolutely no warning or contextual clues, it can be rather upsetting. Particularly since there are players out there who strongly empathize with their character, and a loss of agency for the character translates to a loss of self-empowerment for the player. Short version: Not everyone's the same, and some people are more sensitive to crap they find harmful than other players. -
I think Jimmy's in the U.K. though, right? Wouldn't that place him at, like 9AM his time?
