  1. Pretty much all of the dark ones, my vision isn't what it used to be after all. 😉 I've been in the engineering field for several decades and can see a certain level of practicality in both the Arachnos and Council bases in their construction. Arachnos have all the ledges to allow for multiple firing points in a low light environment and dark uniforms, spiders striking from all around. The mesh is also deliberate for visual disorientation as well as lighter to transport, faster to assemble, and provides flexible attachment points for, piping, conduit, and other appurtenances. The maps that actually bother me due to my profession are several of the city sectors such as Skyway and Boomtown. A lot of engineering and physics do not/would not structures. *chuckle* The downsides of a former workaholic...too closely tied to work. lol
  2. GLaDOS was in charge of the cake. I think she said she was even preparing a special room for it. :P lol
  3. Likely Faultline for me. Sure, the lost are a problem and clockwork are all over like seagulls in a dump, but the place has potential with all the rebuilding happening...not to mention the best donuts in Paragon. Nice architecture, newer digs, burgeoning businesses, and a quaint park all lit up at night by the soft undulating glow of the war walls. Nerva Archipelago on the flip side would be the second choice. Plenty of sea air...not a lot of crazy high rises and plenty of smaller islands to set up a nice cabin (with panic room) on away from the nests of the Lost, Family, and the conflicts between Arachnos and Longbow...yet still be close to shopping and entertainment.
  4. subterranean satellite dishes? 😉 Okay...I can see how this 'could' be made to work logically and per engineering & telecom principles. Treat the satellite emplacements like kaiju in a way where they are set up in silos...rise and deploy when the mission arc gets tripped or as part of a TF. Have to destroy them fast before the 5th or whomever can hack the Particle Beam sats in orbit to rain fiery doom upon Zone X or call in Shivans/Rikti invaders etc.
  5. Martin O'Brien was the poster child for what happens when you let a child genius watch way too much MacGuyver, read too many comics, and then ignore them while they play with those old worn out Crey microwaves, clockwork, and bits of uncollected broken tech from hero-villain clash sites they kept dragging home. By the age of 16, Martin had built his first power cell and armor...and then refined it as he got older. Now 22 yrs old, he has adopted the moniker of 'Subatomical' and taken to the streets to join in the good fight against evil...and to score with the cute girls.
  6. Been playing several toons...and once you hit Indy Port/Talos Isle...it seems like all of the half dozen contacts I have give the same Sky Raider, Tsoo, Family hunt, and Freak missions..at the same time. I've almost come to just go with radio missions instead since it seems to be the only way to get variety. And Kings gives almost nothing but Skulls... The Hollows are a better place to run around than Kings for mission variety in the 5-12 range.
  7. Major Holocaust: Fire Melee/Rad. Armor Brute Major Allan of the USAF was the experimental pilot of a spacecraft using a new drive system reverse engineered from Rikti salvage. The test was fine until the engine engaged…and exploded in a massive surge of radioactive fire that plummeted into the atmosphere. Major Allan was presumed dead…however his mutated body washed ashore in the Rogue Islands with fearsome radioactive fire powers, his flesh burned away leaving a partially skeletal body trapped within this special space suit and an extremely warped mind. Now burning a swath of terror across the Rogue Isles he has adopted the name of Major Holocaust.
  8. Make zone 1 volcanic with lava fields, tubes, and caverns. Zone 2 - pirates, smugglers, etc on one side of the bay and rich tycoons with their private security and such on the other. Coralax and/or kaiju in the bay between. Zone 3 - Merc. Training base on one of the small islands, sanitarium/ questionable medical labs on another, tsunami destroyed district and salt marsh on the main with a central suburbia type urban area (praetorian refugee central?)
  9. Section 5- Fishing/Seaside Residential type port in the 15-25 level. Sea Zombies, Coralax, Smugglers, and Arachnos sleeper cells. Haunted Lighthouse on point. Section 8- Upper end residential (mansions & estates) in the 25-35 level range. Family (Illuminati), New Syndicate (from Praetorian infiltrators), Rogue Private Security (Mercs), Outcasts Section 7- Rail yards and airport in the 30-40 level range. Clockwork, Crey, and Devouring Earth (infested Crey BCU types included at defense line). Section 4- Quarries, mines, Asphalt/concrete plants, steel mills in the 35-45 level range. Seismic based power set villains, Lost, Rikti, 5th Column. Giant Rock Worm Kaiju Section 2- Damaged Urban/tourist area (from Galaxy City meteor misses) in the 15-25 level range. Shivan, Outcasts, Family Section 1- Low Level urban near Boomtown fading to small farms westward in the 20-30 level range. Circle of Thorns, Warriors, Mutated animals. Section 6- Embassies and office buildings in the 15-25 level range. Foreign Security forces, Tsoo, Family, and Crey. Random Council & Arachnos group attacks on embassy(ies). Section 3- Seaside residential multi-family, Casino, and park in the 10-18 level range. Coralax, Family, Trolls. Undead filled morning fog kaiju type. (Basically a new villain group or three, upper low to low mid-level content zones outside of just Kings Row if not hunting in conflict zones...order of zone by idea occurrence).
  10. One of the things I had been excited about reading the cover print back when CoH first came out was that literally any Mob victim could pop a quest or quest string. I mean answer honestly, how many folks go out of their way to rescue the mob civi's from green or grey level bad guys? Maybe one of those rescued folks run up with a random mission along with their thanks for being saved...something they heard from the folks assaulting them or reason they were under assault. It would be a nice surprise and encourage more non-mission heroics IMO. More mission choices from contacts would be appreciated as well. It seems like I get the same missions from multiple contacts within a zone at times...which is a real drag.
  11. Obsidiman (Hero-Tank)/ Major Holocaust (Villain-Brute) here from Triumph's glory days. Back in action on Torchbearer now. :) Been a long long time. A hello to anyone I used to play decoy for back when!
