Mostly Torch...but I do have some toons on Everlasting & Excelsior for when I feel semi-social.
-
@SeraphimKensai I worked 10 yrs in Public Works Engineering as the Permit Reviewer /Engineering Inspector/ Erosion Control Code Enforcement myself where the hours are even longer (32 hrs straight on-site for one emergency sewer repair project) and the public complaints never ending while trying to get things done with a never sufficient budget and learning to smile even as you know contractors/builders are lying to your face. Those council meetings were usually dead boring. 😉
-
Isn't this simply a case of "if the Tsoo fits?" 😎
-
Like any City Council...they make decisions about issues that nobody knows are issues and if lacking an issue to make a decision on then they'll create issues to make decisions about that nobody finds out about until they do become an actual issue. That and they work for Nemesis. :P

Christmas and other "events" are kitsch for idiots

Well...as someone who was raised not celebrating 'holidays' as they were for Devil Worshippers or <insert nominal derogatory name for whatever delusional misfits you like to blame> I can agree that the events are more annoying than fun. BUT! (BIG but...not butt...just but as in the exception) That's just for me...and yet...I have never, nor ever, feel a need to spout off anything near the level of meadow muffins of the OP. Obviously a lot of folks DO find the events fun and all that...(still waiting for Recluse to show up dressed as Statesman on April Fool's though) and being a game, the majority being entertained rules. Then again...the OP could be going for the GRINCH Badge. (do they have a Grinch badge yet? No? They should...think of how happy poor l'il Mary Lou Whoo would be!) OH LOOK! KEEBLERS! (runs off chasing the elves for their cookies laughing insanely....) -
Why is it that few people seem to read the entire post?

Having grown up hand milking the cows, running it thru a filter before letting it set in the jar for a day, then skimming off the cream for the butter churn before drinking the milk... All of the stuff sold in the stores was like drinking badly flavored water. Took me nearly 25 years after leaving the farm before I could tolerate even the whole milk. Now old age health issues force me to use the 0% fat stuff. I'm sure this is yet another Nemesis plot! -
@Techwright: That's why I qualified that with an IF it was localized. 😉 @mistagoat: I split my time between Atlas and Galaxy when starting toons. Atlas if I was looking for a PUG and Galaxy if I just felt like solo crunching for a while. Interesting mention about Echo. didn't know that option was there. thnx.

From a FEMA and Public Works viewpoint (the latter was my day job for a decade though I've been in civil engineering for four decades) if the damage in Galaxy is localized and readily repairable then it would be a priority in order to get folks back to their homes and businesses running ASAP. The Hollows has a lot of still habitable area; just cap the broken mains and services, a bit of rebuilding and dumping the debris into the conveniently huge crater needing filled and building a perimeter wall with guard posts and some dump stations for all the Boomtown debris needing removed. Between the Hollows and Faultline, plenty of holes to fill. Boomtown is a massive clean up and demolition before any actual meaningful repair work can be done. Faultline has the added fun of not only demolition but also geotechnical stabilization after all the environmental permitting issues are met. Realistically, all those building shored up...only as long as it took to evacuate them, then they'd be demo-charged along with those chunks of broken earth simply per safety regulations. So...realistical short answer would be that; no, it wouldn't really look all that odd or suspicious if it was one of the first things rebuilt. In terms of Game and Comic trope...given how fast collateral damage from meta battles gets fixed...what the heck is taking these guys so long!? 😉 lol
-
Yeah...Galaxy needs to come back. I mean, the last thing Paragon needs is more destroyed zones. Faultline has been under re-construction for 20 years now, Boomtown is pretty much deserted and abandoned with only token rebuilding going on, Terra Volta...crucial industrial & power...overran and inaccessible to the populace, Crey's Folly is prime industrial left to rot while overran, Dark Astoria...simply written off, The Hollows...overrun despite being the easiest to recover/rebuild, the Rikti zone where the last bits of war still rage on, Croatia...under siege, Perez Park...overrun and abandoned, Siren's Call a war zone, Kallisti Wharf...not sure since I've never seen anything alive there when I visit with my pre-50's toons, Eden...overran and and abandoned, and of course Hami's home. Even the sewers have been abandoned as too infested by danger for Public Works to maintain much less enter...the bad guys just need to plug a few key pipes and the city will drown in its own...well...yeah. >< Striga is more villain town than Paragon extension given it's the Council HQ so not really counting it. Leaving only Atlas, Kings, Skyway, Steel Canyon, Talos, Indy Port, Founders, Peregrine, and Bricks with functional living & economic activities despite having criminals running rampant. If the capes and cops are fighting crime...they're doing a good job of losing the war despite winning a few battles. So 14 conflict/ruined zones vs 9 habitable and functioning zones. Heroes and Public Works need to step up their game! 😉

I definitely need more sleep. ( Oo ) Read the thread title and suddenly had Guns n Roses Paradise City going thru my head though using the thread title for lyrics... *checks the water bottle for any signs of praetorian tampering* 😶

I'd say bring 'A' Statesman back...though the original is long toast and stays that way. Someone new taking up the mantle (kinda like Green Lantern or Wildcat) and being a focal point of hope in a time where shadows are growing in the cracks left behind. Is it Cole subbing in or yet another hero clone from one of several groups known for doing so or just a young hero with similar powers, etc.? The old arcs are there...but any of those three points contain potential for many more new arcs. And then there's the potential for trying to retake Praetorian Earth from Hamidon and its minions or just rescuing survivors from the ruins such as those that had been hanging on in First Ward despite the big kaijuu orbiting overhead.

3 hellions in the breakout plant bombs mission!

Just breakin' outta the Zig there and your villain already has a fan club! lol -
You forgot the Illuminati is real and ran by the Malta Group. :p

Be sure to read the best seller "Hare Care!" by his siblings, March Hare, Wild Hare, Dyed Hare, Crazy Hare, and Short Hare or he makes a visit. 😁

A good one for a Song power based character would be Bassoon. (I tried...but just cannot warm up to the support classes particularly as I solo.)
-
Unless you're from Praetoria...then it's "I think I'm a clone now..." 😄
-
Of course you're not alone. Private eyes...they're watching you...🎶

Just remember, all proceeds go to the Statesman Orphans Relief Fund!
-
Villainous Spine/Stone Armor Brute named Ubee Dedsoun. He's really into Toxic Rock.
-
Given all the shanties on the ferries etc. it looks more like a Family operation...or the Pirates of the Caribbean.
-
More helmet types too please. As to travel powers, about the only thing I could come up with would be like tank treads or wheels flipping down from the lower legs as an add to the super speed stuff which, as noted above, are headaches of a different level. I mean, you have flight, jump, run, teleport already...short of actual vehicles things are pretty well covered already.

I heard from an AI that they have a room dedicated to cake at Portal Corp that's to die for. So much so that the security is insane.
-
Well...Dr. Weber on Mercy Island did make reference to creating his own army of infected. These must be the advanced scouts smuggled in by Arachnos to support Thiery's betrayal in Atlas Park (or make sure he is ended if he betrays them). That or Weber's drug creating Infected got mixed in with some of the Superdine shipments to the area.
-
Agreed. Things have been fairly mellow and the appearances of any pinheads is pretty rare anymore. I know I can be annoying myself...but that's more because I have the IRL social skills of a brick more than any actual animosity or what towards anyone.

Opinions are going to differ. I've been an RPG gamer and one of the early release OD&D players since the 70's and have been watching brick and mortar stores fold left, right, and center the last 20 years; watched as about 40% of the gaming conventions nationwide have folded and vanished and the attendance of the majority of those surviving outside of a few has dwindled a fair bit (I suspect mainly due to costs going from 20$ for a weekend to 80$+ plus travel & lodging prices going up which is what has stopped me from attending several I used to frequent); haven't been able to find folks to play with for over a decade unless it's the unholy trinity (WH40k, the latest D&D mutation farce, and M:tG) where once you could get half dozen folks overnight with a LFG post online or at the FLGS; and I don't see as many other heroes when I'm online playing CoH...which is fairly often. So statistic data (which being in engineering for nearly 40 yrs leaves me a bit jaded on) may say one thing but direct observational data over nearly 50 years says another. With more of the online tabletop simulators and such there is an increased detachment from face-to-face gaming and the migration of players, many whom have the 'OH SHINY!' syndrome, is pretty normal. But yeah...overall...it's not doom n gloom all is lost by any means.
