  1. You mean 90 minutes or so. Nobody who calls themselves a speed run player would take over 2 hours for Dr. Q, assuming all are level 50 with the TP tools. The fine folks in Veracity SG on Torch did it in less than 75 minutes. 74:33 to be exact. The 3 hour timer would be for folks who are casual and going afk a lot.
  2. Debt is ALWAYS a worry. It slows down your leveling process. Even for a 50, unless you're all t-4'd out. I'm one of THOSE guys that takes the game too seriously sometimes. I loathe defeat and try very hard to make my characters as survivable as they can be and still have higher than average dps.
  3. If you run this at 0/1, use reveal from p2w (10,000 inf), it's pretty clear where to go. Just ignore all the mobs. First mission - you put on Super speed or ninja run, zip through the first door way, pass the goons up, leap across, enter the next door way, turn right, follow the path, ignoring mobs until you get to the stairs leading up to the CoT boss. (or lieutenant). Smash him, hold him, however your AT dishes out damage, then go back out towards the way you came - and take the door to the left of the door you entered. By using reveal, you'll see which way to go from there. The 1:30 or 2:00 you get is really 60 to 90 seconds longer than you need once you know where to go. Worst case - use your SG TP macro and pop out, but it's a long hike back to Theoden, the contact. I'd never do this on a team, it just takes you 10 minutes or more to gather a team up, and another 10-20 minutes to actually do the arc because the extra mobs slow you down. People are always fussing about xp, when they don't realize that the faster you do a mission, the sooner you get to the next mission to get the same xp you would have gotten by slugging it out with every mob on the previous map. But that's a whole different topic.
  4. Except the procs. No need to boost the Glad Armor 3% Def, as you get the 3% no matter what level you are. Same with the other "chance to XXXXX".
  5. An interesting discussion! So..where to begin. I have 3 accounts. (a bit of a silly story about why the third, but that would be a major digress) I have 30 level 50's on my primary account and 22 sub level 50's. I have 5 level 50's on my secondary account, and 3 on my third account. (closing in on a 4th and 5th, should have them in a week or so) I tend to solo more often than not, due to not being able to devote full attention to what I'm doing. I wouldn't want someone tabbing out mid-mission repeatedly, so I'm not going to do that to someone else. So how do I avoid things getting stale? Finding contacts I haven't used recently. I speak with the origin contact at level 10 or so, after a dfb or a lot of hunting, and get introduced to a number of contacts that aren't Shauna Stockwell, Matthew Habashy or Twinshot. I had been ignoring the cop in the Hollows for a while, but have done one, some or all the arcs in the Hollows with a number of characters. Some ATs are better suited for trolls and igneous. I try not to forget the SSA arcs. Tasty merits, and decent stories. And fast, if you're inclined to speed through them. In the back of my head - I'm always looking for contacts that give Clockwork, Freaks and Fakes - because those factions tend to reward with the Gear Smasher, Tank Buster and Unveiler badges, if you can get enough of them - and ALL of my characters pursue the passive accolades. Additionally, I have learned to switch to redside and do the Mayhem badges for invader, and while there, I'll do the patron arc for more options for epic/patron selection. I don't always go with Black Scorpion, sometimes I switch up, and rotate them. Lastly, when things get fairly routine or dull - there's the AE. Not farm missions, but player created stories. Back in the day, @police woman put out some great ones, and didn't disappoint in HC, either. There are more than a few great stories in there - you just have to look for them. Oh! Sorry - one more thing - the thing that makes the same stale missions new - is often new teammates. Some are duds, but others can be quite refreshing.
  6. The good news is that paragon wiki will tell you what we USED to get. HC seems to have increased the amount of merits in some cases, but there is no "Master" list of merits for HC that I'm aware of. Without thinking, I tried to update the paragon wiki and got a reminder that there are now a zillion different flavors of CoH and it may well be that none of them are the same, so they removed my edit, as they should. It may be a project worth undertaking. Certainly a lot of merits would be earned.
  7. I certainly agree with the Sig. Story arc out of Skyway. I run this one for almost all of my characters as they reach levels 10-15. With Reveal from p2w, (10k inf) it's easy to see which paths to take to get out quickly in the first mission. I run it twice, back to back for a quick 40 merits. (20 each for the non-math people) I use half to sell for converters to sell for my start up costs. Gotta spend inf to make inf in many cases. At the least, I need to have enough to post things of higher value. The other half I use to actually convert stuff.
  8. Hami does indeed give the option for 4 emp merits per character, per day. I know Excelsior and Torchbearer run each evening. Excelsior at 10pm (ish) Eastern, and Torch runs at 9pm (ish) Eastern. Conceivably, if you have enough level appropriate alts, you could milk hami for 24 emp merits a day. One thing I've done as I've gotten a little bored with iTrials besides UGT and RHW Magisterium efforts, is power level an alt for 1 to vet level 24 to get 160 emp merits. Then I'll email the emps to an alt that I actually play.
  9. Ebil? Is English not your first language? What am I missing? Is "Ebil" a common typo? I know what evil is. No idea what Ebil is.
  10. That City of Badgers download isn't working properly for me, so rather than waste time fiddling with it to see if it's user error, I know I have them all, I'll just skip it.
  11. Unless there are some I'm unaware of - I believe I've got them all!
  12. Anecdotally, without looking at numbers, Bitter Ice blast with Overwhelming Force seems to me about as fast as you can get as far as animation and recharge goes. Damn high dps, too. It used to be the highest single target attack from what I remember, but someone came out with a spreadsheet that suggests Blaze is better. I'm not convinced from playing both an ice blaster and a fire blaster. I just don't think anything can beat Bitter Ice blast. And even if it can, a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion, still.
  13. Something is screwy with the system. I've done this - and as you state, either someone has hopped in and bought it while I was switching, or there's something screwy. I even posted one on my primary account and tabbed out to my second account to purchase it - mere seconds and still had to pay more. Multiple times, just to try and see. Never works, at least, not for me.
  14. I don't know how much I had to do with this or not. The past 10 days, I had been placing bids on PvP recipes, buying as many as I could that met my asking price, crafting, and selling. As a result, I needed to keep all 3 tiers of salvage on hand. So, I'd place what I say are reasonable bids - 500 for common, 50k for uncommon and 500k for rare in stacks of 5, as there's only so much space a level 10 can stash the inventory. (said character is earning Chronologist before I do anything else with it) Since it has the badge now, I've cancelled all bids on recipes, salvage, etc. - but if I think about it - I must have been going through 600 uncommons about once every few hours. And that's just me. There's at least two others that I know are doing this, as we've been having to increase our bids to surpass each others bids. The idea of a player or players being behind the increase in salvage is just ludicrous. Even at lots of 100, going from 2k to 60k...that's a lot of clicking for very little return. Top room in salvage inventory is 182, I think. You'd have to have multiple characters doing this, probably three accounts..it's just too tedious in my head to think someone would do that. They'd have an easier time of buying ALL the converters and reselling them at 101k each. (a thought that has popped in my head more than once, seeing these converters sell so cheaply. But with the big merits being doled out for the weeklies...it would take quite some time to see a return, and it would be downright mean) Also - anecdotally - either a lot of folks have gone back to work, or something - but I've seen prices of a number of IOs drop 25%. I've thought that it's really not even worth the effort to use the converters for their designed purpose now. In fact, I've three accounts, each with a great afk farmer - and none of them are farming now. I have one pseudo farming for incarnate xp and threads (and the emp merits which I'm really after) and I'll pick and choose those recipe drops, but if the prices don't pick back up, I simply won't bother. 2m for an Aegis? 5m for LotG 7.5%? Sure, I like to buy these cheaply, but I'm not going to spend time converting for such a low profit. Already have made my fortune, maybe it's time to let someone else play the farm game while I spend and use what's stored in my email and sg bases. Interesting times, for sure!
  15. One thing: "One other important thing to know about fungibility is that crafted IOs and attuned IOs all share the same bucket. If you want an attuned IO, one way to get it is to buy a crafted IO, buy a catalyst, and attune the IO yourself. Or, you can buy an attuned IO directly from the pool for the same price and save yourself the price of a catalyst. You can actually even sell a crafted IO and buy it back from the pool as an attuned at the same price. " This is not always the case. I can place a set IO for a price, say 2M. I can than try to repurchase it attuned at 2M - but I have found that I can't always repurchase it for 2M. Sometimes I have to go up to 2.2, 2.5 or even 4M to get it. I don't know why, but despite my trying to buy for the same price I posted it to sell at, this has NEVER worked for me. It always costs me a little more to buy it back. I've even tried it the other way around, when trying to boost IOs for a character - it always costs me more - and I'm not forgetting about the AH fee, either. Sell for 2m, have to spend 3m to get it back. It could be someone has beaten me to the punch every time. Or it could be the server is so slow, it hasn't even processed the one I posted for sale yet.
  16. IF it is the case that the impact will reduce the income gap between newer and vet players so newer players can kit out. But I don't think that will be the case. It will reduce the new earned influence in game for both veteran and newer player alike (when they exemp). There will be no difference in the income gap. Put another way: If the veteran player had 4x income (arbitrarily pulled from the air), and the newer player had 2X income, the change will now be the vet player having 3x and the new player having X. The "penalty" or inf reduction is the same for all players. Prices aren't going to drop that much, if at all - but I could certainly be wrong. The reduction in inf is just not large enough to make that much of a difference. But, I've certainly been wrong before.
  17. I wasn't sure if this was a typo, but not sure where else to report it, so this is sort of a duplicate post. I initially sent a petition in game, thinking that was the right course of action. The GM response I got seemed to think this was working by design, as it was the only uncommon IO of the set. I suggested that was mistaken, and was referred here. The Performance Shifter set - the End Mod IO - can be slotted at level 7. (I slotted this in my fire tank's consume at level 16, as I'd just taken it to test this) But - the rest of the IOs in that set require level 17 to slot. The description from within the AH does state level 7 requirement, so it's not wrong...but I found it odd that only one of the set can be slotted at level 7 and the rest at 17. (Tried to slot the rech/acc to test, but it wouldn't) I looked to see if it was possible to place a bid for a level 10 Perf. Shifter End Mod IO - and, of course, there weren't any. Even with the "For Sale" unselected or selected, all of the recipes for the whole set start at 20. Additionally, only the Attuned IO can be placed at level 7, as all the non-attuned start at level 20, as they should. So consider me an exploiter in this case for one level. 🤣
  18. So, I've done this mission for every one of my characters in the level range 40-45, for Tina McIntyre. It's Part Seven: Shut down the time accelerators. 5 glowies to click, the text reads: "You begin to deavtivate the device." As most should know, the letter V should be replaced with a C. I can't believe I've done this mission 30+times and never noticed it before.
  19. I don't think this is a typo, but not sure where else to report it. (Tried to slot the rech/acc to test, but it wouldn't) So..not 100% certain this is an error, but pretty sure none of them should be slottable until 17. So consider me an exploiter in this case!
  20. I cannot stress enough how much I agree with and appreciate this wisdom. It's not to say you wouldn't be worthless on a team, but you'll have more confidence in what you can do and can't. Even if you're a "Support" character, you should still (eventually) have attacks that are slotted, even if they're in your secondary.
  21. What a fantastic question! We should always strive to improve, in game and in real life. Unfortunately, "better" is relative to where you're at now. And we can't measure improvement without metrics. Some would tell you "just have fun"...and leave it at that. Fun is subjective. Your fun may bore me to tears, and vice-versa. So, first - what AT and powersets is the character that you want to improve? What factors are more important? Damage per second? (DPS) Surivivability ( combination of layered defenses and resistances) Leveling speed? Your powersets and AT, depending on what they are, will strongly influence the answers to the above question, and may also bring more questions. My best advice is to download MidsReborn. It needs an update last I checked, as it doesn't have the newer IOs that came out last patch. However, if you're not rich in influence (200m or more) then there will be a limit to how awesome you can make your character. So...how much influence do you have budgeting to spend on your build? But - suppose being kitted out with the better enhancements isn't part of improving your character? If not - we need to get some direction. Want to be a better badge hound? Download VidiotMaps and the new patch. Both Vidiot Maps and MidsReborn are found on this forum, under the tools & utilities section. Want to have the answer to 90% of your questions without using the help channel? Google search "Paragon Wiki" and bookmark it. You will probably use it every day. I know I do. Sometimes to answer a question for someone else, sometimes to determine what zone the next mission is in. It varies. Tell us what you're looking to improve - level, AT, powersets, and we can be more helpful.
  22. You're right. I thought 12m was a fair amount and it would have bought it just as easily. That's why I feel bad. If they paid 70M by mistake, I don't think I'd offer to return it, lol. Darn low-ballers.
  23. You're entitled to your opinion. I never said anything about min-max. I suppose that's my fault for using poor word choices. When you state, " ...because a blaster should be death walking not death napping.", it told me that while you may not be min-maxed, (but fine tuned!) you at least understand what a blaster is and how it's played. And you're certainly correct - the player, despite quality of build - can slow things down by trying to be an individual instead of part of a team. I've seen all through the spectrum on this. Some exceptional, some really lousy. You say your stalker doesn't need it. I don't know your stalker. I've got a dual blades/reflexes. He doesn't need it either. But, he has it. Faster recharge is the ability to use the longer recharge attacks that dish out more damage more often - at least in theory. Depending on the build, some would have to invest other slots or set bonuses towards endurance recovery to make up for the increased use of endurance that hasten brings. And, with criticals, the faster recharge attacks can certainly make up for some slower recharging more damaging attacks. It all depends. "These tools allow us to go outside the box". Interestingly put. What's wrong with that? Nothing! There's more than one way to do things, and more than one right way, too. But, I stand by my original statement. If you have the resources to get the stuff and you're not using them, you're not performing as capably as you can. Slotting Combat Jump or Hover with an LotG 7.5% is just a no-brainer. While it's true that most builds wouldn't even notice an improvement in that tiny bit of recharge, they add up. Even more of a no-brainer are the 3% def and the 5% resist IOs. There's a reason those are so expensive. People know they're helpful. It just makes sense to use them if you can get them. It doesn't make sense to not use them if you can get them under any circumstance that I can think of. Some builds might be super tight and not have the slot for it because they're thinking about some other set bonus. But for the most part, if you're not using them (and you can afford them) you're making a mistake. Just my opinion, do it your way.
  24. If you bought a glad armor 3% on April 10th - you show me the screen shot, I'll refund your loot. 120Million inf...ouchie!
  25. You can play well for what's in your build, sure. But, if you have the resources to play with 45% s/l defense, max HP, and you do not get them and use them - you are not playing well. You're playing half-hearted. You're not invested. You're just goofing off - which is fine - but don't think for a minute you're playing well. And the truth is - if a player has the time to read the forums, everyone is capable of having the resources to make the most of their build. That's not to say they must. Or that they're of inferior character if they don't. It's to say if you want to play well, you're kidding yourself if you think you are without making the most of your opportunities. It's totally up to each player how they want to play. Fun is subjective, I'll stipulate to that. But the notion that you can casually dismiss a good idea because it's just a choice doesn't sit right with me. There's a lot of the players who want to do things better, faster, stronger. They want to be super. The original suggestion has no down side, if taken up, other than the price of lotg 7.5% will come down because there will be another option.
