  1. Masterminds are the third most popular AT in the game according to the Massively OP article a month or so ago. They also are considered the worst AT in the game for endgame by far, and need a lot of help. Popularity means nothing.
  2. Yes, as long as you don't charge for it/people can view the stream for free.
  3. Yes, and that Synapse either didn't realize that or simply didn't care is a design flaw of the PPM system. 25% of the Incarnate Alphas shouldn't be "gotchas," nor a waste of Incarnate salvage. But I think he did realize it and did care. Word is that he was actually getting ready to get rid of PPM and try something different, but then Paragon Studios was shuttered out of nowhere.
  4. Yes, but that was 20 years ago. Times change. That community can now be provided by an in-game global channel (which didn't exist for the first year of the game), and either Discord or a web forum and Mumble or TeamSpeak just as easily. Which again means that there's no longer anything that a supergroup can provide that an in-game global channel and Discord cannot. So why join a supergroup, as doing so would just limit your storage potential instead of using a personal supergroup base and you can connect with your friends just as easily outside of a supergroup? There's just no longer any reason for supergroups to exist other than for personal supergroup bases... which again, personal. No additional people.
  5. The fact that PPM in combination with either the Agility or Spiritual Alpha can cause you to do actually less damage than if you hadn't slotted either Alpha is I'd say a significant design flaw. Prior to sunset, Incarnate abilities weren't exactly the easiest thing to come by. Even on Homecoming, procs being made very significantly worse by 25% of the Incarnate Alphas isn't exactly good. That there's nothing in-game explaining this to you is another issue on top of that.
  6. Those undead minions are more competent and reliable than the average PUG.
  7. I'm sticking strictly with changes made from 2013 on. I'd rollback veteran levels. Best quality of life improvement? SO enhancements available at level two. Upgrade button is a close second.
  8. FWIW, a bit of a history lesson on the development of PPM can be found here. As noted by @DreadShinobi in that thread twelve years ago (wow, do I feel old now), is that one of the major issues with PPM is that it kills the viability of the Agility and Spiritual Alpha abilities. There's also nothing in-game that makes this apparent.
  9. If you're using the cel shader, disable it.
  10. Not just by Incarnates, but by continually keeping a hundred or more large or super inspirations in your in-game e-mail, and munch on them like candy.
  11. SCoRE/Resurgence killed the reasons for supergroups to exist. By removing prestige and making supergroup bases available to all for free, there's nothing for a supergroup to work towards, and there are no other benefits for belonging to a supergroup. There's nothing that a supergroup can provide that an in-game global channel and either a Discord server or web forum and Mumble or TeamSpeak server (if you want to old school it), can't. Not only that, but as you've pointed out, you actually hurt yourself by joining a supergroup with other people as you limit your own storage instead of just using your own personal supergroup base. There is now literally no reason for supergroups to exist. Not a single one. I personally don't mind, but if people want to bring back the concept of supergroups to Homecoming, then they need a complete and total overhaul. There needs to be some tangible benefit to belonging to one, and right now that simply doesn't exist.
  12. On the other hand, that hasn't been updated in eight months. There's been a few web-based or mobile-based character builders attempted over the past five years, but they've all quickly died. I suspect that it will never happen.
  13. FWIW, you don't have to take part in it. I didn't. If the Mapserver event hit whatever zone I was in, I just left the zone and did other things.
  14. On the other hand, I'd rather it didn't because it was a good excuse to expose people to zones on different sides. I just avoided whatever zone the Mapserver event was going on in. If you make it blue, red, and gold simultaneously, no one would leave a blue side zone. May as well make the event blue side only.
  15. People play on Excelsior because that's where most people are. It will obviously have a strong hero to villain ratio imbalance compared to other shards because if the people are playing there because they want to be around the most people, they'll play blue side because "everyone plays blue side." True story: It takes just as long to fill PUG red side teams on Indomitable as it does Excelsior. Average of about 20 minutes on both shards.
  16. "Mark forums read" and "Sign Out" are uncomfortably close together on mobile. There's no confirmation, so I keep accidentally signing out on mobile when I am trying to mark the forums as read. It's been a long while since I last administered an Invision forum. Would it be possible to either separate the two options a bit on mobile, or add a confirmation prompt to signing out?
  17. Synapse TF, Dr. Aeon SF (regular), and non-speed run advanced modes mostly.
  18. FidoNet was my stomping grounds back in those days. I miss the flame wars in the Star Trek sections of FidoNet. I may or may not have helped instigate quite a few of them. UseNet and FidoNet are both still around, but are husks of what they used to be.
  19. Ugh. That's one of my pet bugaboos. I've seen far too much of that on PUGs, to the point that it occasionally makes me want to tank just so I know that I'd have an actual tank on the team and not someone playing a safer Scrapper, and I hate playing a tank. Too safe and too dull for me.
  20. There are two ways currently to obtain the Avid Reader badge. The first involves creating a Praetorian character and running through the Precinct 5 tutorial. The second way involves doing an Incarnate trial and reading Prometheus' dialogue. Meanwhile, Isolator and Jailbird can both be obtained via their respective tutorial like Avid Reader, or via running the Ouroboros introductory story arc - which is usually ran solo. It would be nice if there was an additional way to obtain Avid Reader without either starting a character in Praetoria nor having to do an Incarnate trial. You can get very seriously burned out by regularly playing gold side (or at least I do), and Incarnate trials can be hard to find on lower populated shards. I don't know what this method would entail... perhaps an Ouroboros mission to read walls of text? I don't know. I realize that this is most likely a pipe dream, but hey. It can't hurt to ask.
  21. Yeah. As someone who only plays on Indomitable, I gave up the idea of obtaining every badge. So instead I have a couple of solo only characters that I intend to eventually get every possible badge that you can obtain solo. That's a very large amount. There's only somewhere around 130 badges that you can't get solo.
  22. Long time, no see! Welcome back to Paragon City and the Rogue Isles!
  23. The only two Controller power sets that I could bear soloing are Illusion (but only after Phantom Army), and Symphony. Symphony is much more of a blast set than a control set. The others? Yeah, no. I'm a bit of a masochist, but the others are too painful to solo even for me.
