Sins of the Devs are visited upon the players

At least the writing's good! Redside Bestside dangit! But you're right, the scenery needs a serious boost, and hell why not give me another contact or two while you're at it! -

This is very true. Or, I propose, since CoH is so big of a MMO, before taking that big break try and find something that maybe you've always(not you specifically, just a general comment) wanted to do. Wanna make that awesome AE arc? Now's the time. Wanna do the long-form project that is base building? Get to it! CoH is so casual, you can 'soft-break' by just doing the oodles of side activities that maybe have caught your eye but you never got around to. It's working surprisingly well for me so far. Granted, I am now angry that I haven't been working on my arc like I should be whenever I do log in 😛 -

The thing with INF: Thanks to Aether and I think my initial interest in HM(driven by my love of my Symph/Therm at that time), I was able to accrue 5bil. Now, mind you, I have...I dont even care anymore amount of 50's over all of this time, and I ignored the easy path(took me...3? Years to get to this point). And that's actually a GOOD thing, 'least for me. I like to think that the only reason I'm not fully considered casual is b/c I played CoH way back pre-shutdown and had prior knowledge to work off of, but I digress. Not chasing that INF made it so I had a reason to play CoH, and I think a lot of folks may be in this camp, which is why you see post about Inf issues and such. Truth be told? Getting 5bil after making most of the builds I wanted...is kinda pointless. Now, what keeps me even playing at all is using AE for actual story content. I think someone mentioned earlier about how it would be a nightmare if CoH billionaires got bored and quit, and I generally agree. I think that while sure, it's fairly easy to get inf and folks can/should try and read the guides, I think maybe the biggest issue is there's...nothing really to do with all that Inf. What? Donate to a CC(or depending, fund it yourself :P), or buy aether for some vanity costumes, or spend it in the tailor(good luck on that one!). Maybe we need not only more casual arc content(we do. We really do.) but also something actually worthwhile to spend inf on( That's a hard one, since build funding isn't really an issue, and I for one am not for MAKING it an issue.) The issues surrounding HM is a whole 'nother can of worms to deal with in and of itself though, as I think has been noted plenty in this and the OG Feedback thread. -

But like, you can go to PD and literally get rid of that issue. And then, when you're not tired, you can put it back on. -
This doesn't look good if that's your version of "live and let live". Not like you could even if you wanted to, break into their house and FORCE em to play in a team sure, but this doesn't look like "live or let live".
-
They teleport either out of LOS(smart, even if I hate it :P) or in a line 5ft away. It's a toss up if it's smart or not, really. *The AI, that is. Teleporting SHOULD be a smart tactic.

A mean, wits would be understanding that THIS IS A VIDEO GAME. As in, on both sides, no need for personal attacks. Go outside, come back in, take a breath, and go redside because common sense says: Redside best side! >:D -

I had 25+ trollers at 50 preshutdown, I agree with the sentiment. Post-relaunch, I saw a healthy amount of trollers, and their impact was felt pretty handidly when they were around. This idea that they're just so useless has always irritated me, as they were my fave control AT, before Doms. To reiterate, for those reading, trollers don't need more of a shining role, they already have one. They DO NOT NEED anymore of a reason to be in a team, folks just need to understand what it is they do, and work within that parameter. -

Blappers do considerably more damage. I'm not saying you're playing it wrong, just, well, that's why they usually are in melee. Seismic does okayish damage (personally I'd like it to get juuust a smidge of a bump, but hey.) but a purely ranged wont touch (and shouldn't) a melee blapper in damage outside of Fire(and even then, a Fire^3 that is comfy in melee will smoke the all-ranged Fire, again, as it should.) because of the risk they take to do so. Good point on the Scrappers though, until you consider Judgement, which ofc as we all know turns every situation into Blaster-nuke damage, which I don't necessarily see as horrendous(though I guess those who oppose Incarnates would, but then again, and no offense, I don't care what those folks think at all.) -
I have a Rad/Dark that I believe is more than HM Capable. Can't go wrong with Rad armor as a consideration.

I feel she's HM ready, but never got the opportunity to take her into one (darn abundance of tanks! jk :D) The TLDR of it is: With Meltdown, which helps the damage so ya wanna use anyway, you're at 90 to everything but cold (72%) and psi (75%). With Melee Radial (for extra tankage cause why not?) You get ~57% melee def and a smattering of high other defs Added Barrier for even MORE tankyness, and because I wanted to end up Tanking the HM 4 Aeon fight but see prior statement on tanks 😛

The forums isnt the game though. The game community is wonderful usually. The forums are the worst of the community usually, minus a few specific sub threads. It’s ALWAYS been a shit show, it’s just P4 makes some of the folks here more vocal is all

I feel Sheeps long forgotten that people aren't children anymore. I personally future-proof my account because I don't HAVE that kind of time to waste (yes, waste) a month or two grinding out every meek little IO to make my builds. I can slap a build together in an hour or so on a new 50, because not too shortly after, I'll have another RL project to attend to. Luckily right now I have more time than usual, but it's not a guarantee, andI feel confident in saying that's the case for a lot of folks here. -
Petition to limit incarnate use for new content (ITF, etc.)
Seed22 replied to Sarn's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
There is though. And no, it shouldn't be for everyone's experience. Don't tell others how to play. It becomes a really nasty slope to go down. An example? You want less incarnates, someone could want no SO's, period. Everyone should have IO's and if ya don't? You don't get to join groups, at all, for ANY content. That's a bit extreme, but trust me, folks would retaliate in kind, and it wouldn't be pretty for the game overall. If you want old school, I get it, but there exist ways to make it happen already for yourself. If you insist on telling others, then I must get hyperbolic myself: If you play without IO's, delete every toon you have without them. Non IO'ed toons(old school) slow everyone down and are an absolute burden on our already limited support. Harsh, right? By the way that team chemistry you described is holy trinity garbage. Best not to do that here, outside of I guess HM 4, but even then that's a stretch. EDIT: PSA for folks seeing these other folks advertising that barrier is a must, please inform them; all the barrier in the world won't fix sloppy tactics, and sure as HELL won't stop cascading def failure in ITF HM. It won't save you, and you WILL die a considerable amount. -

Seed22 replied to Sarn's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Is this an alt account? Sound likes an alt account post to me 😛 Barrier doesnt invalidate support. Ya get 20 sec of 90+ def. Do you really think that'll save you on HM 4? It doesn't, it really really REALLY REALLY doesn't. I've seen this myself, what you're seeing is probably someone taking it far too seriously and thinking barrier will be their savior because they saw that YT vid of...forget their name, cycling barriers for the secret fight for Aeon. I swear on all my Inf, Barrier Won't. Save. You. Trust me, no one else really feels this way besides you and Astra, and also barrier isn't the problem. Also this suggestion will never happen, so I hate to be the bearer of bad news too -
Nerf Destiny before Any More Advanced Difficulty TFs/SFs
Seed22 replied to Astralock's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You'd be surprised! Plus, In all the HM ITFs I've been in, there's what? one or if im REALLY lucky, two barriers at most? That's not gonna carry very well. Now what you might be seeing is Aeon. To which yeah it kinda sucks to cycle barriers as the most reliable way, but if you forgo that strategy (which it still is a strategy), you can just stack support, so the issue isn't fixed, just laterally shifted. Which, will then lead to "Nerf X support set!" and can get kinda ugly from there. -
Its not. 10 for secret fight+ 20 for 4*

Im thinking Symph may get a bit of a lookover in regards to descriptions and whatnot at a later time. Could be wrong, hope im not( for the descriptions, to me everything else is fine.)

Can I ask what was your team makeup? I did HM2 on my Symph/Therm and funny enough, we had a PB as main tank. Only real deaths were from the final rommy fights, which was a fun doozy. HM 3 however…we did well, but we REALLY got worked over on Rommy in that one. Hell, it’s where I’d say all our deaths came from. Weirdly enough we didnt struggle with the twins which I know folks had issues with

Trollers and doms are VERY different. Trollers will have longer innate duration. Symphany takes time to ramp up, and since you're young, you'll feel the pains even moreso. Give it a lil, then get perma dom and you'll soon see why dom's are freaking nice.

Thoughts on how to encourage players to form task/strike forces
Seed22 replied to KaizenSoze's topic in General Discussion
You make some very valid and interesting points. In fact, I used to be in the very same predicament waaay back in the day. My best advice if I may? SO's and DO's dropping frequently won't fix the cost associated with keeping them "up to date". It'll cost you way more in the long-run, I'd recommend making use of Training Invention enhancements. They're basically DO's(kinda? I think) and you never have to really re-up them post 25, as they're basically at that point SO's in effectiveness. It'll save you a helluva lot in the long-run, and hopefully smooth over some of those new player/SO pains.
