You make some very valid and interesting points. In fact, I used to be in the very same predicament waaay back in the day. My best advice if I may? SO's and DO's dropping frequently won't fix the cost associated with keeping them "up to date". It'll cost you way more in the long-run, I'd recommend making use of Training Invention enhancements. They're basically DO's(kinda? I think) and you never have to really re-up them post 25, as they're basically at that point SO's in effectiveness. It'll save you a helluva lot in the long-run, and hopefully smooth over some of those new player/SO pains.

I'd personally like to see some new arcs first. HM is okay and all for those who like it, but I really think arcs are needed. Badly.

EM is NOT OP. It LITERALLY only deletes in ST, how, in any situation, is that OP? and that's the main thing for EM, hit hard and fast, but only in ST. Let me set the scene: The current meta, for any who min/max in any capacity AT ALL, is AoE. EM is king of ST.

I’ll offer to make builds for them, so they aren’t tempted to see the vitriol of these forums. EDIT: I dont want any folks I recommended to play CoH’s first experiences to be tainted by well, threads like this.

EDIT: To be clear, and drive this point home, blueside has the largets players on it, and the contact mishs are TERRIGODAWFUL from 1-50. Thats not good, outside of select arcs

Actually GOOD fucking leveling content would be nice for once. Hell GOOD story arcs beyond what Peice did would be nice too. Want people around? Give em something GOOD to level with instead of what we have now

This was accurate maybe 3-4 years ago. As someone who actually has a fire farmer, let me tell you those numbers aren't true unless you're multi-boxing 3+ Fire farmers and even then? Yeah still most likely not true. I PL all my newer alts because I wish I would PUG them from 1-50 again after all these years. After my farming from 1-50 is complete, this is what I'm looking at: 86mil and anywhere from 0-3 purples. I'm not raking in 500mil-1bil anymore like I used to, and that took me a week of just farming for an hr a day to get that back then (I can't handle my butt in a chair for 8 hours :P) And most 50's who get PL'ed in AE have an outside funder of sorts. I'd hope you wouldn't PL a 50 unless you could afford it, but then again, different strokes for different folks? The only objective FACT is this regarding AE, everything else is subjective: -Fire farming gave more XP than intended and has been normalized -Emp to RM has been removed, but vet levels can still give Emps for Incarnate abilities That's it. The devs normalized AE fire farming, no other outside takes really needed on "how to fix AE"

…I never played on Excelsior for long, so I never saw those LFG post. Also, I mean, the rest of my post indicates I’ll be running more of the content myself, so I do enjoy the content 😄 I completely understand this take though. My run when I organized one had a few downers in it, so I sympathize with you on that. My apologies! Didn’t mean to come off as hostile

I think that creates it’s own problems. If folks never feel they can PUG it, how can the content get more facetime? I did try pugging it and it was rough, but I hope folks dont just scuttle away into their own little community. Instead I propose this: Folks who know should try and help players through it so we get a wider pool to play with, instead of just chalking it up to a lost cause. But because I know folks won’t do this, I’ll instead try to. On Fridays post page 4 launch, I will be running relentless runs of Aeon and ITF( not on the same day I’m not insane and sure as hell dont have time for that :P) The kicker? It’ll be PUGed. I want 2-3 silent helpers to see things along/make sure the newer folks get THROUGH the run, and the rest will be off of LFG. I think this would circulate more folks through HM because: 1.) It’s on a day I figure more folks will have time. I’m hoping to run it in the late ish afternoons to allow more folks to get in on it! 2.) It shows the newer folks that yes this content CAN be done by you, and yes there ARE teams patient enough to help you through it. I hope some folks here will join me in this effort!

As I see HM content I think things will play out like this: Similar to when Aeon came out, ITF will hijack the WST to drive interest in HM runs. You'll see more Kill Most than HM. ITF HM, since it has the benefit of being a well known TF in it's own right, will see a few more months of activity than Aeon Since there is no secret fight to ITF that requires badges, I think most folks will run it at 1-3 stars at the most. After, being conservative in guessing here, ~4-6 months? The novelty of this TF will run out completely and folks won't run it anymore, at least not the higher HM's. A very small part of the community will run it like they do relentless Aeon. Outside of that see bullet #4 While the forums may not be a great indicator, it's all we've got. In-game is too volatile. This poll and subsequent comments show me that probably on a large-scale bullets 3-4 apply. Bullet #5 will encompass the remainder. Not a bad thing, but I stand by this forecast of events, would be interested to be proven wrong though.

They will still be fine. My blasters, esp. Fire/Time, will not even notice this change. All 50's going forward will just build for Ranged and call it a day, unless it's poison. Then build for Melee I guess? Still tempted to just slap Ranged DEF on it too and call it a day. I take these changes as: You now don't objectively HAVE to take Scorp Shield. Now it's just a choice, and you can still be survivable to everything.

I call it “sweaty” or “minmax” content. I usually do it once or periodically but thats what the content essentially is. …..That doesnt mean I wont do it 😛

I get what you’re trying to say, but because you dont play endgame, you have no idea how difficult this content ACTUALLY is. Let me tell you as someone who does? It’s not easy and folks wont be steamrolling through it. Also, the fact I can just trade the PAPs means this would be invalidated immediately as a solution
