This picture will forever make me giggle. 7.26% over softcap to MRA with nothing but SOs. 3.36% over softcap after turning off CJ. Weave does add quite a bit, though. 7.8% to all.

page 3 [FOCUSED FEEDBACK] Super Strength Adjustments
Bill Z Bubba replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
In this case it works exactly like defense. The *functional* resistance cap is 90% for tanks, yes. Oh, AND brutes. Forgot about that. But the power granting you that resistance has a real enhanced value and Mids' shows it to you. This character has 101.86% SL resistance. When Rage's 20% resistance debuff hits, he'll be dropped to 81.86% SL resistance. Not 70%. Resistance can build over-cap just like defense can. Edit: Yes, this means if you're using Invulnerability and have Unstoppable up when Rage crashes, you will not notice the resistance side of the rage crash. Looking at my brother's Stone Armor build, while in Granite Armor, he'd still be over DR cap to SLFCT if under Rage's 20% resistance debuff. (He uses Axe but you get the point.) EDIT: Picture below is from my Invul tank, not my brother's Stoner.) -

Hasten has 2 min duration. PB has two min duration. Set hasten to autofire and set PB to keybind v and fire off after hasten autofires. /step 2 profit. -

Nah. Debuff values are perfect as is. -10% defense and -20% resistance, no damage, recovery debuff, the whole 9 yards. Fark rage. -

Good resistance sets can just build in extra resistance helping them to ignore the -res debuff. -
Full disclosure, once I got Barrier into the mix, it definitely became a different ride. She's handling PI and DA at +4/x8 without too much issue.
-
After the testing I did, and these two statements, I find it hard to justify bothering with either powerset. I really thought the tohit debuffs from DM would benefit Regen greatly but given the number of faceplants I had even at +1/x8 while doing Dark Astoria repeatables, and given DM's atrocious ST damage, being told to lean on pool powers just to bring a combo up to par isn't something I wanted to hear. But I do thank you for the time. Don't get me wrong, here... go scrapper, cycle through Rune of Protection, Shadow Meld and MoG, you're probably unkillable in 99% of all events. I do take tough/weave on all my melee-ers. I get it.
-
It's still weak on mitigation. I assume it's still weak regardless of AT. Unless you go ATs with Shadow Meld or take Rune of Protection.
-
Ok character but ST damage farkin sucks. 5:23 best time so far.
-
5:38 pylon time which is farkin sad for a brute BUT all that layered -tohit is gonna make it a safe bet. That's AFTER gettin Musc core, degen core and hybrid core on the build. Dark Melee's ST damage output, and its AoE output, are crap. But the +survival it grants while being crap is pretty damn good.
-
For next mission I went +4/x2. She tore that shit up.
-
I did forget about procing out ToF. Forgot it was an AoE now.
-
Hopped on test with this build, grabbed all accolades, no incarnate powers, hit Ephram up for a mission, set diff to +1/x8, and she's faceplanting often. Nice damage output, at least....
-
Haven't even tested it, haven't even created it. Anything jumping out as just plain wrong here? @Spaghetti Betty calling on you for guidance. Edit: Ugh, it is 8 seconds shy of permahasten. Edit2: Yanked extra hold proc from MG and added to MoG. Lady Dracula - Brute (Dark Melee - Regeneration).mbd

Should I bother with Dark Consumption? Should I say yes to that question and use it as an AoE and slot it as an AoE and consider the extra end as a side effect and not the goal? Obviously Soul Drain is a must, but should I ignore what it buffs and also just slot it as an AoE attack with max recharge enhancement? Second Wind, should I bother? Will I hit max HP when slotting with that in mind + Dull Pain? Obviously taking Tough, but should I slot Weave and use it, or stick a single LotG+Recharge in there as a mule? Seems chasing defense without DDR is a waste of slots. Max slotted Soul Mastery - Gloom and Darkest Night are no brainers but what about Dark Obliteration? Worth taking and 6 slotting for more AoE?
-
Even if you're on a regen using character? I built for regen and HP on my SR characters cuz they don't get hit and every little bit helps over time. And yes, apparently even HP is buffed on brutes on test right now. Got another 200 HP or so to play with there. (If memory is working, it fails a lot these days.) My claws/sr brute was already tough but he's a monster on test right now.

Dark Powersets DPS Videos (Low Levels)
Bill Z Bubba replied to CoeruleumBlue's topic in General Discussion
My biggest problem with Dark Melee, especially on a brute\tank, is that the best attack chain, MG, Gloom, SL, Smite, repeat, was three left handed attacks, and then Smite switched left/right. Or maybe it was even worse and my chain was MG, Gloom, SL, repeat. I can't remember. I should build a dark/regen brute. I say this not having any idea at all how hard it might be to create alternate hand animations for every attack in the game that uses one hand. But still, it was monotonous AF to watch. -
The Trouble with slotting the Critical Strikes ATO…
Bill Z Bubba replied to The Trouble's topic in Scrapper
I have it in followup so that focus and slash ( or spin and shockwave) get the extra crit chances. Glad to see I have it in the right place! Edit: However, looking at it, aoe chain maybe should be changed to fu, sw, spin, repeat from fu, spin, sw, repeat. -
By the sweet, dark, elder gods, thank you! Downloaded that spreadsheet, searched for anythin dark and fear related, and finally that damned high pitched whine from psionic armor, aura of insanity, fear portion is gone! It's one of these 4:

Finally checked it out. Did a fresh copy of my fire/bio sent to test, went and hit a pylon, spammed vulnerability, got 2:50. Logged back into live, repeated the test, 2:54. Should I have noticed something different? Oh, I see, don't click vulnerability for crits. Back to test. Don't click Vulnerability at all: 2:38 Click vulnerability only when circled red: 2:46 Am I doing something wrong here? Based on this (granted VERY tiny sample size,) seems I'm best off by never clicking vulnerability at all.

MiDs continues it's years long downhill slide
Bill Z Bubba replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
Found a way to corrupt my functional Mids' install. I doubleclicked an old format build (.mxd vs new .mdb) and it attempted to launch old Mids' (which I thought I had properly purged to get new Mids' even functional) but that action corrupted new Mids' and now I'm back to being stuck on April's database with the nasty error msg posted earlier when attempting to udpate. Sooo, yea, only open builds from WITHIN Mids' rather than doubleclicking old files. Edit: For gits and shiggles, (Thanks, @Jacke ) I downloaded https://updates.midsreborn.com/full_updates/mids_3.7.15.1%2Bdb_25.11.1232.zip Then I overwrote the contents I had with what was in the zip and now I'm back to DB version 2025.11.1232. Updater now shows no updates available. This also fixed my gaming rig's install. Woot. Also, for those worried about losing builds, make sure they're all saved off to a different location than the program. I'm still using the old location and that never seems to get touched. -
I don't know which dev stated it, nor even if I'm just spreading inaccurate hearsay, but apparently multiple mutually exclusive power pairs in a powerset isn't on the table. Which is a bummer considering that such an option could be used to fix Kheldians for me. But I get it. When I came back after my last break, I noticed the regen rework and asked on my SG's discord, "Is it the general consensus that Reactive Regen is better than Instant Healing?" (The answer was a resounding hell yes.) Point is, I asked. I had to seek out that information. It'll be more confusing the more of these we add in and I generally know what I'm doing. New players diving in with no knowledge of Mids' or City of Data seeing multiple oddities in powersets will be even more lost. On top of that is we don't know whether it's even possible. I have to assume it is since one mutually exclusive pair can be added, why not two, or three? Why can't we have two new mutually exclusive powers in claws for those that think claws having ranged attacks is silly? Where does the line get drawn of when it's appropriate to add or not add mutually exclusive power pairs? All that said, Invulnerable doesn't have any mutually exclusive powers in it right now. They could move forward with the change there, by their own rules. But Super Reflexes on Sentinels would be screwed because they already have PB/MB in place. Electric Armor could be reworked as well. Probably some of the other crashing T9s. I'm sad to see all the work done getting tossed out, especially with the statement added that "At least at this point there are no plans to revisit them in the future." It was good idea and shouldn't be tossed to the side.

Two reasons I can think of: 1: Every melee set comes with a ranged attack. Physics be damned. 2: I seem to recall and old video game, maybe marvel vs capcom or something of the sort, fighting game like mortal combat, Wolvie had ranged attacks in that as well.

Nope. Just tryin to survive. The Kheldian mob usually rips him up.
