  1. Ehhh I don't think there should be any expectation that you need to slot the defense or resistance uniques. Even if you dip into the Set IO pool. The uniques are nice to haves. And definitely not necessary or should be expected that folks have those. Nor should it be expected that you're softcapping defense EVEN if you dip into Set IOs.
  2. right but that's to do the trials. I should have clarified, I mean how many others do you see doing the actual "solo path" content, like Bill was mentioning he does?
  3. For me it depends on the game. if it's Demon Souls I'd be on one part of the axis. if it's something like a simple beat em up Super hero simulator like COH I'm on the other. There are certain games I play to get away from it all and turn my mind off, where play is quick and there are few impediments. And there are games I play where I want to be challenged and made to think strategically. I like that there are different games for the type of "gaming mood" you're in.

  5. It would be cool. I might actually try to build around IOs as I level up, instead of waiting till 50.
  6. yeah true! I was even referring to before bank missions though. When we all traveled through the Hollows on foot, uphill, both ways. 😛 (yes, that's a boomer/dad joke, sue me)
  7. I trust that when the HC devs get to it, they'll know how to implement it. Based on what I've seen and read (especially recently from actual dev posts on another thread from yesterday) they really know what they are doing. I consider inf to also be a reward. Especially post 50.
  8. On the other servers, I pretty much pretend the AH doesn't exist. On one it's literally empty 24/7 since the population can't support it. Luckily they implemented buying IOs in AE with inf and tickets. 😛
  9. Pretty much. There are some . . . interesting changes on the other servers. Also for the folks that say things are easy on HC, there are some difficulty options on one or two servers that are VERY masochistic also. lol
  10. I'm . . . actually quite ashamed to say I've never even thought anyone would want that. I once thought of posting it as a suggestion, and was like "nahhhh" nobody would be interested in that. Just goes to show that even if it's a bad suggestion in your head, you never know until you post it! lol

  12. Some servers other than HC have gone even higher than that . . .with other radical changes, while keeping the base game as is, for those who want the old traditional casual COH feel. The experiences were . . . interesting in terms of difficulty. (and no aggro cap . . . yikes!)
  13. I say look at the last few posts from the devs and leave it at that. Key word here being: volunteers.
  14. In the 30+ years of dealing with gaming communities, IT, etc, I will say you are being broadly, fantastically, overly optimistic.
  15. Interestingly I never felt travel was all that difficult. Even before all the numerous buffs, getting to 14 for a travel power wasn't all that onerous. (and yeah I know some folks found it so).
  16. I've always argued for NEW difficulty options while keeping the base game as is. Best of both worlds. There is no need to touch the base game when you can add to the difficulty options. Other COH servers have already proven that out btw.

  19. The dev time issue is still an issue. We're still dealing with a volunteer team. They can't possibly do everything that everyone in the suggestions forums posts. I'd say a week there are at least 5 good ideas there with 15 which really aren't. Even to get those 5 (posted this week) done in any reasonable amount of time would be a challenge even if thing weren't the way they currently are. (i'm referring to covid here and the affect it has on folks real personal and work lives).
  20. Individual targeted buffs and nerfs should be what they continue (see Blaster changes, TW changes) to do. Wholesale rebalancing of large parts of the game would be pointless.
  21. Hmmm, this is true. I have seen a few teams now choosing to run at base difficulty. Similar to how speed run tfs don't go beyond the base.
  22. I think the issue was this was that they could not create enough incarnate content like Dark Astoria, to keep up with the demand. Hell the had trouble creating Incarnate TFs like Tin/Pex. Content creation isn't easy. So I think the opening of a true solo path by Score/HC (and a few other servers) was inevitable.
