  1. Ah. Yeah I'm of the opinion that support sets are fine as is generally. They DON'T need any major nerfs or buffs. I think there are a FEW that might need some targetted help, but not to the level that some people were saying in this thread. AKA, Support sets in high level play in need of major help. They are not. I say this as someone who has multiple level 50 defenders, controllers, corrupters, dominators, etc. I play support sets at high level more than the non-support sets. MMs I would say is one group that could use some help though.
  2. I don't think much buffs are needed at all actually for support sets. I think they are just fine in most content. A FEW need help like Force Fields or maybe Empahty in higher levels. But that's all I can think of. (Probably some help for MMs too). I was throwing a bone to BitCook (and others position) that SOME support sets need help.
  3. Seeing as how some of the other servers have had MULTIPLE character wipes or instances of characters not being playable, due to some errant problem introduced by some "shiney" they deployed with not enough testing, in the time that HC has been up and consistent with our characters. . . yeah I'll stick with HC's quality over the other servers flashiness anytime of the day.
  4. With all that said I would not mind if they did do a few buffs to some support sets that need it. However, there are some support sets that clearly don't need it. And do just fine.
  5. Yeah if one of them is a debuffer that can debuff things into the floor and another a damage dealer, I'm not seeing an issue. And again you're not going to see that in iTrials or most tfs. Radio missions are trash missions so i'm not so worried about those.
  6. True. But I'm fine with folks being altrustic and bringing them along. I see no issue with that. Could be their buddy, could be the leader just being nice. Again we're talking about force multiplication where it counts, like on tfs, itrials. That's where support classes shine. And that's where you appreciate what the support classes bring to the table. A radio mission . . . couldn't care less. It's a trash mission just for fun.
  7. Yeah that's literally farming. In fact some teams that bring along lowbies will tell them from the start that they expect them to participate.
  8. Yeah that's not what doorsitting means in farms. Doorsitting in a farm has a distinct definition. What you described isn't it. Anyone who actually farms with any regularity knows this. It's literally sitting at the door doing nothing while the farmer or farming team clears the map. It's NOT bringing along lowbies on a radio mission. And farmers will literally announce in LFG: Farm forming looking for doorsitters, or Farm forming for lowbies. PST if you are looking for a boost. EDIT2: A little boost to control and support is fine. Though again I think Doms, Defenders, Controllers, Corrupters, do just fine while using their secondary and primary on fast moving teams. They are always welcome on TFs, especially where there are hard targets like AVs. Fast moving trash missions I couldn't care less about. It's a radio mission, there are no stakes there unlike a TF which is a time commitment that you don't want to fail.
  9. Where's the "It was me Dio!!!" meme when you need it?
  10. Cause they'd probably be as expensive as Luck Charms were on Live. A few marketer folks on here will get the joke. LOL
  11. Wait . . . is anyone actually farming with regularity with TW? That would seem . . . extremely painful to me. lol
  12. The acquisition rate on live was cancer. The market prices compared to HC were ridic in hindsight. Folks who complain about having to play the market here, should have felt how long it took on live. The acquisition of IOs and relative ease of the market is one thing I think they got right. IOs can make you stupidly powerful. But that's not an HC change. We were well towards that on live. But as you alluded to I can't see a massive IO rebalance anytime soon. Well . . . if you think soon is 2060 😛
  13. Meh, at that point I would just say the set is not for me. But that would be fine for those who would enjoy that.
  14. Ehhh no really. Other games and media have done GIANT weapons and it does take going out to get you dry cleaning, fixing your car, and coming back home before the next swing is done. (:p joking ofcourse).
  15. Yeah no. Well unless the thematically appropriate feel is slow as molasses. Momentum is just terrible. There are better mechanics out there that can be used.
  16. Apparently some folks think there is something wrong with this play style. That the teams should just move from group to group as one. all the time. I find that boring.
  17. LMAO! Captures what it's like to play TW perfectly! You forgot go out and get coffee though. 😛
  18. The main change to easier acquisition of IOs were the seeding of the market, enhancement converters. (Though I think converts came at the end of live, so folks didn't really get to take full advantage of them.) Enhancement converters make it stupidly easy to make inf. Also the costs on merit vendors were reduced I believe.
  19. We're IOs waaay before the blaster changes though? And devs still datamind that they they underperformed? My memory may be off on that. Some others who remember can chime in. It's been a while.
  20. Yeah no. I'm always going for recharge over + damage. Recharge helps EVERYTHING. on a build. I'd bet if you took a poll most would find +Recharge more valuable than + damage.
  21. Doms are godly. Some of them can farm better than Fire Farmers. And we all know what IOs lead to for those who focus on recharge for doms. lol Kheldians can be pretty good, but they do need some help in some areas. IOs and Incarnates have helped some holes for them. A few targetted buffs would help them more.
  22. At lower levels it's actually one of the most painful sets to level. And the momentum mechanic is absolute TRASH. Glad it's getting updated soon. EDIT: To be clear I couldn't care less how much damage TW does, mine is shelved as playing her feels like I'm moving in molasses, especially after playing faster weapon-based sets.
  23. That's only telling part of the story. But others can dispute that, I'm leaving that alone for now. I'd trust the devs over the players on the forums. This thread alone shows there is no consensus on where the difficulty of the game should be. When I start seeing things on the forums like "debuffers are less wanted/powerful nowadays" is when I start to not take the opinions of the forums in general as a balance point. Forum feedback should be read and listened to . . . but only to a point.
  24. Yeah I'm not getting the sentiment at all that support sets are less wanted on HC.
  25. Nerfs and buffs should always be on the table. But they should be targetted and from a balance perspective based on what the devs see. Not some one's "feeling" of their individual powerset not being needed as much on teams today as back in the so-called "old days".
