  1. yep that’s the rub. A majority of this playerbase don’t want the game harder. If they did, you would not see for example, most team leaders waiting till they got 8 players before heading into a mission. lol A majority of COH players want the game to be as easy as possible a majority of the time. the other evidence of this already stated early is most TFs /SFs staying on the lowest difficulty so that they can clear it as fast as possible. Keep in mind that a large portion of this play base for COH aren’t kids anymore. We have jobs, kids, etc. So spending hours banging your head against difficult challenges isn’t something wanted. “Ain’t nobody got time for that!” There are other games for that when the mood strikes.
  2. And I and a majority of those who play this game are fine with that. If others want challenge they can unslot their IOs and form teams of like minded folks who want to run at +4 / x8 all the time and fight nothing but AVs all the time. The rest of us will be here enjoying COH as we always have.
  3. Eh, I don't play low end enough these days to care about SB. With that said when I do, I think ID, transfusion, and transference (at the level ranges where available to the Kin, depending if primary or secondary) are more useful IMO.
  4. The second you nerf FS, overall, kinetics is waaaaaaay less useful in my opinion, even if you buffed IR an Repel. Repel is actually pretty good on kinetics farming builds. (Gives some bit of safety from my experience). EDIT: Honestly I don't think Kinetics needs any changes in general, but I can see making it slightly different for MMs.
  5. No to the suggestion for the reasons already given. This would screw up how and many others play the game.
  6. Yeah we keep being told the game is balanced around SOs. I have significantly agree. the advice shouldn't be "slot it to the gills" with IOs to make it . . . decent. That's a balance problem on it's face. lol
  7. Honestly anything that doesn't feel fun to play will be getting mothballed. I don't have the patience anymore to deal with the ridiculousness of the respec system/screen. (IMO one of the worst parts of City of Heroes -- not HC fault, it's always been that way. Champions Online improved this a bit.). I'll just play anything else (Set or AT as needed). I'm used to it with HC changes by now. lol
  8. I'd appreciate if they FINALLY focus on the work of improving Brutes as you said. I disagree that they need to do anything else with Tankers for now (for now being in the next year or two). Enough is enough, let's please focus on making Brutes better as you and others allude to. Continuing to futz around with Tankers is just ignoring the large (FURIOUS 😝) elephant in the room. lol
  9. Oh knowing the current devs, I can EASILY see them insisting on some tradeoffs So with that assumption, I think Tar Patch should be left alone. Shoo. Look away devs! lol
  10. very very good points. Agreed with the proposed boundaries. 😊
  11. was the theme song to this playing? 😂
  12. Thank you!!!!!!!!! 🙏
  13. Also I think some folks are more seriously considering Linux as other posters said due to the absolute trashfest nonsense known as Windows Recall, that MS is sticking to trying to force down everyone’s throat. (Yes I know it’s opt-in, but how long do we think THAT will last).
  14. No thanks. I like this mm pet the way it currently is. This sounds like it would be better for a new separate set.
  15. I think this would be a nice QOL request they could fulfill. Would make moving things around to prepare for endgame or hard mode activities slightly easier. I would be fine with it having or cost or even zero cost. Either way, good suggestion. 😊 EDIT: With that said I am not sure how difficult this would be to fulfill. Seeing as how we really have not gotten anything new in the incarnate system in well . . . I think ever . . . Makes me think making large changes to it is not easy.
  16. And all this makes me glad we have COH. Where I can take breaks from the mental stack craziness of games like FFXIV and come here and relax. As epic as FF14 can get at times (minus the trash story of the latest expansion) I still much prefer the more open and relaxing nature of COH. So much so that I avoid the trials gear grind of 14 and simply buy my gear after farming the necessary Gil (currency in FF universe), of its auction house equivalent. As to the discussion on Jack and this game, all I’ll say is that his next game (Champions) went free to play eventually and is currently a hollowed out husk in maintenance mode that hasn’t gotten any serious story or expansion content in years. And the first year of its existence was pretty much even more nerf heavy than what was experienced in COH. Take from that history lesson what you will. I’m glad Positron, War Witch, Backalley Brawler and the rest of the crew who followed Jack, ended up being more interested in making an actually fun game.
  17. I would be fine with anything that makes it easier to use as long as the Devs didn't bring any type of reduction with that. If they feel it needs to be made weaker in anyway, then no thanks to this suggestion. The devs have said they see getting mezzed from time to time as part of the gameplay. So I'm not sure they would be willing to make preventing that easier.
  18. Hmm the last few points back and forth seem like this would be difficult to implement. I would argue that if they ever do develop such a power for MMs (I’m neither for or against) I would like the option to STILL have the ability to directly upgrade my pets. I would be highly annoyed if that was fully taken out of my control. Regardless the people the OP would have to convince are the devs, who have said they expect MMs to behave and work as an AT in a certain way.
  19. The change is great and has made playing certain sets more fun. It’s one of the best changes they did.
  20. Define fun. And who’s definition of fun should developers go with if every single player (or even every other player) has a different definition?
  21. I think the points everyone has raised about moderation are great, so not going to rehash them. My only points 1. Disagreeing with a suggestion should not result in moderation as long as you are not insulting the person. People need to learn that this is an open forum not a place to monologue. If you don’t want any feedback (negative it positive) then simply PM what you want to suggest to a dev or mod. Some folks go from 0 to 100 just cause someone says “I don’t like your idea”. Hell I’ve seen some folks get angry even when you say “I like your idea, but how about adjusting it this way” while missing the point that the poster actually LIKED your idea. LOL 2. You can say an idea is not great with out calling it stupid. There is a way to do this easily. Were all adults. 3. Outright insulting anyone (poster dev or mod) should not surprise anyone if it results in mod action against them. Folks posting here are intelligent enough to know that. 4. If a person has been warned repeatedly about their actions, stop giving them a warning and just go straight to the ban hammer. Even a 1 day ban may allow them to cool off and rethink their actions. (Many folks may not like this last one but I think it’s needed for Mod and forum sanity at this point.) 5. If a thread is started for sole purpose of antagonizing folks or “othering” folks, then I see no reason why any mod should allow that to go for any extended period of time. Just lock it and move on. my 2 cents.
  22. This is a perfect summation of all these discussions.
  23. With that said there are a ton of things HC has done that I outright think were bad decisions: The Council Revamp Some of the changes having to do with the EMPs and conversions A very few specific changes to powersets Adding yet another currency system in a games nearing bloat on them Special costumes locked behind a high cost. (Related to the previous new currency). The change to how many folks are allowed in the Hive/Hamidon encounter I could go on. Does that mean I think they are sins? No. They are just changes I disagree with. I don’t expect them to always do things I like. I don’t expect them to even implement 1% of whatever is suggested in Suggestions and Feedback forum. Calling something or anything they do, that I don’t like a Sin seems a little overdramatic to me. Seems toxicly negative to me. And folks should be able to give feedback all they want. Want you don’t have is the right to expect folks on a public (or private for beta) forum to not tell you why they think you’re wrong. With all of that said I still prefer HC’s slow, methodical approach that focuses on proper testing and not just breaking stuff for shots and giggles, to COH over some other servers by a mile. EDIT: changes for clarity and typos
