  1. This would raise the question of "shouldn't this name have been caught by the filter?" We do still have a filter right? I know there's all sorts of ways to try and get around it like the trick of using a numeral 1 for an L, etc. and the filter can't know them all...
  2. This is why I loved my stalker back in the day. 😃
  3. Ha! I've had a few go this badly, but not terribly often. I almost always PUG as I don't have an SG or a group of repeating/returning friends in-game (*sniff*), and I generally have much better luck than this. I did do a Katie Hannon with you a month or two ago, also a PUG, that went just fine, so it's not all sour grapes and out of control ninjas!
  4. No idea. I don't hoard names nor feel overly protective of them, until they're mine; then I'd like to keep it of course. But I have no idea what my next name is going to be until the urge to make a new toon coalesces into the idea for the build.
  5. As with anything else in the game: if you put out the call, they will come. Good luck!
  6. @Spaghetti Betty I'm currently working on a creature of the night and finding some ideas from your Raven's Land there, but what are those red things on the shoulders/skin? I'm guessing one of those tattoo options?
  7. I don't mind playing support, and like to make changes, so I'd say a not-stalker, just to keep things fresh.
  8. I thought that was always pretty variable, if not a bit rare? I once had a whole AE arc planned out to explain why some Banished Pantheon would be named "Mac" and working in a floor show, but then AE broke and I don't really do those much any more, too frustrating.
  9. I believe Energy Aura has a good rep on Stalkers. I have one with it and he did play pretty well, so you'd be off to a good start with that choice I think.
  10. Funnily enough I just did that one the other day, but not my Bamf-tatstic stalker. I was playing an Ice Control/Savage Melee Dom that had some BAMF, but ultimately spent her time defending the core by dropping Ice Slick etc. around it. Being such a catwalk-centric mission though, you're right, that would be great for a serious BAMF toon. I keep pulling mine out for some fun - might even consider him my main, at least for now? - so I'll have to see if I can't find the time to get him on one of those too.
  11. I am well aware. But having to assemble a team/league and then zone is for some reason much more difficult and time consuming that just broadcasting "WL is at [coordinates]!" One of the first days of the winter event (as I;m not sure exactly when it began???), I started up a team to do it and it took a solid ten minutes or something. Not at all the same time investment of scouting for the next GM for a mere six reward merits. Come to think of it, it also takes longer to beat down the group of snowmen in the WL instanced map than it does to pull down a GM in a city zone.
  12. I'm still trying to parse "red flags" - like what, he expected to wake up in a tub of ice water to find all his purple slots stolen or something????
  13. The other day I joined a ... league I think, not just a team, that was trauling through Atlas looking for presents so we could spawn Winter Lord. I joined them after there was already like ten folk signed up, and it still took like a good ten minutes of criss-crossing the city and playing whack-a-mole with the glowies; we were so efficient that I don't think I even got to see a present for the last few minutes, heh. But then it took awhile, the league dropped most of its members... time went by... now Winter Lord... It felt awfully random is what I'm saying, and rare. I almost wish he was like the GMs from ToT, the second he's defeated, he spawns elsewhere. That GM farming is fun!
  14. ... Every one of my toons needs to go take an hour-long shower now...
  15. This. The game wasn't originally designed to give you everything you wanted, it was designed to make you feel you needed to keep working towards what you wanted - "that means you'll maintain your subscription." Always striving, rarely achieving. HC has come along and thrown open the parts store for us in so many ways, and isn't charging us a nickel to take away enough high-end parts to build a monstrously OP fighter jet if we feel the yen. Back on Liv,e I don't think I have one single IOed-out toon (usually they were frankenslotted with drops and SOs, at best). I can have any number of them now.
  16. Overall I agree that we have lots of Christmas related stuff. I propose we pump them all up a little so that people will actually do them a bit more than just a one-badge-speedrun-and-done. Create some hard mode for them! Most of the missions are all pretty simple and short, so upgrading them for the hard-mode crowd shouldn't be too difficult. Drop an Aether Particle or four at the end of each, each time a toon does it for the first time, like Market Crash (hell, dropping a purple at the end of them would be quite in the spirit of giving, right?).
  17. Wow... that must have been something to see.
  18. That seems like a awfully complex way to just give money to your friends, it'd be fast er to just do it. I'm a big fan of Hanlon's Razor in most situations 😃 Hanlon's razor: never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
  19. Yeah, I've won a couple and lost some where I just think "... the hell???" I have seen a few with costumes in them that seriously blew me away too. At this point I've learned to not like try to get into such a contest because that gets me geared up about doing well, and there's nothing worse than walking home without a second glance after that*. I just hop by one if I happen to be in Atlas and hear the announcement, which fortunately isn't often as sooner or later I'm bound to explode after losing another one to (I kid you not) another "undead Elvis-looking guy" or something. *Worst example: big Halloween contest, had set categories for "spookiest," "most beautiful," "most frightening," and another one like that, buuuuut... I'd gone in what was arguably a sort of kitsch or perhaps humor-category costume (that had won other contests!), so I was shut out completely. I wasn't the only one there to feel this way although I didn't bother speaking up like they did. And yes I still think about this because it still annoys!!
  20. They could have posted an announcement weeks ago, "it all goes live on Dec XXth".
  21. I have a Martial that was, I think Psy too? He was OK, but never really felt like he was "singing" to me. For some reason I've run a lot of Sav toons lately, so I've got a pretty good feel for it and obviously I wouldn't be playing it if I didn't care for it, so I'd say go that way, of the two. The Savage Leap combat TP power is indeed a lot of fun, and being a Dom with, presumably, perma-Dom, you get to use it an awful lot.
  22. I'm fighting with MIDS atm to update, so it won't open this build, oh well. Trying to do as little as possible else other than BAMFing about is admittedly a stunt build. I've just reworked the Dom build mentioned above and while it doesn't bamf as much, it does become a much more in your face play style than I might have gone for with a DOM - I'm generally using the BAMFs to show up in a group's face and then confuse with with Artic Air, an Ice Slick, some AoE, it's still fun to not have to run to every target. Racing your Ball Lightning does sound like fun, and you can boast "I'm faster than lighting!"
  23. I didn't see it at first. What I saw was snow in Atlas. I didn't see any presents at the time either. Listen y'all, I know we like aurguing on the forums and lots of people to jump on "were was thew announcement?" posts, but a simple even-just two sentence forum post "it's open!", is that really such a ridiculous ask?
  24. Can't believe this name was available, and it works on a couple of levels, Candice Cain
  25. Yeah, I tend to be a kind of haphazard player (don't tell anyone!) but I've rarely eaten carpet on this guy; I even tanked a few times and in SBB. Even though the AoEs aren't even like monster numbers, they sure are damn flashy numbers to pull out! I generally avoid purples and super-overcharged-IOs at +5 and all that, so the build might be given more weight with such. I am curious how yours solos, as I generally PUG.
