  1. I recall a story that I heard back in the live days: someone found a similar way to get really tall, like the entire character model, not just the parts, and they were standing around playing dumb "I dunno man, it just happened or something!" They got banned.
  2. I have my Savage/Shield stalker who took the jump attack powers in both, Spring Attack and Combat TP just for something to do when the others are on cool down, so he can get closer to hit someone. I was getting tired of having to run down various shifting targets, so why not just BAMPF over to where they are? I also as a matter of course mostly avoid taking Boxing/Tough/Weave as I hate toggles I can't afford to run at first and completely wasting a power slot. Cookie cutter builds are just dull.
  3. Yeah, it's one of those things that's gotten poisoned by the online hate crowd. I still hold open doors as well, for anyone.
  4. Have seen the term thrown around in the pejorative sense that I quoted, often, I'm sticking with the idea it's been kind of corrupted by the reactionary crowd. You can make up your mind differently of course.
  5. From the Wikipedia page for it: "White knight" is also used as derogatory slang, often by men's rights activists, to refer to men who are trying to curry the favor of women by protecting them, alongside other, similar terms, such as "simp" or "whipped".[4] The usage of the term implies that men, when doing nice things for women, are motivated only by sexual desires.[5] Let's not to to get too 4chan-y in here, plz and thang-que
  6. This is why in the real world the rich do what they can to control the government, so they can set such into statute and common law as much as possible. But that's just redside commie talk, heh heh
  7. I have no idea, because of the fractured way we get exposed to various parts of the lore, and a general disinterest, I barely know a thing about any of it. I keep stumbling across tidbits on the wiki and going "oooh, now that one thing makes sense!"
  8. No one knows what's up with Lord Recluse these days, he's... reclusive. 🙂
  9. They really can be a good mix of ranged and melee, but in my semi-not-so-limited experience with them, it depends on the set - some get more scrappy than others, which can be a bit more blastery or perhaps controllery in turn. You of course can put your thumb on that scale somewhat by power choices and slotting. I really like Doms and would encourage you to look into them more, they're possibly my top ATs because I like being able to do a bit of everything.
  10. I just did that one TF... of stuff... in the Shard... the last time I played last week. You know, that one where you fight a lot of Nem in some caves, then some Shard monsters, then you're somewhere like Founders Falls, then back to fifteen more cave maps or whatever? And everyone gets to use their TT all the time? It has a LOT of fat to cut and needs a LOT of interest to be added, whatever it was called. And yeah, other than giving out a free jetpack power whenever you zone, Shard needs something to help make it all more navigable. And to make it feel like it's worth being in in the first place. (I mean, there's lots of zones that feel that feel boring to bother with too, like all those ruined city maps like Boomtown, etc.)
  11. Spikes/lightning bolts/lion fish spines, yeah. I think they're pretty silly, like how would you sit down wearing those? Get through smaller doorways? But they do look cool and I have used them on occasion.
  12. There is a Fir Bolg, but apparently you can only get it during Halloween. I have it on a tanker I made ages ago who was explicitly said to be an altered Fir Bolg, so that worked out for me.
  13. Not so much the text but the website. Auto-play ads are enough to keep me away but there's other issues. I used to edit a fan-made site there, and wouldn't now. Editing stuff there reminded me of the AE, for one thing, ha ha. Anyway, off topic.
  14. Ugh, a Fandom wiki. Here's ours, which even includes a link to the Way Back Machine original page 😃 https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Paragon_City_History
  15. I still get that from playing some of the strike force missions that are off the beaten path, so you're not alone in this just because you're a new player (there's a couple of them I just never play because of this). The best advice I can give it to tell the team leader that you're new, and if they still speed ahead and ignore you, they're trash and you can move on. 😃 Most teams and players are better than that. If you ask, some will even discuss the strategy with you, like "now we have to clear this area right in front of city hall before we go in so we don't get zerg-rushed by ambushes," etc.
  16. That sort of egregious use of Fold Space without warning bothers me too, usually because it means I just wasted an AoE but I fortunately hardly ever see it. I just exit the PUG after the current map is done. This is also where I will extol the fun of (my personal build philosophy) BAMF Melee over Fold Space yet again, which relies on as many "jump attack" powers like Spring Attack, Shield Charge etc. that you can get. It's far more fun to jump into someone's face rather than make them jump into yours.
  17. Seen this too, and can freely bitch about it as well, even with love: I signed up for an ITF recently, and the last guy chosen didn't know how to find Cim, so I went out and led him by the nose (gently!) over to Dark Astoria for the badge, to Steel and the Midnighter's Club, then into Cim. Only to find out he wasn't high enough level to join the ITF. D'oh! But not one was mad about it, we just explained it and he left and we went with seven. I do wish all the new players the best of luck!
  18. I'm neither here nor there on zone events like this. I kind of like the Croatoa ones because I just like the zone, but eh. I mean, we're lucky to say we're bored with playing some of the content here, to be fair. 😃
  19. I think this means they need to shorten the timing between them.
  20. My scrapper with a tiger's head was stuck in some kind of possibly Keldian mode? during an event in Steel today. The head had disappeared leaving a green head but the tiger ruff and (improbably) teeth alone still remained hovering in front of his face, and it said I couldn't change costume until I reverted into my human form. I should have taken a screenshot. But he's fine now. I assumed that was working as intended for the yuks.
  21. I so want to join a team with you so I can run my Pink Bampfer stalker now, and like I guess agro big crowds too early or something??? Still work-shopping it.
