Path Aura disappears when entering customizing appearanceHerotu replied to Rumbleweed's topic in Bug Reports It seems that the Path aura is a sub-choice of the regular aura. If you change the regular aura, the path aura resets. Is that what you mean?

Melee + no defences = blapper style.
-
Could this be described as the blapperiest dom?

[edit] I just checked one of my alts and that doesn't have this problem. ... but I checked my main again and it DOES. In one of the Homecoming patches, a mistake was made on the Info panel. The one where you right click someone to look at their badges. If I look on the info panel at badges, it looks fine, but it's NOT. When I mouse over any badge on the info panel, the badge enlarges and the name is supposed to be displayed below it. BUT somewhere along the line, the name has been put BEHIND the badge, so you can't read it very easily.

I like how the top number 255 like bytes are how power is stored. Funny! 😄
-
Yep yep, I headed this one off at the pass - I covered all of it in the original post. It's also why I think it would be interesting to take a weakness some way to make yourself super-strong in another - this way there's a special reason to do it. BUT what I'm trying to eke out of the community is a WAY to manifest the weakness. I don't want it to just be a weakness to a damage type or special NPC, those don't see satisfying. (are you thinking Nemesis System?).
-
Well how about this as a notion? The powers are arranged into a circle/wheel or whatever, and each power has an opposite. It's easy for some, not so easy for others. To do this it may be necessary to lump several into groups (like assault rifle might go into a group with dual pistols etc)... anyway, the notion is that you've got these opposites... here's the trick... You're vulnerable to one power/group, but you are strong against your opposite. This way you can have weakness but also strength. I am not sure I like this solution, but it's in it's formative stage - I mean it's obviously copied off a zillion prior concepts such as Fire/Ice elemental opposites and, Magic the Gathering.

Let's not be defeatist! Computers are getting smarter, let's give them some credit!
-
This has been brought up elsewhere, but I can't find it and wanted to see if there are fresh perspectives on the concept. I know there are people out there who believe this should be a purely roleplay option, but then we could all be sitting at a desk pretending to play a video game. My point being that it's perfectly feasible to imagine anything, but realising it means that others (computer/humans) can react to it. Am I jumping ahead? I'm jumping ahead. The original notion is that players choose/create an OPTIOINAL (you don't have to have any weaknesses) weakness for their character. This seems shit when the computer just dumps some enemy on the map that can whack you - like Nemesis Galaxies vs Kheldians (warshade/peacebringer). So how can weaknesses be realised in a meaningful way that doesn't seem like you're being trumped? Let's brainstorm!

As long as it's not yellow! Yellow is ILIWAPCCT's weakness!

Well here's a visualisation for us... We're watching Batman and his sidekick fight this week's Mastermind's minions - be it Penguin, Riddler or Joker, but WHAT IS THE MASTERMIND doing at this time? He's using his secondary power set. But it's not atomic, it's not time, it's not darkness. It's pushing over boxes, tossing grenades. It's normal, simple stuff. That's all I ask for... just a little bit of the everyday, humdrum caper.

Thank you very much for this post, it is reassuring. I want to just say that the things that seem 200IQ are specifically Blapper-esque builds. People seem to be making builds and playing in very personal styles. Example: Blasters imho are all about shooting stuff from range, but other players do all manner of support, stealth and even melee damage with them - so that's all mysterious stuff - and that's just the most simple archetype! - I can only imagine how you're supposed to play the various weird controllery/dominatory builds with their incredibly diverse powersets. And that's why I'm hesitant to copy other people's builds. Here are a couple of other reasons: They don't explain why they're using non-Superior purple IOs instead of superior ones - I checked and there's no rule of five reason to do so. They're doing what you state above - dumping Hover into the build at level 49 or something - it's really weird - I'm supposed to trust this build? Am I supposed to replace Hover and move it to earlier in the build? I really DO enjoy the game and I love the positive and wonderful community of great enthusiastic players. Many hearts to all fo you! In summary my situation is this: I've played a lot... enough to know that although I know a lot, I know nothing!

There's nothing cool about breaking someone's arm or beating up good people or being mean to the vulnerable.

Yes, this levelling thing is really awkward for me. I like making costumes and I have a bunch of them that I have no characters for because the whole levelling / building / Mids process makes me ANXIOUS. I have a bunch of characters that I really got bored with the playstyles/powersets I spend more time in character creator than in the game and THAT MAKES ME SAD! I want to play with other people. Also, I find your assessment of levelling to be very much what I experienced, too. I want to level up so that I can access interesting powers, but I don't want to outlevel the "natural" level of content of my level range - coming back via ouroboros is a weird and usually a very lonely process. ... and I don't want to be weak when I exemp down, so I open up mids then realise that I haven't a clue what is good and what is bad - look - you can put procs in powers but you miss out on the set bonuses, what's best? What's not? Am I going to be a gimp? Am I the weak link on the team? It's mind-bendingly frustrating. All this complaining comes down to these facts; 1. I want the game to be a challenge at my level and not a speed-levelling exercise. 2. I want to access higher level powers because they do awesome things! e.g. AoE! 3. I want to be AND feel powerful. 4. I want to be viable when exemping - it's no good to just be useful in itrials. 5. I want powersets that work well together, but it seems there are secret tricks to making (particularly support) builds work and I am not privy to them. 6. Mids is a massive blocker. I hate having to try to use this. Even if I know what I'm doing, I can see people putting builds together that are 200IQ stuff - I feel inadequate.
-
For me, it's more like what combinations feel crappy than what's good. There are heaps of crappy-feeling stuff. IMHO Generally Controllers feel worst/bad/boring especially solo. Sorry Controllers. BUT on the upside, nearly everything else feels good!
-
It's just a simple fact that no heroes wear shorts.

	1. clipping ;/ 4. I'd like asymmetrical shoulders, then we can pack full arms of one style of gear (I am going to stick my neck out and suggest that they're already working on it, fingers crossed!). I think asymmetrical costume PATTERNS are not going to happen, there don't seem to be any in the game - it's as if the patterns are just mirrored down the centre line of the body - were they THAT desperate to save a few Megabytes? Maybe. Chest Details are another story, though! 5. I'd really like to see a Cthulu mask/head, but I'd never use it so... I shouldn't suggest it, lol! Who doesn't LOVE tentacles.. omg the term "love tentacles" is going to get picked up by google search....

Yes, that's the idea... imagine a character that tosses oldschool cartoon bombs! YEAH BABY YEAH!

If the character has a concept, what is the concept? Alternatively, what are the power sets? What is the character name? Are there any existing colours that you like to theme the character around, what are they? For my characters I like the idea that they begin their journey with just regular street clothes, and over time they get a costume (you know, like in all those spider-man origin story movies). Then their next costumes become more body armoury because tech upgrades or sleek and leathery/rubbery like batman because professionalism. ... but I tend to just use the regular costume one all the time because I like it better. BUT if you go Rogue, you can make a costume for that - this is traditional!

Or have generic day job "toon"-characters that get replaced by the player's alts that are doing that location's dayjob. Too much? It would be funny to see my alt working at City Hall or Wentworth's. Too much. Argh, off-topic sorry.,
-
They'll never meet because they're all busy doing their day jobs. Like real life!

Just giving this a nudge, I need MOAR good combos!

Powers that would need to change if Hasten gets nerfedHerotu replied to Zepp's topic in Suggestions & Feedback ... ... ... /shrug Sorry.
-
There are two questions here; Do you make lots of characters with the exact same powersets/builds? And.. Do you make lots of characters with the same look?

Powers that would need to change if Hasten gets nerfedHerotu replied to Zepp's topic in Suggestions & Feedback Now you're just being facecio.. facetio.. facesio.. funny.
