crafting Craft & Convert: Detailed Step-by-Step Guide
AboveTheChemist replied to Shinobu's topic in Guides
This has been the most difficult lesson for me to learn in the month or so I've been doing this (inspired by your 'Zero to 100 million' thread). There is an art to setting the price just right that I have yet to master. But, I am getting better. This guide does reassure me, though, that the way I have gone about playing the market since being inspired by yours and others' market guides has more or less been the right path. -
The ones I have gone for so far that have been mentioned are the Revive Ally power and the Base Teleporter power. Once I get those and need a new spot to log, I get the Commuter and Dimensional Explorer badges to get the Traveler's Jet Pack. I know there is a cheap jet pack from P2W, and some missions award temporary jet packs, but I like having one that is free and refillable for the rare times I need it. I need to look into the Wentworth's teleporter, though. Another one I tried was the Chronologist power from logging in Ouroboros. It gives a chance for (or maybe guarantees) a recipe upon mission completion, and I combine that with the badge that grants access to the safeguard/mayhem missions. I can complete a safeguard in about 2 minutes so I can knock out 5-6 safeguards before the benefit expires. I haven't done too much testing but it seems like I got a few recipes that way.

True, I did get some nice recipe drops. I don't really care about the badge though, especially not enough to run this another 40 times. I may do another 90 minute session on my more stealthy and flight-capable gravity controller and see if it doesn't go a little more smoothly. She's only 38 so I am sure the exp would be worth it, plus the recipe and inspiration drops.

Farming Incarnate Salvage - 1 salvage roll every 15 minutes!
AboveTheChemist replied to Oklahoman's topic in Guides
I've run this 3 times now on an Ice/Empathy controller, and usually finish right around 20 minutes with just a stealth IO for stealth and without trying overly hard to speed run it. Plus I haven't quite memorized every map just yet. I failed at saving them both the first time, but the other two times I have been able to save them no problem. Pre-buffing my pet is the key I think. I also just peacefully negotiate with Hua to save a little time having to fight him. -
Homecoming Incarnate Guide a.k.a Incarnates made easy
AboveTheChemist replied to Vea's topic in Guides
Just to follow up on my post immediately above, I created my T4 alpha (Nerve Core Paragon) last night. I had 4 Notice of the Wells (from WST), 4 Ancient Nictus Fragment (from ITF), and a Gr'ai Matter (converted from Vanguard Merits) on hand, plus about 130 shards. I used 108 shards to create the rest of the incarnate components I needed, and spent exactly zero influence. -
Interesting reading, I read it cover to cover then read it again. I never tried farming before a few weeks ago, when I made a spines/fire brute just to check it out. I enjoyed it far more than I expected but my one concern was not being able to play him outside of AE fire farms. I've never played a scrapper but this guide has inspired me to look into a TW/Bio scrapper as a more multi-purpose farmer. Thanks!

After not having much luck with just a stealth IO, I made the Grant Invisibility temp power at my SG base and was able to do it pretty easily. I did get aggro now and again if I mistimed a jump, but in most cases I could outrun it. A couple of times I aggroed the mobs near the hostage and my only option was to die, but I made sure to die back behind the hostage so that once the mobs reset I could use a Bounce Back (which I could craft from all the T2 END inspirations from clicking the obelisks) and a break free and then kill the two guys guarding the hostage. Once I got the hang of it my completion times varied from 5:30 to 6:00. I am not a hardcore badge collector so I only did it until my Grant Invis wore off. I expected it to wear off after an hour but it lasted 90 minutes, which was time to do about 10 runs and get me the "10 times" badge. I took several long breaks in between several runs so I am sure if I did it again and pushed it I could probably get in about 15 runs in that 90 minute span.

I stopped by there after an ITF last night and got it, although I never actually laid eyes on the marker itself (which is something I always try to do). I am going to stop by again when I am not super sleepy and see if I can spot the marker itself and maybe get some coordinates. Slightly off topic, but is that spot the "Roman wall"? I've seen folks mention grinding at the Roman wall and can only assume that is the spot they mean.

I came to post that I confirmed that very fact last night in my base.

Is it even possible to have that many storage racks in a base? When I built mine a couple of weeks ago I think it stopped me at about 18 storage units (which included salvage and enhancement storage). It might have been fewer than that, I don't recall exactly. In the meantime I have pared way back because that was way more storage than I needed but I thought there was a hard limit on the number. Or maybe that was just a per-room limit. I made some crude signage for mine using some kind of small wooden fence item with letters attached. I've since ditched that and just put the letters high up on the wall behind the racks, but I remember searching for a while for things that would make suitable signs and not finding a whole lot. I'm sure there is something in there for those that want to get really creative, though.

I was also looking for this badge, in Leonardo's check list of all current badges it's listed as an exploration badge for Cimerora, but I can't find it, I'm wondering if it's listed incorrectly on the checklist as there is a vet badge of the same name. According to Blondeshell's updated maps it is at the northern end of the bridge in Cimerora at the entrance to the fortress, but I have not personally collected it.

They can go into custom windows too, no? I figured they would be circular/rounded but wasn't sure if using the image overrode that setting. Thanks for the help though!

Is it possible to post a screenshot of what the macro buttons look like? Are they square like the inspiration or rounded?

What a fantastic guide! I too spent an inordinate amount of time trying to alphabetize the zone names. That may or may not have included destroying and remaking my portal setup about three or four times. For anyone trying to optimize their portal setup, I think every available zone beacon can be accessed using four portals. Two portals connected to hero zones (ten beacons each), one portal connected to villain zones (seven beacons if memory serves), and one catch-all portal connected to co-op zones, echo zones, Praetoria, and anything else (nine beacons if memory serves). One oddity I noticed when setting up my portals is that if I placed one portal and its corresponding beacons before placing the next portal and its beacons, everything went smoothly. One time I placed all four portals first and then starting placing beacons, and things went haywire. The beacons for the first portal I placed connected fine, but none of the beacons for the other three portals would connect. Nothing I tried would make them connect so I scrapped it and remade them one at a time and it was fine.

Homecoming Incarnate Guide a.k.a Incarnates made easy
AboveTheChemist replied to Vea's topic in Guides
You will also need a whole lot of influence. Budget carefully. I did some checking this weekend to see how much influence I would need to craft my alpha up to T4 (using the shard route as mentioned in previous posts). It looked like the only step that required influence was the T3 step for crafting Notice of the Well, and I don't need to craft that since I am getting NoTW from the weekly targets. I did not see an influence cost associated with crafting the T1, T2, or T4 slots (including crafting the components required for each). I was looking at the Incarnate Abilities UI in-game. Am I missing something? -
I ran across the same thing this weekend. I've also noticed when taking enhancements out one at a time from a stack of multiples, when there are more than one type of enhancement stored in the table, occasionally the stack will pop out of order and appear at a new place in the list. Taking out one or two more will make it appear back in its original place.

Market Bug: Different Items are sharing sales history.

I'll file this here since it seems to be a somewhat similar bug. The other day I had a few lines from someone else's Help channel posts show up in a bubble over my head as if I was saying them. It only happened three or four times. This is the only time I've had this happen. I've included a screenshot for illustration.

Homecoming Incarnate Guide a.k.a Incarnates made easy
AboveTheChemist replied to Vea's topic in Guides
Amen to that. I've been researching the incarnate system off and on for the better part of three weeks now and, while I still have questions (see my previous posts), I am just now getting to a point where I feel like I have made at least a little sense out of it. -
How do I actually get the sky to show?
AboveTheChemist replied to PeterDutcher's topic in Base Construction
Thanks, ShardWarrior! I stumbled upon that Room Section UI a few times when I first built my base over the weekend. But when I actually needed it on Wednesday night, I could not remember how I got it to pop up and all my efforts to find it were futile. -
Homecoming Incarnate Guide a.k.a Incarnates made easy

Yes, I know I can use threads and/or Emp merits. My point was, I have a lot of shards. By my reckoning (which could be off), I have enough shards (plus Notices of the Well and a few other incarnate salvage I already have on hand) to take me all the way to my tier 4. And assuming that shards are only good for the Alpha slot, it makes the most sense to me to use up all my shards before dipping into my supply of threads and merits. I mostly wanted to know if there was any compelling reason not to go this route. Given that this is the first incarnate ability I've ever crafted, and that I am by no means an expert, I just want to make sure I'm not blindly blundering into making a big mistake that wastes my resources. The tier 4 I am going for is the Nerve Core Paragon. Its very rare shard-based component is a Favor of the Well, which (according to the wiki) requires 2 Notices of the Well and 32 shards. I have 3 NotW on hand, so one more WST should get the 4th I need to be able to make my two T3's and make that Favor of the Well for my T4. That doesn't seem overly complex to me, unless I am just totally missing something. -
Null the Gull and Alignment missions
AboveTheChemist replied to StoneColdJoker's topic in General Discussion
Tips show up under contacts, on a tab specifically for tips which appears when you get your first tip. I pondered starting my own SG and building my own base for about a month, but I took the plunge this weekend and am quite happy I did. It is way handier than I ever thought it would be. -

Where does one set the ceiling height? Is it within that "room section" tool, or somewhere else? -
Glad it helped! Notepad++ also supports regular expressions if you are searching for more than one word in each line.

Follow up question: I upgraded my plot last night and added my big "outdoor" room but I don't see any "snow" floor tiles. I see several grass options but I was hoping for something with snow to go with a winter theme. Am I just missing them or is snow-covered ground not an option? I found the falling snow flakes effects but that was as close as I got.
