Just wondering what Time Zone the Forums are in, since this is all very Multi-National. When something is initially posted it starts with " minutes ago ", then " hours ago ", then after so long goes to " day and time ". Also curious about in game time, it seems to be it's own form of time keeping, someone once explained it to me on Live but can't recall the discussion. In Closing, have went Solo a lot since the bulk of my playtime seems to be at weird times to find a group. I play most at from about 4:00am (GMT4) to 6:00am (GMT4). The shift will soon be here when that becomes GMT5 till spring and would like to find a few regular players on Reunion that are on at that time to do 50+ content. My Global is @Marine X.

issue 26 Patch Notes for August 22nd, 2019
Marine X replied to Leandro's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
I updated and then got on for a while with no issues, then It dawned on me that I did not specify which version to run, so I don't know if it was 32bit or 64bit. Will log in later tonight and see how the 64bit Version of City of Heroes goes. Thanks for your time and effort on this. It was a necessary change for the newer Mac Users, but also a Huge step toward future-proofing the Game. It was going to have to happen at some point and can't wait to see the Processing Benefits in action. -
Oh Really, is there a list somewhere I missed showing future XXX of the week? Don't want to do anything stupid, lol.

On a related Note, I was wondering if anything is planned to make Unattainable Badges Attainable. These would be all the Veteran Badges, VIP Badges, Purchase Badges, Badges for events from early in the games History, Anniversary Badges. I was looking at Paragon Wiki and there are a bunch of badges that will never be available on Homecoming unless how they are awarded is reworked. Some could easily be placed in Kallisti Wharf as exploration badges, which would help bring some traffic there in the form of badge hunters, or as Accomplishment Badges for things only Possible on Homecoming, such as some applied to Base Building. As far as Global Badges, I don't know how I feel about that, certainly would make sense to award Anniversary Badges to all Toons on an Account since that is how it was done on Live, but the Accolade, Accomplishment and Achievement Badges, I don't think that would be good because those are tied to personal stats, but maybe Exploration badges because it takes a lot of time to get them all and gets boring if you feel you need to do it over and over.

Strangely I hardly ever even notice the Crash. Marine is Invulnerable / Super Strength and the amount of Set bonuses and Resists that he has makes it difficult to detect. Invul is almost all Resists with a Little Defense thrown in. A lot of the talk here makes it sound like the "Unstoppable" Crash, ( I hide that particular power where it never gets clicked by mistake, right beside Walk ( also known as the Suicide Button) ), I just have not felt it to be that Impactful. Shoring up the Psionic Hole in Invulnerability has been a much bigger concern. I still run PermaRage and IF I look at Power Attributes I can see the Crash but like I said, for me, it hasn't effected Gameplay. I understand that it may be a LOT worse with other Tanker/Brute sets that are heavy on Defense.

Have had this happen several times lately, where the "Mission Complete" appears, but I had not completed all the Objectives. In the Most recent case it was the 2nd Mission for Mu'Vorkan, I still had 2 hostages to rescue and when I Defeated the last Leader, the Mission Completed. I searched areas of the Map I had not yet explored and found the 2 hostages, each being guarded by a Mob. On a side note: In the 1st Mission where you are to rescue Scirrocco and Ice Mistrel, I have come to believe that both of them are possessed by the Spirit of Leroy Jenkins. Scirrocco would run out of the room past an entire crowd of villians and aggro enemies in multiple mobs until he had an unmanageable Mob and they killed him, then I had to clean up the mess. Ice Mistrel would leave the Mob we were fighting and Snipe at targets in another Room. C'mon Leroy gimme a break, I thought Fussionette was Crazy, lol. I usually enjoy Pet Missions since because of when and where I play there are not a lot of team options, but that was irritating.

I played on Virtue from about a month after launch ( had to wait for broadband install ) and had a Paid Account till shutdown and never considered a penny of it wasted. I had a Good Job, had been married about 5 Years, and had just had to retire from Playing Music after 25 Years due to shoulder issues from a car accident I was in way back in 1990. ( It is not good to play Drums in a Rock band for 12 years with no Rotator Cuff ). I needed something to do, and City of Heroes became my "Golf". I played a lot. I was a member and contributor to Game Amp and a member of the Game Amp Super Group on Triumph. I had 8 Level 50s, 2 Fully Incarnate, and a ton of Alts everywhere in the leveling tree. Then the news came in August of 2012.......didn't even know what to say. I took all the prestige that our Supergroup had and remodeled the base, and it was big, into a Giant Maze, except the TP and Crafting rooms. and we invited people to visit and try it out. I was on the ledge of the AE Building in Atlas Park when the Server Shut down, watching the crowds under Atlas and on the City Hall steps. It was a profound feeling of loss. You have given me back my "Golf". I am now 56, have my original Main back to Incarnate and appreciate everything you have and may do to keep this going. This is really a lot more than a game. It is my Home away from Home, and I don't want to lose it again if there is a way to avoid it. Cheers to Homecoming.

One other aspect of this that I haven't heard mentioned much. The MARVEL Cinematic Universe and the BILLIONS they have made for Marvel/Disney. If you don't think NCSoft has thought, " Marvel's really Raking it in, Hey we used to have a Superhero MMORG that we didn't understand the appeal of that we shut down. Super Heroes are now the hottest thing in Media and hey, what did we do with that Old thing, oh.....there it is....... over there.......and those people are fiddling with it. Wow, are there really that many people still interested in that old thing, We still don't get it.....maybe if we watch them for a while we'll learn something.........." Never Know, but maybe their trying to figure out how to jump on the coattails of all that. If CoX had come out 5 Years ago instead of 15 Years ago can you imagine how different this all might have turned out.

Was doing some Missions Solo +4/+8 from Unai Kemen and got the " Get Readings from the Last Dimension " mission. Came thru the Portal and saw it was Family as the Villain Group Packing Energy Guns and thought, " oh this will be a chance to get that Family Bosses Badge.......DEAD ". The Mob about 8 shot me. I have Resist Damage Capped and Defense about the same, Multiple PSI resists, and Resist Elements/Resist Energies on a Invulnerable/SS Tank level 50 ( 1 level shift ) at Vet 10 and 5 Incarnate Slots filled to Tier 2 to 3. What in the heck do those Energy Guns they had fire? Nuclear Waste? Contaminated Poison Ivy? Nictus Droppings? Looked at the combat log and nothing looked that powerful. Went to Hospital, came back, Same thing....DEAD. Finally lowered the mission to +2/8 and reset, Dead again. I must have a gaping Hole in my build but have never had this happen and the build I used for Marine is almost spot on to what I used before shutdown, only with better sets and Incarnates. I want one of those Guns, or was it something else in the Crowd I didn't spot, never really had trouble with Family before. Pretty Much breezed thru the Knives of Artemis and Freakshow missions before this one so was a bit stunned.

Pretty Much it in a nutshell. Once you have Contaminated aTarget, any Single Target attack can Spread the Contamination to other Targets. AoE Powers do not seem to be able to trigger the effect. From Titan Network Paragon Wiki: Contaminated Strike You charge your fist with harmful radioactive particles and quickly strike your foe dealing Light Energy and Smashing damage as well as reducing their defense. Affected enemies have a small chance to be affected by the Contaminated effect. Hitting Contaminated foes with single target Radiation Melee powers cause a small burst of damage to foes near the target. Bubba Burns is a Radiation Melee / Fiery Aura Brute ( 43 ) and it's the most fun I've had with a Brute. With Irradiated Ground, Blazing Aura and Burn it is amazing, for a guy who usually plays Tanks, how fast you can go through a Mob.

It's a little different on Homecoming. When I Hit 50 I began earning toward unlocking my Alpha Immediately from regular content and I've never done his missions. Do a mission from one of your contacts, then click Powers, Incarnate Abilities, and check it, you should be showing progress toward unlocking the Alpha. When it is complete it will then begin earning toward your other slots in order. You will also begin collecting Incarnate Shards and Threads to make your powers.

They used to have Cars, but they got chummy with Praetorian Clockwork and became Sentient. After that they became Unruly and Disruptive, and started wanting HI Test. So they clipped their Tailfins and sent them to Live in the Shadow Shard with Rularu. They opened a very successful chain of Tofu Burger Shacks and have never looked back.

City of Heroes hurt their growth a bit by having such high graphic expectations, especially Ultra Mode, Reflections and Shadows. I had 14 gig of ram, a Dual Core AMD Processor, a dedicated Aegia Physics Co-Processor and Yamaha Audio Card. Even though COH will run on almost any PC now, even at Ultra, that wasn't the case for most of it's History. If you wanted to play it and didn't have good gear you had to severely dial back the resolution and special settings till it didn't hick-up and rubber band. We used to make jokes about WoW, that most of it's popularity was that it was designed to run on almost everything, we even Joked it would run on a TRS-80, ( Crickets Chirping, as no one probably remembers what those were ). But there is some truth there, look at all the people that don't even play PC or console games, just Phone and Tablet apps. Does anyone think they will be able to do a game like this on a tablet? Maybe, seems like it would be difficult at best to have that much game and environment and controls in a tablet. I think this will be fine, may even pick up some people from other CoH servers, but when I see how quick the donations close, I think we have a long way to go before we need to worry about losing too much population. -
BIO ASSAULT Flick- Plunges finger deep in Nose and pulls out a Winner and flicks it at a single Target: Fear, Disgust and Minor Cleaning Expenses. Loogie- Hacks up a mouth full of Phlegm and launches it at a single Target: Immobilizes and causes Infectious Disease over time. Bad Breath- Heartily Exhale Outward toward a group of Targets ( Cone ) : Causes Involuntary Celibacy on Self and Nervous Sweats on Targets. Sweat Socks- You pull off your socks and throw them into a group of enemies: AoE Targets become Runners and your feet are now Cold. Skunky Pits- You lift both arms above your head and Release Vapors: Cone, Light AoE Stun and Sudden Realization that Lumburger Cheese ain't THAT Bad. Light Fart- You Drop to the Floor, Lay back, put your legs above your head and ignite a massive Fart: AoE Cone Fire and Ego Damage as well as Targets Having to Pencil in Eyebrows for weeks. Road Kill- You pull out a totally Flat Rotting Groundhog ( Whistlepig ) and toss it into a group of Targets: Causes Repeated AoE Vomit and Major Unintended Weight Loss. Porta Pot- You Summon a Totally Contaminated Porta Pot that's been sitting in 100 Degree heat at an Outdoor Rock Concert: Pet AoE Toxic & Lethal Damage, Triggers Secondary effect-Hallucinations and a Sudden Appreciation of Classical Music.

From my experience there are three Taunt Audios: Female, Male and Huge Male. I was curious about this on Live and Made test toons and that seems to be what selects the audio. So I guess you just need to use a Male starting point and you'll be fine, there is probably not an easy way to change that on an existing character. But who knows......a little bribe here, and some grease there and you could be surprised to find how things go. heh, heh.

Addressing the Tanker Brute Connundrum.
Marine X replied to Profit's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
When you create a Tank the character Creator scales show: Survivability : 10 Damage: 7 When you create a Brute the character Creator scales show: Survivability: 8 Damage: 9 If you start there and add the same powers, slots and enhancements to either Archetype, you are just going to Enhance what you had, not compensate for what you don't have to the degree that you negate the impact of those initial numbers. The Tank is going to be tougher with a better Taunt and the Brute is going to have a lot more damage output. Tanks were designed for a specific job, that everyone seems to believe can be done better by others including Brutes. Some of it has to do with pacing, some has to do with play style. These 2 Archetypes are usually played very differently. Solo Tanks pretty much have to learn patience as it's going to take a while to take down a Boss but the Toughness of the build gives them Time. Solo Brutes have to work at a fast pace in order to keep their Fury up so they have the Damage output to kill the Boss before he kills them. I think a Brute can do a Good job Tanking, I've seen it, but so can a Warshade, or a Peacebringer, or a Scrapper, or a Mastermind, but just not as good as a Good Tank can. Just my opinion, but somebody please explain the new math to me, because I am good at Math, and this doesn't add up. -
Of course this will be a QOL Upgrade courtesy of the ACME Family of Companies, Home of the Deploy Anvil temporary summon and the Rocket Skates travel power. ( Both cause Smashing/Lethal Damage, to YOU )
