  1. End game in mind. Tank because dark armor can cap def and res with sets. Best Tank for most content in game. Cap 90% res and cap 45% def
  2. Patch 27 Ninja Shinobi was BUFFED Shinobi No longer grants a damage buff outside of stealth Now grants the caster a 20% chance to inflict lethal criticals with every attack The amount of damage will be based on the recharge time of the power Usually this will be 80% of the standard damage formula This bonus damage ignores enhancements and damage buffs It's a strong proc For the OP a proc heavy set like Ice would benefit more from Shinobi. Can it make up for Fire extra damage maybeeeeeeeee..... The amount of damage will be based on the recharge time of the power ( if it counts in animation time ice may be better if not then really most are pretty similar.) ( Also is it original recharge time or after buffs, anyone know?) Someone else pointed out Elec/ninja is a great sith theme. I went with that theme but went Sonic/Ninja. The - res helps shinobi and the blapper build really worked out. Also with ninja an certain set you can achieve 44% def to range, melee, and aoe but you sacrifice to much damage imo and 33% is the sweet spot ( 1 purple ratio). Old ninja build with 44% def may help you with a template
  3. There can be many argument both ways damage, target cap, survivability. But IMO what would sway me would be to build a scrapper out (test server) with AT set and see if I can get in a attack and AOE in the 3 sec crit window given by the enhancement. If a good rotation cant be made go Tank. If a good rotation can be made go scrapper. PS Factor in recharge some rotation can only be made with high recharge but then don't sacrifice damage the build seesaw
  4. What someone previously stated better to teach a man to fish than to feed the hungry man. When it comes to Sent most build fall under either proc monster or recharge/secondary effect. That being stated you can build your sent how ever you want. Below I will post a Elec/Bio recharge build. You can compare it to the two above where they went proc in different ways. One went Dom + mindprobe proc build. 3 Different ways, 3 Different reasons. I can say I went this way to capitalize on end drain of the nuke with recharge and also recharge allowed me to almost perma leech. On a other note most of my other Sent are proc builds. Except Dark primary which is also Recharge. https://www.midsreborn.com/builds/download.php?uc=1657&c=733&a=1466&f=HEX&dc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
  5. Shocked proc on Sent is one of the few proc you can utilize more efficiently than other AT. One method how people build sent around the secondary effect of the nuke being half the time of a blasters nuke but full secondary effect. Elec blast set really can utilize that mass end drain on the nuke at a regular pace . Second the Tesla cage shock mechanic is different on sent and works better than other AT . Elec/bio IMO is one of the top sent damage builds if not number one. The amount of shock with offensive proc on top of unlimited chaining is like a energizer bunny proc just role in. Comparable to a good Scrapper or a bad blaster and IMO elec blaster is not a good blaster primary (compared to other blaster sets) Elec/Energy sent safer solid tougher but damage isn’t close to bio. Elec/Elec Any res sent set has it rough compared to def it’s not that res is bad it’s sent can’t get enough but again a recharge build with a player who know how to control surge drop is still good to roll threw 99% of content Here are some numbers on Thunderous blast Sent max end drain -110% or max recharge at 20 sec sweat spot 21.2 sec recharge - 81% end drain.
  6. Best taunt set non Brute or Tanker is a permanent GANG WAR MM. That’s right you can cave farm over cap with up to 2 Gang wars at a time pulling insane amounts of mobs on top of your normal pets. Best pared with ELec secondary for extra recharge. Also gang war don’t die because of chain heal, shields and incarnate bubble best agro toon in game IMO. Best survivablity for end game non tank or brute IMO dark/rad sent recharge build. Cap 75% res with perma -55% to hit every 21 sec with black star. Doesn’t need DDR because it focuses on - Tohit. Add -tohit jug and -to hit incarnates is just the cherry on top. For those who don’t know -tohit is similar to def if you can tank there -tohit below45% it’s the same as having 45% def. Designed the build to survive DA DDR drop works amazing
  7. Beam/mental blaster is a top pic to solo AV but is alittle light on the survivability levelining. beam sentinel is very fun to play because it has more aoe than other beam AT if you add it with bio you get good damage comparable to a scrapper. last but not least Beam/Ninja blaster with the extra crit proc damage from ninja powers it’s really fun insane damage from all ranges just weak till you can build it with IO sets to buff def above 45% . Concept wise a beam rifle with a laser sword is pretty cool. + seeing criticals role in really brings out the scrapper in you.
  8. Normal leveling at +3 or +4X8. For example if you run a mid lvl team almost no one is capped you might get 1 or 2 who are built and def oriented but everyone else cant cap def at a low level. I do believe the op is leveling with SG and is kinda new to the server which means low currency to buy all the sets. We all did not start with a level 50 and a 500M build. To be honest some of the most fun I’ve had is just level grinding with people because max lvl is to easy and kind of boring while if you tank or carry a lvl 25 team it shows a lot more than at 50. In my opinion your comment “wipes what wipes?” Is more of a lvl 50 comment because it’s easy mode and your right almost no one wipes.
  9. Lots of builds that would work but only a few are a good leveling experience. I would recommend a armor with def oriented like SR or energy aura. These 2 can get to def cap with little effort and cheap. Def cap is 45%. Then if you want to do melee go brute or scrapper if you want range go sent. SR has few clicks so you can focus on damage rotation. Would recommend pairing it with a self heal like from dark or water(sent) or rad (melee). You will have a toon that can def cap and heal itself while leveling and little enhancement set effort. The only reason I did not recommend Tank is because some people while leveling might require you to be the Tank for the team this might be to much pressure trying to carry a team. At max level It’s different it’s easy but low lvl Tank actually have to know what to do. If you want to go buffer it’s going to be allot of clicks and a rough solo compared to the armor sets. Would strongly recommend Illusion/dark controller for phantom army to tank and dark to debfuff and heal yourself still allot of clicks. Would recommend to hold off on buffer/debugger till maybe 2nd toon.
  10. Spine/ice scrapper became my main farm toon years ago. With scrapper AT crit enhancement work really well with spines . Can solo almost all content +4x8. Myself and another player a year ago compared spine/ice and rad/ice both are really good, rad might take the damage crown but spines stacking slows is amazing. Rad can be colored white to look like snow FYI and spines in crystal format color blueish look like ice. Also if your going for a ice theme character stone can be made to look like ice with crystal format and blue and white coloring. Best of luck. Fyi Icey Bastion is arguably the best t9 armor power in game. So if you are going to play ice armor. Scrapper is the best way to go.
  11. Elec, beam and Ice have all outperformed fire blast for me. I also have a water/fire which in theory with burn and whirlpool would make a great aoe build. Which then I relearned no punchvoke no burn. Now fully built with melee incarnate it’s viable but by then it’s almost time to start another toon. I would strongly suggest Ice or some primary that can slow because when burn drops they scatter.
  12. Alot of people go Device but the only secondary I know of that can cap all def is Ninja. A handfull of primaries with Ninja can cap melee, range, and aoe def. The issue arises with the build being so tight it cant afford procs. 2nd No DDR without incarnate Again what happens is to achieve that Blaster super damage with procs. You build for 33% def and eat a purp. So does capping matter?Aeon? Pick the Epic that allows you to mule to 33% Def. Proc out your rotation DP have great procs. Find your rotation proc it out and mule everything else.
  13. Here is a elec/bio full mule recharge very little procs. 21 sec nuke. So you can see the difference. For Regen if you u can find a nice in-between proc and recharge. You should be good. Or you could play for def but on a regen thats a tight build. Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 2.22 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 14. One way is to go recharge build get nuke down to 24-34 sec. With spare enchancemnts proc out main rotation. Nuke =Drain=Shock= proc rotation = repeat. Nuke largest drain per application ever 24 sec Build regen normal stuff lots of def pool power into build. Here is my DP/Regen/Elec off healer dps you can use it as a template and see how I proc out DP and apply to elec. Longer recharge and cast time in that order effect proc chance % on power. So powers like tesla cage would be better than charge bolt. Thumb rule Quick recharge and cast powers use as mules most of the times but there are rare exception. Best of luck hope this info helps you build a great build. Villain Plan by Mids' Villain Designer 2.22 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 15. I have a sonic/ ninja and it does amazing damage. Ninja gives all attack a special crit proc. Goldendragonfly and knockout blow land 1200 ish damage and 2k after a sonic nuke. Makes a great blapper build. Boarder-line bonkers. Sonics nuke and cone can weaken with -res then just one shot the bosses left with Ko or Golden. FYI mids has wrong info on Ninja. Ninja was buff last year and Goldendragonfly base damage was buff to KO blow level and it has a quicker activation. That is not including the extra crit proc you also get now which mid does not show its worth it to make a toon on test server to see the buffs.
  16. I have both separate both are good but unless you can cap range def without sacrificing Ice amazing proc it might get rough end game. IMO Ice amazing proc damage paired with a Def armor set or regen so ice can focus on damage is where it shines and why it won most pvp tournaments when paired with regen. Rad armor survivability is weak on sent but it can proc out ground zero for a mini nuke. Ice when paired with Rad if you proc out you get great damage but weak survivability. If you focus on cap range def you loose out on procs. The reason def is put ahead of res, is so the enemy cant land debuffs. If you cant cap range def at a minimum it hurts. I found a work around with Dark and rad because dark achieves def in the form of -tohit and Sent Blackstar is the largest -tohit per application in the game (-tohit 50%+ perma). Just my opinion but Ice with regen,SR,EA is where its at. You could focus on procs. Edit Blizzard has -tohit but much lower at 20-30% if you go recharge build you can get it to 26 sec or 34 if you pick another destiny instead of ageless. Bitter Ice Blast and Midnight grasp also have -tohit . I would just recomend to use this recharge build I made as a template. You could also go full proc build and focus on Barrier or melee hybrid incarnate. Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 2.22 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 17. Cap def, good DDR (defense debuff resistance) Elec one of the better damage types for sent can be made proc heavy or recharge heavy. Recharge = fast nuke. Nukes on Sent have half damage half cooldown BUT full secondary effect. So a primary with a good secondary effect is huge on sent. IMO your looking at 2nd tier damage because it’s not bio armor but far above avrg damage for a sent because it’s elec. SR is a strong pick, characters will play great in incarnate content because of DDR including DA zone missions. She will have a tough character with ok damage. Well rounded in almost all content and should play great while leveling . I would recommend hover for those team wipe moments you can hover tank till team returns.
  18. Its a valid point to bring up scrappers having and not having taunt aura but just because a secondary armor does not have the taunt aura dosent mean it cant be combined with a primary to compensate. For example the Spine/Stone scrapper will have enough slows + multiple damage aura to nullify the runaways. From what Ive experiance with a Ice/stone its close to the same control and have had no issues. Knowing what helps solve runaways and what works without taunt aura is better than canceling out half of scrappers armor sets to start.
  19. Ya learned this too thx for posting it. Also your right about the end drain. Stone feels almost like dark armor in end drain maybe not as bad but close.
  20. What’s everyone playing? Was board trying to find the next combo to try out and I came up with a Ice theme character using Stone armor in crystal form colored like Ice. I already have a Spine/Ice scrapper I farm with but wanted another scarpper and the look was spot one. I ended up trying out multiple combo's and this is how I would rate them briefly. Brimstone Interactions A. Rad/Stone two damage aura seemed to pull head this combo played stronger than all others and it was noticeable. B. Ice/Stone, Spine/Stone Both played smooth with spine pulling ahead in damage and Ice pulling ahead with mitigation and single target. C. TW/Stone, DB/Stone, Claws/Stone In one way or another they fell short in feeling or damage. This is Just a brief example of what I felt when trying out these combos on test server. I did not try all fully set up and a argument could be made for most combos fully done. I did end up going with a Ice/Stone set up for theme and fun. Had all the tools and good damage. Having Hibernate and Geode together is a real blast and with the new content I am sure would be a plus. Right now I am running Greater Ice Sword crit proc into Proc out Frozen touch Mag 6 hold into proc out Frozen touch, repeat or sword filler. Still only a few days play already thinking of switching out Frost breath for waterspout but its a good start and real fun to play. Below is a pic of the build because mids is not updated yet or does anyone know of a update? Last and only gripe with Stone is Geode breaks to early and it needs to be more like Hibernate and Invulnerable. Its just two under powered for a T9. If its going to stay weaker maybe add longer Brimstone bonus then I dont know but its just not upto par for a T9 imo.
  21. I believe he is referring to defenders getting more end drain secondary effect than other AT making shock mechanic work smoother. I believe this to be right depending on the level but most AT in time can get the end drain with the right combos. When it comes to Sent IMO have the better Tesla cage mechanic but can also get the drain done with little effort once max level and built. Do to being able to get Thunderous Blast down to 26 sec = largest end drain power per application with a quick recharge. That being said a Sentinel is still only as good as the secondary power set you combine it with just like many AT with elec blast.
  22. I second this. Fire/DB Tanker full recharge build can spam sweeping strike with burn and fiery embrace is just insane aoe damage and can play a a farmer to. Plus two huge fire swords are a lot of fun. Also I made a fully build DB/energy stalker I stop playing it because I always wish it was a scrapper.
  23. Red pill blue pill, to proc or not to proc that is the quest..... I havent gotten to that answer yet on a Elec/Bio Sent but I did go the recharge reduction route. Focusing on getting out a thounderous blast every 26 sec roughly which leads to a great start to the fight. Most of the mobs start at around half end after a good blast I focus on cage and single target past 50 short circuit becomes a mule more than a power. The build below has 33%+ Def ENFC, and 50%+ SLT. The build conecpt is to focus on the new mechanic of -end into shock without sacrificing a good damage rotatioin for this I use recharge reduction = more blast and tesla cage that is the focus. In the future I might build for a proc rotation after I test the elc short cast time and proc to see how they are. Last but not least I have Havoc punch equip, fits concept. Mind probe is a little better and can be switched for Havoc. When it comes to Bio, Energy, Regen debate here are my views in short. Bio = Best damage (tips) Offensive mod has + to hit use it. Energy = Best def (tips) If you go energy thinking the extra end drain will help it wont. The animation is just to long to use. Regen = Best Survivability (tips) Just hover and mitigate regen works best with a blast sets that can help mitigate Dark,Cold, so forth imo. Energy and Regen are really close to same survivability but with regen it's good through out the level range. So if your going to level normally regen is alot more fun. Energy shines max level and fully built it becomes the hardest nut to crack. Best of luck all. Elec/Bio is a really fun build imo the best build to come this patch.
